  1. I just noticed that the title of this season finale episode, "Second Chance," is almost like a plea to the network for another season. Kind of like: We promise we'll do better. Just give us a second chance with a season two.
  2. If I'm reading zap2it correctly, this episode begins 8 CDT/ 9EDT and it runs until 9:03/10:03 p.m., so man your stations! Or woman your DVRs! Or whatever. From thetvdb.com:
  3. I binge watched this weekend too *high fives car54* but I wish I had been watching all along with everyone else to join in the discussion.
  4. I think she foresaw Dillon as Piron--or at least a controlling partner. Travis' grief was palpable. One way it might manifest is for him to go back in time to kill Kagame so Sonya won't follow him. That could mean that Travis and Sonya never meet, but if he just wants her to live (selfless love) or if he wants revenge, he might do that. Would there be enough of her left for the Darth Vader of Resurrection to work with? And, no doubt, a little Jason. You mean instead of, "I am your father"? Heh.
  5. Tell me that wasn't Darth Vader. And I'm not sure whose side Curtis is on now, but if I was going to be on his bad side, I might have to get some extra life insurance against trained assassins with swords. His reanimation was very reminiscent of the revival of Coulson in Tahiti in Agents of SHIELD. If it was inspired from that scene, I agree with the Freelancer henchman, I wouldn't want to see it either. That cabin so reminds me of the one where the SG1 team reconvened after their time travel adventure. So if Dead Kira wasn't supposed to die, is the wrong Kira alive? I guess Brad doesn't mind, so long as there's one. Interesting that Kellogg said Kira was a heartbreaker. I hope his motivations aren't going to be like Gabe's in the currently airing Beauty and the Beast. This show should be more cerebral than that. I guess there's no reanimating a vaporized Sonya.
  6. First, rant: At the beginning of the road trip, when Tate said he wanted Bo to get them the winning lottery ticket, I thought: How exactly are they going to collect the winnings when they are both on the FBI's wanted list? Then I forgot about it. But then, in the last scene they had to bring it up again. It kind of felt like: Are you idiots still watching this? NBC was cutting out during the show. I saw that Bo healed Dani of the worst case of Psorisis ever and special cataracts that allow the person to see, but did Dani then die? Anyone else notice--ever since that episode when Miss Channing told Bo's grandfather that Bo was her kid--that Jamie Chung really does look like she really could be Johnny Sequoyah's mother?
  7. Seriously? *shapeshifter looks at cast list* Well, Shivani Ghai and Anton David Jeftha are listed 6th and 9th respectively, and they add a little diversity, but I see your point.
  8. I would love to hear Vincent D'Onofrio as L&O CM's Bobby Goren tear apart that alibi. About the episode title's referenced fable, the AV Club review (avclub.com/tvclub/fargo-fox-rabbit-and-cabbage-205634) seems to suggest that there are several scenes in which writer Hawley must carefully plan the entrances and exits of the characters who would consume each other, especially the scene in the diner when Malvo exits just as Molly and the fibbies arrive. While the review doesn't state it, I like the idea of, in that scene, Lou being the fox.
  9. Okay. I did see it, Curious5. And then it disappeared again. I think I'm just having browser cache issues. And here's a recent article: hollywoodreporter.com/news/emmys-set-bridge-as-fxs-708741
  10. I'll be watching, but really, I'm not sure why.
  11. Sunday. And it could be said that the U.S. gets it late. ;-)P.S.: The thread titles go with the Canadian air dates.
  12. This 8-minute video with Dylan Bruce pretending to coach 2 "almost royals" in soap opera acting is a real hoot:
  13. Since in this episode there was a brief exchange between Rachel and Michelle Forbes' character about some over-arching power in control of Dyad above and beyond Rachel, and since both Rachel's sense of self worth and perhaps actual value to Dyad was threatened when Sarah's Kira became "the prize," I'm guessing Rachel decided that if she couldn't create a prize too, she could at least deliver one by capturing Kira, and thereby somewhat regain her queen bee status. Maybe some biologists on this thread can confirm, but I think Helena's fertilized eggs are now valuable both as potential "prizes" (second generation clones) and for their stem cell value in treating the sick first generation clones--or, maybe that therapeutic value is what made Ethan Duncan refer to Kira as "the prize" in the first place. *shudder* But I thought recent studies have demonstrated that stem cells can be derived from mature cells--that they are even being used therapeutically to regrow cartilage etc. Maybe these scripts were written without this knowledge? Knowing that Helena's babies are all fathered by Henrik the Evil, maybe having them all either aborted, used for medicinal purposes, or otherwise lost would generate ethical discussion, but likely not any real sense of sadness. If Henrik didn't have such a huge ego, he would've kidnapped Cal to be the baby daddy, given the previous success there. How old is Gracie?
  14. Alternatively: Lester = Fox Linda = Rabbit Passports = Cabbage And isn't cabbage--like lettuce--a metaphor for money?
  15. I too see a relationship budding between Kiera and Brad--in a world with time travel, they uniquely understand and relate to each other. When she and Kellogg had their one night of drunken indescretion, it seemed motivated by that same connection in a world where neither of them could connect with anyone else. But I can also still see (just barely) a Kiera/Brad relationship as just a weigh station before the final destination of a Kiera/Carlos end game. Or is that no longer even a possibility? I saw that too, but even on Fringe where they actually used colors to visually distinguish the universes, it was confusing to use those colors to identify characters who traveled between the different 'verses and became at home in them. Fortunately we rarely have to make the distinction in our Continuum discussions since dead Kiera isn't doing much anymore. I challenge anyone to identify any of the versions of Curtis definitively.
  16. I loved Allisons flower print garden gloves that enabled her to operate the jack hammer. He looked so sweet sleeping in the window seat, but I was thinking it must be uncomfortable. Did he say anything about it?I did not laugh at Helena probably perforating Cult Daddy's intestines. That was a little too sadistic for me--fitting or not. But, oddly, I was okay with him burning in his own private hell. Whew! I was worried about that! I guess I missed it.
  17. Hrmmm...I see what you're seeing (I think): When you type The Bridge into the zap2it schedule search box, it shows an airing ...Edited. See below. While looking on the FX site, I just noticed they had a mural contest for the show and now have some cool images posted from fans: http://www.thebridgemuralsfx.com/s/#!/gallery
  18. I'm embarrassed to admit that I didn't notice it was insensitive too. I think because the actor seemed to joke in interviews about his character's sex scenes with Tatiana's characters, I lost sight of the fine line between acceptable and offensive humor on such topics. Also, in my mind, Paul might have enjoyed being sexually dominated by Rachel--we don't know for sure.
  19. Note the move to Sunday nights (9pm CDT, 10pm EDT). From thetvdb.com:
  20. I hope it didn't give you an actual headache, because that is a wonderfully comprehensible explanation. More, please. For me, it would be easier to just use Dead Kiera and Live Kiera--so long as we don't have a 3rd Kiera to deal with.
  21. I've compared and contrasted Lester Nygaard and Walter White in my mind and thought about them separately, and I just don't see in pre-Malvo Lester the germ of arrogance and need for power that we saw in Walter White, the high school teacher. If they decide to let Lester and the story live for another season, I would want to start a Lester Nygaard In Comparison to Walter White thread. But since there's just one episode left...
  22. The CBS Saturday morning pseudo-news show just had a piece on new summer shows that included this one. They had brief, canned interviews with some of the principles. They managed to convince me it might be worth checking out.
  23. Are you questioning why he wouldn't have bought her a ticket too? I'm not sure he didn't, but if he didn't, we saw in the hotel in Vegas that he intended to cheat on her with one of the women in the lobby (before he saw Malvo).
  24. When Lorne said no good can ever come from cherry pie, I figured it was a breaking of the fourth wall to say to the audience: This show is not your mother's Twin Peaks. Molly's dad, Keith Carradine, is the only one to really be able to stand up to Lorne Malvo. If he dies, I predict it will count for something rather than just being collateral damage. He might not only have seen Molly's murder board and have recognized Malvo, but he might have had his own murder board in 1974 with a younger Malvo on it, and, like Gus, have chosen to keep his daughter safe rather than pursue and capture him. I see Malvo as a personification of the Devil and Lester as an example of how any of us has the potential for evil. Back in the hospital waiting room, Malvo tricked Lester into selling his soul to the devil. I don't see Lester's transformation as realistic, because I don't see people really changing. Although I've never met any quite as evil as Malvo, he actually seems more plausible as a character. In my job, the observations of myself and others who are low on the totem pole are often disregarded like Molly's. I see this as a world wide problem since the beginning of time. It will be nice to see the vindication of the wisdom of those without power. The irony is that Malvo has consistently murdered/punished those who wield their power over others. Back in the Pilot, Vern told Molly she would be the new Chief, not Bill, because, IIRC, Bill "cleans his gun with baby shampoo" or maybe it was "bubble bath." I'm guessing the "lost boy" he found was really something like a kidnapper of lost boys who took the identity of the one they were planning to adopt, and that he might kill Bill in his sleep or something.* If so, I'm not sure why the writers would use this vehicle to "punish" Bill for his hubris rather than having him become another victim of Malvo. *On second thought, it seems more likely that Malvo, who has always acted as if it is only right to murder those who have power over others and use that power to make others suffer, will be murdered by the "Lost Boy" former child soldier, perhaps to defend/protect Bill from Malvo.
  25. Martin Freeman's delivery of Lester's acceptance speech was my favorite line in this episode. Okay. One more episode, and then I'm all caught up for the finale.
