  1. I remember reading about a college that fined students massively for not have perfect attendance for church ... but attempting to ban or discourage interracial dating tops it.

  4. I wish this was on demand or you could pay to watch the episode. I'd like to watch this but I can't.
  5. Gosh, I'm hating the Columbia episode. It's like he was forced to go there. He couldn't stand the altitude, spend half the show talking about the corruption, and barely showcased the food (e.g. his host ordered a snack for them and he took it and kept moving with no comment). It feel like a documentary on Columbia's issues, NOT a celebration of the food. And I know what he's like when he enjoys the food (see Vietnam or China). Food was just served while they talked issues. And every venue he picked was so low class and poverty-stricken.
  6. the bates were probably normalized by the failure of their tv show. they didn't have their worth tied to the "and counting" part.
  7. She wanted to move herself and her girls to the Middle East?!
  8. off topic
  9. Justin and Evelin ... I noticed that he usually had his arm around her, except if you looked closely, he wasn't touching her. His arm was wrapped around the couch and cushions. Danny and Amy ... both tried to gloss things over by claiming to take the higher road and spending thanksgiving with the father, but their facade came crumbling down once the host asked that final question. No he doesn't see or treat Amy like a daughter and their relationship will continue to be strained until Danny realizes that he doesn't have to be an angry a--- to stand up to his father, but he does have to stand up to him or move away. He can't keep subjecting his wife to that. Plus, they could also learn how to be asked about sex life and give a brief answer without spilling their business. I mean, I didn't feel as though Danny needed to share that they had practical difficulties during sex. How about "it brought a new level of intimacy" and leave it there? And this isn't the first time they've overshared. Cassia and Jason ... Rapper and Yoko ... I changed the channel during his rap. I just couldn't. Daya and Brett .... I loved the stories they shared. They are a nice couple. I even didn't mind him saying that he wanted to bring a new culture into his marriage, rather than rehash the American way. Mo and Danielle ... How does it feel to only be 60% Danielle?
  10. danny's hair reminded me of the lawyer's. lol
  11. i kind of feel privileged to have watched this (esni and fran drama aside).
  12. the boyfriend reminded me of ludacris
  13. hey voice fans, here is judith hill giving an interview with a youtuber, shameless maya
  14. did they really leave cassia alone and then go to another table in the bar? it was pathetic and sad even before she started crying. if you're going to arrange a bachelor party, then be kind enough to arrange a bachelorette party. get your sisters and sister-in-laws to spend the evening and night with cassia -- don't just ditch her and head out with your crew.
  15. I always thought you couldn't have SEX during ramadan. not kissing.
  16. Has there been proof that these people are paid?
  17. By the way, why didn't the bride buy the Vera Wang dress?
  18. I remember one of the early specials when a daughter said, while sitting on the bunk bed, that she'd like kids, just not as much. Nowadays, every bride from their family eschews birth control, declaring that "she'll leave it up to God" or that she'll have as many as Michelle, or more.
  19. Remember the bride with the sweet brothers -- I said that her dress wasn't very good. The bodice was too high, coming down from her chest by a inch, then jutting out in a weird amount of tulle. But because she asked the brothers first and they cried, it became her dress. Well, well, well ... they brought out the dress again and the bride and her family immediately loved it, but picked up on how short the bodice was. They asked that it be lowered by a few inches. I'm sure that altered dress will look divine. I kind of wonder about brides that buy their dresses, then they continue to watch the show. The consultants do bring out the same dresses over and over. What if they saw their dress and the bride or her crew just ripped it to shreds in critiques. Would it make the bride who's watching second guess? The bride who was getting alterations looked ah-amazing in her dress on her wedding day. I loved her high bun. I loved the hair accessory. The dress fit her to a tee. I just don't get where Ontario, Canada is ... Of course I get it, but that's like saying "and the bridge got married in Florida, USA". I mean, we can be more specific. Did she get married in Ottawa, Toronto, Kingston, Niagara Falls, Oakville? ... The 4 month-out bride had the unfortunate luck of having too much money to spend and therefore the associates went at it, bring expensive dresses --but they were all ugly. Her first dress, the beloved dress, was a mismatch of every thing: lace, bling, ruffles, maybe even feathers. And it didn't get better from there. I'm glad she walked away rather than force herself to take one.
  20. This episode was enjoyable for me, as I wasn't expecting that much, but ... - it was also a study in gender roles. The men did the fishing. The women stayed with the kids. The men presented their catch (in a bag or photos) and the women "awwww"-ed all over them. The mothers wondered if the daddies could take care of the kids. The daddies proved that they could barely take care of the kids and wanted the mothers back asap. The men did the heavy duty cooking and roasting. The women did the sides. The mothers went shopping for pretty pink baby dresses. The daddies went shopping for camping gear. The men did the driving and navigating. The women tended to the kids. - I also noticed that Anna revealed why it becomes easier to have more kids: they start to raise each other. First, they start entertaining themselves so the parents are freed. The tasks still need to be done, but they are no longer the ones doing it. Then the kids start grooming each other, cooking for each other, cleaning for the family, teaching each other, chaperoning each other, etc .... That's the mentality Michelle admitted to and you can see it percolating with Anna.
  21. I liked Sugar in the sing off. I could see what Pharell likes about her ... but I'm glad Gwen's team is intact.
  22. Either I've grown used to Priscilla's voice, or it's better this episode
  23. The dress that was ultimately chosen by the vow renewal bride reminded me of Michelle Obama's inauguration gown. It too was white with all these flower appliqués. I think she went with it because, in part, of that vibe. ... I also agree that the napkin dress looked stunning with the belt. Normally, I see belts thrown on dresses and they have nothing to do with anything. But this belt sealed the deal, for real. I agree that the nude lining could also have been white.
  24. It's not inconceivable that a grown man would introduce his family to his partner when they're at a stage where they're committed, and not before. The brother was making it seem like he had to be aware of every step in that relationship for it to seem right, and be right, but that doesn't have to be the case. He's not your 20 year old kid brother. And the outrage at the party wasn't about "oh, we didn't get to see you meet, fall in love, and get engaged! We missed out on some precious moments" but rather accusatory, not implying but declaring Evelyn to be a user, a fraud and disingenuous about her intentions. The meeting with the mother was so one-sided. She did make it all about her and as much as she was asking Justin to see his brother's side, she didn't once declare that she was going to have the brother she his side, and call it a truce.
