Aw, Albert Finney. He was in so many, but I'll always remember his Daddy Warbucks.

I guess this means no Bonus* Aires

R.I.P. Mr. Finney.  Last night I watched the only Murder on the Orient Express I acknowledge in tribute.

*No, this isn't autocorrect.  1982 Annie fans know why.

And Adams was more of a regular on Murder, She Wrote, than Perry Mason, Post Capitol.

To clarify my meaning, I didn't mean she was a regular along the lines of Karl Held's useless David Gideon.  I meant she was amongst a group of actors who regularly turned up on the show playing various roles i.e. Gloria Talbott, Constance Towers, and Rebecca Wells along with many others.  Held and Towers, BTW, as of today are still with us.

I was wondering when he was going to say something....that was beautiful and shouldn't have been listened to at work

I'm having a hard time reading the tributes to Kristoff St. John.  It's not only just incredibly sad, but it's also bringing back memories of my late grandmother who forbade anyone talking to her whenever Y&R was on.

Kristoff St. John who played Neil Winters for years on The Young and Restless has passed away.

OMG!  Y&R used to be a favorite of mine.  I also remember when Neil came on the show.  Though I haven't watched for years, I did know Kristoff never recovered from his son death.  So, so, sad. R.I.P. Mr. St. John.

Julie Adams, Damsel in Distress in "Creature From the Black Lagoon", Dies at 92.

She was regular guest star on Perry Mason too.  R.I.P. Ms. Adams.

I hate this new trend of a cast of a TV show going on interviews and bemoaning how sad they are their show is ending

The medium used is new, not the talking about being sad a show is coming to an end.  In the past glory days of TV Guide, they would have been the chosen outlet for such interviews.  Heck, back in the days of The Big Three and network chiefs held all the power, they used to bluntly tell TV Guide why they fired an actor.

There had been some sources that claimed he was the son of actor William Frawley (Fred Mertz on ILL), but the bios I've come across for the elder Frawley had him divorced and childless in 1927, so it seems unlikely he was related.

I saw that too and didn't mention it for exactly the reasons you stated.  Things didn't seem to add up. That is unless William Frawley had a secret family hidden away  in Texas. The dog (LOL).

  7. Too many!  I can't keep up.

I remember you Kaye Ballard.  R.I.P.

Does heaven need new celestial choir members or something?  Another smooth singer gone too soon. R.I.P. James Ingram.

R.I.P. Julius Campbell.  Reunited once again with all your former teammates.

R.I.P. James Frawley.  The Muppet Movie remains very special to me due to Jim Henson still voicing Kermit the Frog.

The man who gave the world Pia Zadora!

To this day whenever I hear the words "Golden Globes", Pia Zadora is the first thing that pops in my mind.  So RIP Meshulam Riklis, your PR campaign worked wonders indeed.

From USA TodayMichel Legrand, Oscar-Winning ‘Windmills of Your Mind’ Composer, Dead at 86

I think, among other works, he also composed the theme to the TV-movie Brian’s Song which starred James Caan & Billy Dee Williams.

R.I.P to a master.  The Windmills of Your Mind remains haunting and I absolutely love his score to The Three Musketeers.  The music for the opening credits sequence is fantastic.  R.I.P, Monsieur Legrand.

  9. I love the new Apple commercial!  It's colorful, upbeat, the music is catchy.  Very well done.  I'm seriously thinking of purchasing it.  The song that is, not the phone.  I'm not replacing my iPhone SE until it dies.

Maybe this should go in the Unpopular Opinion Thread, but for me, Perry Mason is Perry Mason. He doesn't change once he became a practicing lawyer. The core of the character is the same. Even 30 years after the original series went off the air, and we got the movies--I could still recognize Perry Mason in Raymond Burr. So for me, Raymond Burr is/was/will forever be Perry Mason. I will accept no others in that role. Never, never, never, never, never.

Even Earle Stanley Gardner, the author and creator of the character, said once he saw Raymond Burr, he saw Perry. He embodied the character.

Come sit by me.  No fake Perry Mason's will ever clutter my space.

  11. This is not necessarily an Unpopular Opinion, but it is the opinion of a Party Of One, namely Me.   I wish someone would compile a combined movie/TV database that lists everyone in the cast along with photographs of THE ACTOR IN A COSTUME WORN WHILE IN THE MOVIE/TV SHOW with the credits.  Rant over.  Thank you.
