  1. Remember the thing where Benedict was one of a number of celebrities designing a Paddington Bear statue (now used to promote London tourism, eventually to be auctioned off on behalf of the British NSPCC)? Well, you can see a number of the bears on the Dail Mail website; if you scroll down aways, they show Benedict's Sherlock Bear. *** From BBC.com, Benedict has been nominated for best actor at the British Independent Film Awards for The Imitation Game. *** Also from the Daily Mail, more Smaug, including an "exclusive video" and many photos.
  2. From Beauty Word News (?!? I presume this piece is repeating something printed elsewhere!): 'Sherlock' Producers Talk Season 4 Plans, Insist The Benedict Cumberbatch-Starrer Is A 'Series About A Detective, Not A Detective Series' I could get behind an episode some 40 years from now!
  3. This weekend's New York Times has an article about The Imitation Game that gives quite a bit of credit to Benedict: The Riddle Who Unlocked the Enigma
  4. If anything he seems to be more...for want of a better word, thoughtlessly honest...in interviews than he should be rather than a faker. (I'm sure his press agent, if he has one, has daily heart attacks!)
  5. Aaaand one more thing courtesy of Elle UK, from their Twitter feed: Now THIS is what a feminist looks like. *** Remember when Benedict starred in Frankenstein on stage (last year or the year before...I forget)? Well, National Theatre Live has released an app that shows the makeup process to turn Benedict (and on alternate nights, Jonny Lee Miller) into the monster. *** According to Zap2it, "Ben Affleck, Robert Downey, Jr. & Benedict Cumberbatch to Appear on the 'Hollywood Film Awards' Friday, November 14 on CBS." (I don't recall ever hearing about the Hollywood Film Awards, but I'm sure it's very nice.)
  6. The full Elle UK article is here (with photos, naturally), and the outtake about Sherlock and sex that has caused some uproar (although I'm not sure why) is here.
  7. To be fair, there are any number of astrophysicists and the like who openly credit their career choice to Star Trek...
  8. Aaaaaaand here's the trailer: *** And another video, this of Benedict auditioning for "The Hobbit": There's also an article about it on Inquisitr. *** There are also a number of articles about his Elle interview; here's one from Business Standard. There's video from the same floating around; here are the two I've seen:
  9. Digital Spy has a piece about Martin filming "The Hobbit"; it includes a video showing clips of him doing the same phrase multiple ways. Pretty amazing!
  10. From TVWise: Benedict Cumberbatch to Front New BBC Drama Trailer. That I want to hear, definitely!
  11. Apparently Martin was fairly annoyed that Amanda Abbington managed to drive herself into bankruptcy due to tax debts. (Express, Contact Music) (Can't really blame him.)
  12. The Beeb put up a few clips from Benedict's appearance on the Graham Norton show: *** CBS Sunday Morning did a feature on Alan Turing this week, featuring the film and Benedict. There's a transcript and video here.
  13. There is a Smaug video clip: And articles about it. (Two examples: Breaking News and Broadway World, but I know there are more.) *** There's a new clip out and about (1 minute long) from The Imitation Game. It's not on YouTube (that I know of), but you can see it on Digital Spy. He really creates a character very quickly--he's saying something Sherlock might say, but it's not at all Sherlock saying it. *** And there are some pieces about Benedict's appearance on the Graham Norton show this week, where he was confronted by his Madame Tussaud's doppelganger: the Mail; Radio Times. Their eps usually turn up on YouTube sooner or later.
  14. Wales Online has a first look of Martin in The Eichmann Show. (Is that really what their calling it? Really?)
  15. I had no clue on the FJ, none. What surprised me was the contestant missing the "bet your bottom dollar" DJ earlier in the show, especially since they mentioned Annie in the clue--but then, I suppose there was a limited amount of time when you Just Could Not Avoid hearing the "Tomorrow" song several times a day, thus having it burned into your brain forevermore.
  16. You're quite welcome. :) (As I recall, Sherlock was in the Drama Forum on TWOP until this year.)
  17. Brattinella, if you want the TWOP recaps of Sherlock (they only did season 3), they still have those up: http://www.televisionwithoutpity.com/show/sherlock/ (The forums, not.) Okay, I found the site. I can't say I know how to navigate it, having only just seen it for the first time (!), but here is what looks like their TWOP forums page: https://web.archive.org/web/*/http://forums.televisionwithoutpity.com/ . I'm guessing you find the year you want in that top bar, then click on the 'snapshot' you're interested in, and then click through to the Sherlock forum. Good luck!
  18. I'm sorry, I must be stupid tired myself, because I have no idea what you mean by a Wayback Machine for Sherlock? The only Wayback (or WABAC) Machine I know of is the one Mr. Peabody (of Mr. Peabody and Sherman fame) invented.
  19. Here's a cluster of Benedict bits today: From the Mirror: His Madame Tussaud figure was unveiled. (There's a gallery of photos of the image--good job, I'd say!) *** From the National: He filmed a mystery something for the BBC, teased on BBC One's Facebook page. *** There are more Hollow Crown photos at the Metro. *** And Just Jared has a piece about Benedict hosting a Flaunt Magazine party for their "The Grind" issue. There's a bit about the party at Flaunt's website, as well as a very atmospheric video/interview shot during his photoshoot, if I've understood that correctly.
  20. This totally reminded me of this: (I could never figure out how they got this past the Hollywood censors...)
  21. Sherlock and Ed Sheeran among BBC Radio 1 Teen Award winners (Link: Digital Spy)
  22. Here's a part of a trick with Derren Brown and Martin Freeman (with a little Amanda Abbington on the side): It's part of a show in aid of Stand Up To Cancer; article on the RadioTimes website.
  23. There's a very long, thoughtful interview in Out Magazine with Benedict, about Hamlet, The Imitation Game, fame, and all manner of other things. I find it's usually an interesting piece when an interviewer starts him off and then listens carefully, as this one clearly did.
