  1. What the... 2020 is unreal and the Russians have so much drama. They need their own reality show. Maybe this is a political move. Eteri skaters get bonuses. Alena isn't in good shape. Alina retired. Trusova looks that same but improved a little bit. Eteri has two open spots. No skater past 17/18 survived Eteri school. Maybe Medvedeva and Eteri will prove she can survive after puberty but I doubt. This change sounds like a political move. Med gets the Eteri bonus. Poor Brian. I feel bad for him. He put a lot of work in to help her heal and fix her bad technique. I read her back is bothering her. Well, I guess Eteri will be easy on her then and teach her properly. Just like she taught Elizabeth and Alina.
  2. Tom Z. Can't forget how he treated Josh Farris and make excuses. He was upset Vincent was called out for his UR and made excuses for it.He also loves attention and only cares about jumps. His constant repetitions is scary. Good luck to Bradie. I hope she stays injury free and does well.
  3. According to the skating lesson which I don't like to listen to but hell they're the only ones who keep up with drama she has multiple injuries. It doesn't shock me. You can't keep jumping and forcing run-throughs like Eteri does. Especially doing high risk elements. The body gives out. Watching the novice and junior Russian skaters holy hell. I hope Alena can last. She's a wonderful skater but with younger girls having quads and 3a and the force on the body many ladies will not last long. Liza is the exception but her coach actually cares about her health.

unpopular opinion but I kind of like it that there's no fans in the stands. It feels more relaxed and pleasant.
  5. Alena leaving is shocking but it's not a surprised. I think there's something else going on at Eteri's camp. She's losing skaters left and right. It sounds like Alena couldn't get her jumps back or 3A and went back to the coach that helped her Sergi? Eteri trashing a 16 yo after winning coach of the year. Then keeps bringing up her past students who left her. When will she grow up? We've seen this with Yulia, Polina, Medvedeva, Trusova, and now Alena. It's a cycle. Her skaters don't last long because she teaches them poor technique and keeps them thin. Then creates a hungers game environment. I'm sure the older skaters know they're fighting puberty and see the young ones jump like crazy. Alena is 17 this month. She's already an old lady in Eteri's group. She has been there the shortest and got her technique from someone else. I can't see Anna leaving. I can't see Alina coming back. I hope Alena can get some good choreography. It's actually interesting leaving Eteri is a big deal especially since Eteri takes students who she doesn't teach either. Alena was taught by another coach. So whats the big deal with her leaving? She left her old coach for you.
  6. Odds are most athletes don't make it to where they can be a Simone Biles or Micheal Phelps. Sadly, I've seen parents take out loans and max out credit cards but their child doesn't make it in the end or gets injured and has to quit. Even in dance. That has to be a lot of pressure to do well when your parents are maxing out their credit cards and working jobs to put in on the top. Gabby Douglas mom had to file bankruptcy. I want to see the ones who don't make it. How do they fare?
  7. Evegeni out of all people to go to. However, she has her old coaches so maybe it will work. I think Eteri has too many skaters at once. Both seniors and juniors. Trusova wasn't packaged well at all. All she has are jumps. When she was a junior they should've worked on her skating skills instead of quads. Then they added more quads and she couldn't land them. A 4,5 quad program is too much for the men. Let alone a 15 year old. I'm sad she is getting hate. Skaters leave coaches all the time. Heck, Jason Brown left his coach he trained with for 20 years. Skaters aren't obligated to stay. Lz is harder than flip. I don't understand why they're the same value. I guess the ISU said screw it. Most skaters can't do a real Lz. It's unfair to skaters who work hard for a Lz jump. If judges did their jobs we wouldn't have this issue. Again, they refuse to do two separate panels. One for technique and for for PCS. I've never seen a sport change rules so many times I'm not a fan of TSL but they're one of the few who keeps up with what's going on in the skating world. I hardly watch them but a few times they actually have good information.
  8. I don't know what the hell is going on right now. Between Trusova leaving and the ISU making a Lz and Flip equal. So what's the point of good technique? The sport is going down the drain. We know the ISU will not call put technique. Poor Mao was hammered and had to fix her technique. If only she skated now.
  9. Yet they will not do anything about calling out bad technique and lack of skills. These changes are dumb. I still can't believe they rejected a separate panel for Tech and PCS
  10. They need real jobs instead of selling this crap. $300 for makeup class? I can watch YouTube
  11. 4 kids, 3 different baby daddies, selfish, rude, what older man with money would want her. She would be a downgrade.
  12. So she got pregnant again by the same man who doesn't care about her or his other kid with her???
  13. ISU wants to change the rules again. SP three minutes long. LP three minutes long. Their issue is their judging. I still don't understand why machines don't judge technical elements and we have two panels for PCS and technical scores. Stop rewarding skaters with bad technique and bad skating skills/musicality
  14. The main issue is judges don't care about anything but quads with the ladies and Eteri skaters who are over scored. No way should Trusova has eight and nine in PCS. Anna is not doing a 4Lz. She should be called on it. The Eteri skaters are overscored even Alena to the point it doesn't bother showing up. Even with falls and lack of skating skills they win. Europeans were a joke compared to 4CC. If scored correctly Trusova would not been third and Anna would be called on her jumps. Alena too. Skating skills and PCS doesn't matter anymore. Judges are rewarding half cheated not real quads. That's why 4CC in my opinion was better than Europeans. I'm going to be extremely upset if the Eteri skaters sweep worlds if they perform like they did at Europeans. Rika should podium. I believe women can do quads not little girls. Coaches should focus on the whole package not just jumps.
  15. I don't understand why Japanese Fed refuses to advocate for their skaters. Especially Rika. Rika even has a proper real textbook Lutz. Why can't they reward her? It seems like Japan would rather hold up the Russian ladies and not their own. I suspect ISU might want a Russian sweep at Worlds. I'm sure Rika will go into World's with the fourth spot and judges will lowball her Kori shouldn't be landing or throwing out quads. She is going to hurt herself. About time.
  16. French president got involved. Holy shit. What's with these scores? I always feel as if Rika is underscored. Maybe it's just me. Young You is progressing but I'm not a fan yet.

    Gymnastics

I wish USAG did something earlier and not now. It is too late to switch gyms?
  18. My goodness. I heard France might be banned from competitions. Hanyu repeating programs? I don't know why unless it's to compete with Chen and land a 4A. I really think it's risky.
  19. Alena Kanysheva retired from singles due to injury. Sad, she's only 14. Great skating skills too.

    The NBA

Why does TMZ have to leak everything? They are very rude. Imagine finding out via TMZ your loved one died and pictures are all over the place.
  21. I'm in love with C/B programs. Happy they won over H/D. Vincent???
  22. That's good to know. I read they have two or three rings in the entire country. Maybe it was training centers. I also read Japan doesn't just like having one skater on top to put all the pressure on. They have nationals camps and their system is so different than the rest of the world. I believe Japan will always have competitive skaters. Even their juniors could probably be competitive in seniors . Their skating is also paid for by the government. So yes, USA puts so many financial difficulties on families and athletes. Especially for skating. Have talent? Great. Have money? No. O well guess you'll miss out then. Being honest here they were never my favorite but S/K? Really?
  23. That's what makes it so sad. They're seen as products and to fill Eteri's pockets. Her skaters have loads of talent but sadly they don't last long. If they focused on skating skills, presentation, technique, and not just points and jumps I believe her skaters can be well rounded and last longer. I miss Yulia the most. Now I miss Alina. It's sad she sees skaters as disposable but I guess since she can pick and Russia has so much talent they'll replace each other. I'm sure the 10 year old doing quads will be the new Trusova after 2022. Then we'll all be here wondering where the hell did Alena, Anna, and Alexandra go? I guess they don't really care how bad it looks. Sponsors are also attracted to careers that last more than two seasons. What's so interesting to see is how other feds have older skaters competing while Russian fed mostly have younger skaters competing at their nationals. Seeing Mariah, Bradie and even Liza skate in their 20s means a skater can skater past puberty with the right coaching.
  24. And also they have money and training centers. I was surprised to learn Japan only has two or three skating rings. And in Russia you have to move to Moscow or Saint Petersburg if you want to skate at a high level. I think Chen is doing well with Yale and skating but not everyone can do it. The biggest issue is skating makes you no money. Especially if you're not on top. So many go to school or focus on college instead. I wish skating and USA fed gave skaters more funding.
  25. Let's ask Tara how does it feel to defend a title. She basically told other skaters get a quad or go home. And Alysa is the only future for USA ladies skating. This is why people remember Kwan more than her. Kwan nine time national champ. 10 year skating career.
