  1. Yes, it was immediately a different feel seeing them all back together. And yes, I suppose that's it - but Sturgis and Linkletter went out as heroes!
  2. Sad Malcom is always funny. I liked the Calvin/Gemma vs Dave/Tina arrangement re:bosses, but I guess we forgot Dave was a conflict negotiator. And the resolution was, 'She gave us everything we wanted!' Well, I guess that worked out...
  3. Yeah, best of the season so far. Pollack is always good, and Beth's hair looked great!
  4. Yeah, we did the friend/employee/slacker plot last year - and Marty fired that guy! I guess another perspective now. Cedrick talking snacks is always funny. Not looking forward to the pregnancy storyline.
  5. The MatriXXX had me launghing out loud the whole time - the Matrix parodies, the married-sex problems (and yes, my wife and I look for the happy-hour drink specials when we plan date night); the boulder threesome/twosome; and the reunion (love how Buscemi's bully still managed to deck him!) But then, yeah, the ending kinda ruined it all!
  6. Maybe it's just me but when they cut from the 90210 discussion to Georgie's date, I was struck by how much she looked like Shannen Doherty's Brenda character - to the point I thought they deliberately made her up that way! Best wishes to real Shannen, of course...
  7. Even playing Frank's most sketchy friend, the guy had charisma. RIP
  8. I haven't seen it mentioned yet (apologies if I missed it) but there's a wonderful tracking shot near the beginning of the final episode that I really enjoyed and I think it's worth a re-watch all on it's own. (For those not familiar - tracking shots are scenes where the camera follows the actors without (seemingly) any edits or cuts. They're visually so different from regular scenes, that seem to cut about once a second, and I always love to see them.) Anyway, it's immediately after the 'So Long, Farewell' song - about 13 minutes into the eposide. We start on Trent arriving at the practice facility. He compliments Keeley's shoes and walks past, and now we're following Keeley. She walks down the hall, past Nate and into the coaches offices. She drops off presents for Ted and Beard and walks into the locker room. At this point, the camera seems to go through the glass window separating the rooms. Now we're in the locker room, and Keeley wishes the team good luck and leaves. The camera focuses on Jamie. Jamie walks out of the locker room (different door from Keeley) and catches up with her in the hall. They talk and then hug. When they separate, Roy is standing in the distance between them. Jamie and Keeley each leave in different directions as Roy walks straight up to the camera. We follow Roy back into the locker room, where he invites Jamie for a beer and leaves. Nate then walks up and asks if he and Roy are friends now. "Uh, yeah, guess so." "Wonderful" "F'n mint, yeah." Two and a half (seemingly) seamless minutes - well done, show!
  9. I do cut Marty some slack here. You can think you've got everything prepared right -- in theory and in practicing and in testing, and still get punched in the face the first time reality shows up. Engineering is all about anticipating problems, but Marty's not the first one that's happened to!
  10. And haven't the last four district attorneys been killed or jailed or humiliated or generally traumatized just to serve the cause of Erin's galactic ambition?
  11. I didn't watch much Blue Bloods in the Jennifer Esposito years, but if they do feel they have to pair Danny up those two do have a good chemistry! Now Erin's not running? I don't know what to say.
  12. Isaac and Alberta both came to important resolutions (if that’s the right word). but yeah, I don’t think it’s any main cast.
  13. It seems to me Shred and the old boss share a lot of the same looks and mannerisms - maybe she has a type!
  14. Largely agree with all the sentiments above. Maybe the answer is to not make Ted the C-plot (at best) in his own show.
  15. Paige isn't the oldest, though (the character, that is). We know Missy is 2 minutes younger than Sheldon, but wasn't Paige introduced to the physics class as the 'new youngest student'? I know it seems weird (and looks weird) but Missy is older... I think
  16. A security camera in a locker room? I don't know if that's a good idea .... And Ted knew all along that the sign was ripped and who ripped it, right - wouldn't he have been the one that fixed it? But yes, Trent is obviously Hoffman
  17. I admit alot of the British-accent dialog zips past me, so this isn't an in-depth analysis... I just wanted to see more of Ted. Don't care about Keeley's business, really don't like Zava (and can't imagine that being a realistic way soccer players move around), not invested in Crimm's book. We don't need new characters now! But loved some of Ted's lines (him, I can understand!) "Beg to differ, Claudia Schiffer" "Hey, I just said 'football'!" and best of all: "We're going to a play about menstruation." "Don't wanna be late."
  18. Funniest Grover yet! Loved the Tom Cruise tribute.
  19. Just read of the passing of Lance Reddick. Best known for The Wire, we know him here as Sheldon’s strict engineering professor. Only 60 - too soon! Rest in peace.
  20. Who had Whitten on their dinner scorecard? Always liked her character. Glad she made it back. And Lyle Lovett next week? Feeling like it’s greatest hits at this point.
  21. My favorite was Billy and Missy outside school. Funniest Billy ever!
  22. Best episode in a while - looking forward to re-watching it this weekend. Lots of lines made me laugh. And sorry that Paige is still in crisis, but Sheldon/Missy/Paige are so awesome together. Good for Missy for being so mature - whatever age she's supposed to be. Although, when you can't find your kid, the first thing you do is call their brother (Sheldon) or big sister (Heather's) to see if they've seen them. Of course, you might not be able to reach them either...
  23. I kept thinking she was Dean Norris' wife in Breaking Bad, but of course she wasn't. She was Dean Norris' girlfriend in United States of Al. (Where she was very nice.)
