  2. ++ Ellen -- John -- Garth Obituary: Garth Fitzgerald IV died on February 13, 2015 as a result of complications due to irritating the shit out of Iguana every time he appeared in the show. He is survived by a bunch of hunters who are relieved they no longer have to deal with this ridiculous Bobby-wannabe, a werewolf pack that fucks up established canon beyond tolerance, and Mr. Fizzles, his sock puppet. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Iguana, who will use them to buy back the hours wasted watching this idjit. 23 - Ellen 21 - Rufus 21 - Bobby 19 - Jo 19 - Ash 17 - Mary 15 - John 03 - Gwen Campbell Salted and Burned: Samuel Christian Campbell Garth

  6. 22 is about the same as eps per season, so I don't think it's too unmanageable for a miscellaneous re-occurring character list. Looking at the people on that list, I honestly can't think of a further subdivision that would make sense, unless we want to go with the arbitrary men vs women split, and then it's 9 to 13. Or we could do the super vs normal humans, like Demented Daisy suggested. And add Michael as a character, even though he never had a real body of his own, just varous Winchester meatsuits.
  7. I always figured that Sam would have forgiven Dean relatively quickly if it was just about the initial consent to the possession. It was the weeks (months?) of lying to him about Gadreel still possessing and controlling him that really triggered Sam's feeling of betrayal and anger. And I totally get that. How Sam acted as a result of that anger and betrayal, though, is a whole other issue.

  10. To help clarify, Braxton's original plan had nothing to do with Lizzie. He wanted to access the computer/servers at the detention facility as they apparently had information that would lead to the location of the fulcrum. When the servers got blowed up real good, and somehow Brxton realized that Lizzie was "the girl" he then grabbed Lizzie and that's when the improvisation had to start. What I cannot help clarify in ANY way is anything to do with the travel shenanigans. I don't normally let myself get distracted by the fact that everywhere on TV is just two hours away from everywhere else because then I would go crazy and hate almost all television. However in this episode that was very hard to do given the Alaska versus Washington issues and the inexplicable abilities of helicopters to travel thousands of miles almost instantaneously. I'm glad we finally have some forward momentum on Reds connection to Lizzie and where the fulcrum is. And as always Spader is a joy to watch, whether he's telling Braxton "I told you so", facing down Straithern, or pressing Lizzie to remember.
  11. NEVER! Sam's hair is to the metallicar what kale is to the most succulent filet mignon. Not even worthy to be mentioned in the same breath.
  12. Heh. I remember back on TWoP, in everybody loves a clown, the best comment was that it looked like Sam's hair has a question. As far as Tina is concerned, she could have played the kidnap victim rescued by mysterious good guys and brought the cops back to the house where there is ample evidence of cells, cannibals and serial killers. A convenient case of traumatic amnesia later and she's in the system as an u nidentified missing child. A court application later and she's got a legitimate I'd and a foster home. She can stick around if she wants or take off for the Winchester and friends if it sucks. But her just heading out for parts unknown without a safety net was what she decided to go for instead. Please note - she decided to hop on the bus; Sam and Dean didn't choose it for her. Not their call, no blame from me if she gets in trouble. Especially because I don't need them to show the boys giving her all their contact info to know that's what Sam and Dean did.

  14. I can't believe that I'm weighing in on the relative kinkiness of Sam and Dean... But I find it irresistible. This show, and this board, does something to my head. Off the top of my head, we've seen Sam (with soul, as I can't count soulless Sam's sexcapades) in only 3 actual sex scenes: Madison the werewolf in Heart, Ruby in I Know What You Did Last Summer and the medical examiner in Sex and Violence. All of them could be considered somewhat unconventional, as he started Madison off up against a wall and continued into a sunrise to sunset marathon sex session; Ruby was a demon in a meatsuit and it was not exactly the missionary position; and the medical examiner was on the desk in her office. He seemed to get a little bite-y with all three, but not in a violent, draw blood way. We didn't see any sex with his first long term partner, Jessica, and the vet only got some rather passionless kissing and bed cuddles. Regular references have been made by Dean about Sam's monkish ways, that generally go undisputed by Sam. Conclusion: no demonstrated kinkiness. Again off the top of my head we've seen 3 sex scenes with real, not altered/possessed/demon Dean: Cassie in Route 666, Anna in Heaven and Hell, and the Amazon in Slice Girls. The scene with Cassie was as conventional as it gets, as was Anna, save for it being in the backseat, and in both, Dean appeared to be tender and considerate. (I really wish that I could come up with a description that didn't make me sound like a Harlequin romance writer for Dean's behaviour her, but I can't. Dammit.) The Amazon scene played up the sexual violence by cross cutting it with the killing, but the actual sex appeared to be a straightforward one night stand. The only scene with Dean's only long term partner, Lisa, was actually a dream, so I don't count it here, but even if I did, it was as conventional (and tender, dammit,) as Cassie. However, there are numerous times where we see the beginning or aftermath of one of Dean's encounters, such as the bar wench in Monster Movie, the former porn star/born again virgin, whatever (or whomever) he was doing at the motel in Magnificent Seven, and a whole lot of episodes in season one. There are too many references to Dean's off screen sexcapades for me to list, but at least some of them, ("Bendy" Lisa and the best weekend of her life, the Doublement Twins, handcuffs) indicate that Dean is, shall we say, does not have a puritanical view of sex and is more than willing to experiment with an interested partner. Verdict: zero kinkiness shown, at least some referenced. Conclusion: Based on what the show has given us, Sam is probably not as kinky as Dean, although Dean may just be more experimental and open than truly kinky. However, the show has given us very limited data, as even including the sex scenes where Sam or Dean are altered in some way, it still averages out to less than one per season. Bitter Opinion: I am bitter that I am so obsessed with Supernatural that I was compelled to go through the above analysis. More importantly, I am bitter that there is such a small number of scenes to analyze, and the show is so stingy about showing skin. I am shallow, and demand they provide more of the pretty, dammit.

  19. This episode shit on established werewolf canon so badly that a gallon of Imodium couldn't halt the flow. Hate it for that reason. Garth is just as annoying as a werewolf as he is as a human. Hate it for that reason. The plot required everyone to be stupid about figuring out who the bad guys were. Hate it for that reason. Haaaate.

  22. I think having the three previous winners as mentors is a real plus for the show. Mr. Westmire's input is always valuable and contestants who do not follow his advice always wish they had later. However, given the relative in experience of this seasons contestants, I think they need the mentors additional guidance and feedback. The mentors can help prevent massive disasters from happening, which is great for me as I prefer interesting and well done work to train wrecks. I can't disagree with any of the judges decisions this week. The cactus ram and the hyena creatures were clearly the best and while I might prefer the hyena, the ram was very well done. The horrid paint jobs on the bottom two totally justified their placement there, and the blocky sculpt justified this weeks boot.
  23. Awesom, Kevin Kline would definitely fit into the world of Galavant quite well. It's silly frothy and ridiculous, but fun.
  24. Sorry I didn't post earlier, but I was at the ER getting all the head wounds from the multiple falling anvils tended to. Ouch. Subtle, this ep was not. I'm pretty sure we didn't need to be flogged quite so hard with the good Charlie/bad Charlie and good Dean/MoC Dean parallels. And it would have been better if Dean trying to give bad Charlie the benefit of the doubt didn't come across as Duh Dean quite as much. That doesn't mean I hated it though. I like how they wrapped up the Oz storyline and made it clear that going back wasn't going to be an option. I liked how the wizard turned out to be another version of the split personality and that mortally wounding his Earth half forced the Wizard to come back from Oz. I like Sam being supportive and helpful and that they didn't pull any punches (heh) with Dean beating the crap out of bad Charlie. And I think they made a good choice to make it clear that Charlie didn't have any lingering fear or resentment with Dean over what he did, because it's nice for at least one friendship on the show not to be fraught with all the angst in the world.
  25. SueB, if you're referring to when Richard and Galavant are "sneaking" around the castle singing, "first another drink" and the music stops while they tiptoe behind the guards, I, too, had a laugh out loud moment that scared the cats. I had no idea Omundson could be that funny. I just hope they find a way to work a reference to this role into the ep where Cain comes back. (unspoiled speculation; I just assume he'll return at some point)
