  1. I don't know if this show has been discussed before since I can't remember the name. It was on one night this week and featured two hipster husband and wife flippers who do their thing in Nashville, I think. She was gorgeous and he had a hat fetish. She constantly mugged for the camera and he seemed somewhat calm and rational. Is this going to be a regular series. I can't believe the constant marathons of reruns HGTV offers up. I guess ratings must be up, but I can't help but feel they are taking their viewers for granted and that at some point people will just "flip" (get it?) the channel.
  2. I also just want to snark on Joe, Meeeekah and their self-absorbed guests. Yes, they are all political and we can't avoid talking about the political side of things, but I sure wish we would just stay on the snark and not go into detail about the individual politicians and their minions. Joe and Meekah and their neuroses alone could mirthfully fill paragraphs. Pages and pages. lol
  3. Please, please, please can we just snark on Joe and Meeekaah? And not on the particular candidates? For instance, what was Meeekaah wearing yesterday? It was a black dress or some such with what looked like a fleece jacket two sizes too big on over it? And dear God---they were on the better part of the day. I weep.
  4. I thought Melissa Harris Perry was a professor at Tulane, but I think the article said Wake Forest. I am probably wrong. It is too bad about her show, I liked her. I also really miss Steve Kronacki on weekends, too. Although he is being used a lot during the rest of the week, so there is that. I hope MSNBC doesn't rue the day it went all in for the election and more right-thinking voices...although maybe I will think they got just what they deserve. Ann Coulter (!) and Bob Barr (!) are now commentators...Barr has been on for a couple of days now. Stephanie Miller and John Fugelsang used to be on every once-in-awhle, but I haven't seen them in weeks/months. Up is down and down is up.
  5. I think Donnie's show has been canceled; so I assume he will be on MJ a lot more. Meeka will have an admirer back...winning! It is her sole purpose in life, I think. Other to look like she is sucking on lemons most of the time.
  6. I love this forum...I would hate to see it get locked or whatever the "powers that be" do when members put forth their personal political opinions. I don't care to hear about how anyone feels about Hillary or Bernie or how they feel personally about the poll numbers. I am here because I love to disrespect Joe and Meeeeka. And Donnie Deutsch. And Willie. And Halperin. And Nicole Wallace. And any other political mouthpiece who happens to stumble on set. Ooh..did anyone see Donnie's suit this morning? He reminded me of Barry Melrose (hockey announcer) who can blind you sometimes with his hair and outfits. Loved Joe's shout-out to Rachel (it must have cost him dearly)...
  7. They are on again this morning! There was also another Chip and Joanna marathon on over the weekend. I guess HGTV has figured out that these shows bring the ratings....over and over again.
  8. The "Brothers" were on again either late this afternoon or early this evening. Again!!! I know, from reading the thread on the Brothers ,that a lot of people just love them. In the beginning, they were kind of fun to watch. Now it appears they are viewed as the "sexy hunks" of HGTV. Auntjess, I think you have a point about the new programming. I don't see any ads for new shows with new formats/personalities. I have to wonder how the ratings are, since you would think people would start to tune out when they see constant reruns. There must be at least one new designer they could showcase and whose show would not cost a lot of money to produce...repurposing stuff, recycling stuff, etc. Projects that would not need a welder, carpenter....
  9. Honestly, I have about given up on this channel. Every day it seems I am treated to a marathon...of reruns. The same reruns, of the same programs, over and over and over and....well, you get it. It has gotten to the point that I can't stand the site of those twin brothers. How many shows do they have on? If I see them, or Chip and Joanna, I immediately turn the channel. I do watch some of the marathons of "Flea Market Flip" because occasionally there is a new one thrown into the mix. If I have seen something once or twice, that's it. I know it is not cheap to constantly produce new programming 24/7. It is just that I would like to see a variety of the SAME shows, not one after the other. Maybe show an episode of one of the seemingly dozens of Property Brothers, then an episode of Chip and Joanna, then an episode of something else. I see where Chip and Joanna now have a B&B...HGTV sure seems like a cash cow for some of these people. Good Lord, I sound like Scrooge...I will wallow in it for awhile.
  10. The two Idiotwits are so full of themselves, they probably think being mentioned on the senate floor is a YUGE compliment and shout out to their show.
  11. I just saw where the first couple of weeks of Chuck Todd's reign at 5:00 has been a ratings disaster, a good deal worse than Ed's. I have to wonder if his ratings don't really matter to management, as long as he gets the company line out every day they will keep him on. I don't know who makes me crazier...him or Joe Scarborough. I think it is Todd, because you always know Joe is going to shout over everyone and pimp the crazy from the Republicans. Todd pretends he is a journalist....Joe has no such delusions. I don't think, anyway. Delusions of grandeur, maybe.
  12. I really like Ari Melbar and don't mind him being on a lot. One who DOES bother me (actually, one of many at this point) is Michael Steele. He might as well have his own show, because he seems to be on ALL the shows. When I see him flash that smug smile and making excuses for his party it drives me crazy. He sometimes will agree with Chris Matthews' (or someone's) criticism of the GOP, then remind everyone that the democrats do it, too. Then the cheshire grin. Gah!
  13. Does anyone know when the ratings come out...and will they include the "new" lineup? I still don't understand what the show at 6:00 is supposed to be. Also love Steve Kornacki; who knows, maybe when Chuck Todd bombs (fingers crossed) they can turn the time period over to Kornacki. I don't even bother to tune in to MSNBC until 7:00 for Chris Matthews...then again at 10:00 for Lawrence O'Donnell. I usually watch other things from 8-10.
  14. At 6:00 I feel like I am watching the third hour of the Today Show..minus Al Roker. Actually makes me miss Al Sharpton. Who'd a thunk it.
  15. Briana just seems to be an unhappy person. Life is all about choices and she is having to live with hers. No one forced her to marry a military guy (who she married on the sly).. No one forced her into having two kids right away..and she knew her husband could be transferred at the drop of a dime. Plus Ryan was throwing shade at Vicky for basically handing him a career post-military. Hey, you two...grow up, quit whining and get yourselves off reality tv.
  16. I tuned yesterday and the Property Brothers were on...I tuned in later in the day and they were on....I tuned in last night and they were on. Wait, maybe it was Love it or List it. With the constant marathons one has to wonder who watches them. Day after day after day. If I turn it on in the morning and see any of the Property Brothers show(s), the flip show with the pretty blond and her husband, the show with Joanna and Chip, either of the Love it Or List Its, the one with Nicole....etc. I don't tune in the rest of the day because I know exactly what will be on. They start in the morning and don't let up. I do like "House Hunters..Where are They Now"....but they are starting to do that one to death also. Same for Flea Market Flip. Who watches the same people hour after hour?
  17. Hubby turned on MJ this morning..first thing I saw was a promo for the "Know Your Value" tour. Then Nicole Wallace appeared as a co-host. Back to Charlie Rose and CBS.
  18. I know this is an unpopular opinion here, but I just DREAD the start of all those Christmas movies on Oct. 31st. October!! 31st!! Why not around Thanksgiving? And I think they are on 24/7...by the time the holidays get here, and I am actually ready for some Christmas movies, I am thoroughly sick of them. Now I will go yell at some small children to get off my lawn.
  19. Don't forget Chris is "Irish Catholic"....which he repeats almost as often as Joe Scarborough's "When I was in congress.. Too bad I didn't think of starting a drinking game with hubby.
  20. I tuned in to see Chris Matthews wax poetically about being Irish Catholic and waxing poetically about the Pope. Saw Chuck Todd's smug face instead, so switched to CNN. Wonder if this is what MSNBC had in mind when they decided to scrub a good bit of their lineup. I guess we'll know when the ratings come out; don't know when that is.
  21. Joe is a horrible douchebag, but at least he has some life to him. You put Willie Geist and Chuck Todd together, you maybe have the charisma of a single turnip. Maybe. So MSNBC will be unwatchable for over 5 hours (at least) in the mornings. Four (!!!) hours of Joe and then an hour or so of Willie Geist. And then dour Andrea Mitchell. Just wow. I have been enjoying Jonathan Capeheart at 5; also enjoyed Steve Kornacki in that time slot. But they are not Big Ed. I weep.
  22. When Cheney stated his fear of another 9/11 due to the treaty, i can't understand why someone didn't inform him that 9/11 happened under his watch. I must admit that I didn't watch this morning, I only saw the clip later, so maybe Joe and Meeeka were the only ones present.
  23. I haven't watched much OC this season....had to finish up my New York ladies first. I actually enjoyed the scenes where no one was fighting, and was glad to see Michael after all this time. He seems comfortable in his skin, manages his mother nicely, and does a good job of not looking like he would rather be someplace else. It isn't that he is not attractive, but does anyone else think he looks a lot older than he is? Maybe it is weight loss (maybe thyroid, like someone mentioned above) but he looks kind of like he is in his 40's...and late 40's at that. Isn't he just in his early 30's, if that? If this has already been discussed...nevermind.
  24. After reading about Joe's glee that MSNBC is changing it's format to "hard news" (meaning leaning right), I can only think that HE is running the network; or so it seems. His ego is out of control, and the network should rein him in. Like that would happen...he seems to be the voice of the network at this point. No, I don't watch anymore - can't get my day started with irritation and yelling. CNN is maybe a little better, but CBS This Morning is now my morning news show of choice. Meeeeka is a horrible example of a female journalist (or any journalist/reporter). Put her and Luke Russert together and you have two people who were born on third base and thought they hit a triple. I am so sad for what MSNBC has become. If they want to feature more hard news, then get rid of ALL the opinion shows; starting at 5 a.m.
  25. Just saw where they are moving Al Sharpton to Sunday mornings...where does that leave Steve Kornaki? A true test of their new programming is that I now look forward to Rev Al's show at 6...he seems to be the most progressive one left in the earlier time slot since they got rid of Ed Shultz. And Michael Eric Dyson doesn't cut it as a host, same as Ezra Klein ... great guests but too boring/wonky to carry a show. Dreading Chuck Todd.
