  1. I personally like Keo. I think a lot of what people are seeing as negative with him is just a cultural difference. A lot of the pros are foreign (most are from England, Australia, or Eastern Europe). And even the Eastern European pros, like Karina and Val, came across as harsh and stern in their earlier seasons before learning that in America it comes across better if you learn to loosen up and show your silly side. Keo is South African, which is new for the show, and I think that a lot of his personality "quirks" that we're seeing have to do with how he grew up and his culture. Just my two cents.
  2. I think they go off of who the audience responds well too-they had Lindsay become a pro over Witney at first and had her dancing with Victor Ortiz and he got cut early, then she was back on the troupe for another year while Witney got promoted before getting moved back up again...there's got to be some politics to it, of course, but I think if the audience likes a certain troupe member/dancer then they get a shot at being a pro. I know on So You Think You Can Dance Alan was well received, but Jenna was not by the audience. A lot of people wanted her to go home early on and she was in the bottom for weeks, but the judges always opted to save her because she was so good. Whereas on their season of SYTYCD, Lindsay and Witney are both favorites. It seems like it has more to do with who has good presence and personality on-camera and in interviews too (something Jenna struggles with).
  3. Alan (Paige's partner) is another So You Think You Can Dance transplant, and he was complimented consistently on his excellent partnering work. He's great and I think he'd be such an asset to this show. I'm bored of Mark and find him irritating and I think Alan would be a way way better choice for future season if Mark decides to "take a break".
  4. I'm annoyed that Tom and Ariana still try to sell the narrative that all they did in Vegas was kiss. Is anyone actually buying that? I'm not saying Kristen was in the right for her behavior but for the 2 of them to act like they did nothing wrong and for Ariana to dismiss their 5 year relationship by acting like she's simply the psychotic ex who hated her for no reason is kind of ridiculous. Obviously Tom went to Ariana immediately after him and Kristen broke up so there was more to that relationship than either are letting on. It's comical to me that they try to place all blame on Kristen, who actually started off as the wronged party, regardless of her own actions regarding Jax/others.
  5. As someone who watched ANTM until its CW death, I can honestly say I am THRILLED for Nyle. He was a delight on that show and he's a delight here. I loved his routine.
  6. It really makes me sad when women have this low of a sense of self worth and self esteem. The lines this guy was running and his manipulation was clear to everyone involved, and you could tell this girl knew it but was just so enamored that she's choosing to ignore it. Sigh. I don't see it going well for her.
  7. Oh come on. It has to be Steve. This entire show is about the nostalgia surrounding Full house and putting her back with Steve is part of that.
  8. Okay--I have to also be this person. "How rude" WAS Stephanie's catch phrase. Michelle's, once she could talk, were "You got it, dude" and "Don't call me squirt." I AM a superfan. This was on when I was a younger kid and I loved it. I grew up in Olsen mania and was a huge fan of theirs, so I am absolutely tuning into this.
  9. I love Katie. I think she's gorgeous, but I have to say that I think her animosity towards Lala has to do with the fact that Lala has a gorgeous bod and looks awesome in a bikini and Katie has put on a few pounds over the years.
  10. You're not horrible, because that's what I was trying to say with my comment. I have no faith either. I'm saying the fact that Kristen bought that is sad because no guy ever "just makes out" ever. I never believed Schwartz either with that excuse, or when Tom said him and Ariana "just made out" in the Golden Nugget pool in Vegas. It's a sign of how desperate Kristen is that she even accepted that.
  11. I'm kind of not feeling Ariana this season. I liked her when she first came on the show because while Kristen was obsessed with her and slinging insults at her, Ariana rose above and acted unaffected by it. Now all she contributes to conversation is talking about Kristen, how Scheana's friendship with Kristen bothers her, and making snide remarks about Kristen. It's like the roles have reversed. You got the guy Ariana-let that be enough and act like Kristen doesn't exist if need be. It's tired at this point. Katie's septum ring. I can't. James and Lala are actually dating in real life now (you can look at her Instagram and see) and I feel like that's probably a good pairing. I wanted to shake Kristen when she was buying his bullshit. What 22 year old guy invites a hot girl up to his apartment at 3am to makeout? Is she kidding? I was proud of her in that scene at the bar where she told him she was done and walked out and then wanted to bang my head against the wall when she let him back in.
  12. Agreed with everything said about Candice. Her collection screamed Hot Topic to me and her design aesthetic has all season. I'm kind of irked she made it to Fashion Week at all because I don't get her work. I was glad she came in 4th and felt that was absolutely deserved. Edmond was my favorite all season and I was sorely disappointed in his collection. Sarah D. Bunting is right-you can walk into any Express today and basically find the same kind of thing. I was hoping he'd really pull out the stops but unfortunately that didn't happen. Ashley's collection has issues but as a whole I do feel hers was better than the rest. Kelly didn't take the sophistication level up enough. I know that's not her vibe, but it's NYFW and using cheap-looking club fabric isn't going to cut it. It's a shame because I did like her collection. She just really needed to elevate the level of luxury in this collection and failed to do so. At least Ashley made something colorful, different, and interesting, even if there were some fit issues and some questionable outfits. I'm glad it turned out how it did. All I cared about was Candice NOT winning.
  13. Again-any sympathy that I feel for Penny is thrown off by one question: What on earth possessed her think taking a job at Grey-Sloan was a good idea? Derek was not a low profile doctor there. I don't understand what she was expecting-to be welcomed with open arms? That was just such a bad judgment call that I can't bring myself to feel bad when Meredith is horrible to her-even though her behavior towards Penny was despicable in itself. I can't believe I'm saying this, because I do like Camilla Luddington, but I was glad to see minimal Jo this week. Callie, Karev, Richard, and Bailey are the 4 reasons I still tune in, so as long as we keep featuring those 4 being amazing (like Callie this week and Richard) then I'm good.
  14. I'm going to get picked apart here-I actually liked Ashley's collection. Okay, some of it was old lady, and I agree that the color story didn't read well on-screen and must have looked better in person, but I think what made the judges give her the win was the risks she took with using silhouettes that are considered taboo for plus women to wear and making them look pretty and flattering. There were some fit issues, but one could argue that EVERYONE had those. There were a few outfits that I loved, like the teal dress and opening look. Kelly's was good and I love her as a person, but the whole thing read a little Forever21/Junior to me. She had fun with it and had good ideas, but I couldn't get past the cheap look of the fabric either. I get why the judges put her second because she really screwed herself over by selecting material that looked cheap. Yes, it was a fun collection, and I also love that sequined top, but I see why she didn't win. Edmond's collection I've seen 50 times and Candice just couldn't revive hers. It was too dominatrix. I'm glad with the outcome.
  15. The Heretics are growing on me, but I really hate the Valerie/Stefan/Caroline triangle. That's a convention that's used WAYYY too much on this show, and I'm over it. There are plenty of factors that can break up Caroline and Stefan going forward (not that I want them to, but I appreciate this show needs a dramatic element like a breakup to propel it forward) that don't involve another damn love triangle. It's so annoying, and I'm disappointed that they've included it. If Valerie was so important to Stefan in the past (The v-card factor aside) then why are we just now hearing about it? I'm not buying that it'd be enough of a reason to break them up, even with the dead baby secret, because although it would suck that he kept that from Caroline, it's not as though there's anything either party can do about the situation now. Plus, seeing as Stefan just found out about the unborn child himself, that's really more of a heartache for Valerie than anyone else involved, so as much as it would stink keeping that from Caroline because Valerie asked him to, I'd have to think that given what we know about Caroline she wouldn't use that as a reason to end things. The whole thing kind of feels tacked-on to me. There are plenty of interesting plot points surrounding the Heretics vs. Stefan and co that this whole love triangle is not necessary at all. The saving grace for me this season are the flash forwards at the beginning of each episode. I'm so curious what went down to have things where they are during those scenes and can't wait to see it all unfold.
  16. I was starting to like Laurel. Then she resurrected Sara and insisted on keeping her alive despite everyone's warnings and clear evidence that it was a terrible idea. I wanted to bang my head against the wall during the hospital scene with her "What about me" crap. Laurel? Had you just let your sister rest peacefully, then Thea would have never been attacked in the first place. I wish I could just fully get on Laurel's side but this turn of events has frustrated me.
  17. I have to say, I see potential in this show. I agree that picking such a specific year is problematic in terms of being factually accurate, but I don't think the show is taking itself that seriously. Further, I don't even think it's targeting an audience that would have been old enough during '82 to remember specifics. I think it's targeting people who loved Chuck Bass. I'm one of them, and seeing Ed Westwick play a sociopathic serial killer is perfect for Tuesday night guilty pleasure. I'm into it and will stick by it until it inevitably gets cancelled.
  18. I may be in the minority here, but I didn't mind Ashley's looks. I was plus-sized for most of my life before I lost weight, and I think her designs are interesting and at least make me think that plus sized women could dress that way if they wanted to. I didn't hate it. But the flower crowns are terrible and some of the proportions are off. Edmond's collection was my favorite and I felt the judges were way too hard on him. Kelly's collection looked junior to me, and Candice's was just atrocious. I felt sorry for her. Way way way too over the top. I felt like I was looking at costume designs for a gothic stage production. There's just no way I would ever wear anything she showed.
  19. If anything I think that this three-part special solidified that the Giudice clan is the pulse of RHONJ. That family could feasibly carry a show on their own in a way that the Manzos really can't. Manzo'd with Children is a painful show-the only storyline this entire season is Lauren and Vito's wedding. I'm over it. This was interesting to watch and I do enjoy this family. I'm another long time RHONJ viewer that is unapologetically a fan of the Giudices. The crimes that they committed are definitely not okay, and I'm not excusing them, but there is something charming and entertaining about them as reality stars. Their girls are adorable (even the difficult Milania, who I think everyone is too hard on), and Tre and Joe are funny. I could do without the Gorgas and their constant digs at how Tre is responsible for ripping the family apart, but I think what this special showed was that Andy does not plan on getting rid of Tre any time soon. He knows she's the moneymaker for this show and he's going to support her 100%. Casting decisions will be made around her and a redemption arc is coming next season of RHONJ. So those who are opposed to that better stop watching.
  20. I think the problem here was not the concept or the cast-everyone acted their roles well with the material they were given, and I do love the "Bonnie and Clyde" element. I think this show has potential and could be fun. The writing was very cliche-ridden and conventional, and I think that's what probably turned people off. With that being said, I'm hesitant to judge purely based on the writing of the pilot because as has been proven to me by many shows (Once Upon a Time, for example), some shows take awhile to hit their stride and find their legs. I just hope that in the coming weeks we see improvement otherwise it'll be cancelled. And Ed Westwick was the shining star of the premiere. I thought he did an excellent job. I'd love to see him in another successful series. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the writers table gets more creative.
  21. Again with Melissa making passive aggressive comments all episode about how she's "not approved" to see Teresa. Even while the woman is in prison, Melissa uses the opportunity to make herself look like aunt of the year and Teresa look like the evil shrew keeping the family apart. It also came out with the "I hope Teresa can put this behind us and keep us a family when she gets out of jail." I couldn't deal with ANY of her talking heads this episode. Granted, Teresa was a complete jerk to her brother and Melissa. No question. But I love how the Gorgas have never acknowledged their role in how strained things got between them. It's not only up to TERESA to keep the family together Melissa. It's also up to you to maybe not make passive aggressive digs while the woman is in jail and can't defend herself? I mean after the past few years I wouldn't put you on my visitors list either. Any visitors I would get, I would want to be my kids and my husband. Just a thought. UGH she's so self absorbed and fake. It nauseates me.
  22. This was the Grey's I really like, and Ellen Pompeo acted the heck out of her meltdown towards Amelia. I personally don't feel bad for Penny. She was dating Callie and knew what hospital she worked at, and she agreed to go to a dinner with Callie and her colleagues? Yes, it's a larger hospital, but someone in that group was bound to know Derek. I don't see why she'd even put herself in that situation without at least mentioning in to Callie first. Not to mention, you were going to go work at the hospital? Where you were the doctor when one of their star attendings died? I don't get that at all. My sympathy kind of ran out. And when did Jo become a "bad" resident? I always thought none of the doctors had an issue and that she was fine. Not as good as Stephanie, but competent. Now they're acting like she's sub-par out of nowhere, and I don't get it. I was tempted to applaud after Stephanie let her have it though, because Jo is whiny and needs to take accountability for her own job performance, not put it on her co-workers for outshining her. Sadly this show is still a shell of what it once was. Also, Jackson flirting with Stephanie right in front of April was kind of uncool.
  23. I don't hate Candice. She's fine--her work is mediocre at best and I would have sent her last night just because she took no risk with her dress and created something boring. Plus, I don't think as a whole her designs were as good as the others' to go to fashion week, but whatever. I see why the put her there. What irks me about her is the talking heads. She comes across condescending and smug. It's not a good look. It could just be editing, but I don't love what she has to say about the work of other designers. I'm disappointed she's in the finale because I liked the other three designers way better. Maybe Edmond's dress was ugly, but at least he took a chance, as did Ashley. Candice sent down black and boring, just like she's done all season. Snooze.
  24. I may be in the minority here, but I'm actually liking this season a lot better than last. Perhaps it's because Elena is gone, because having every storyline centered on her and her safety was getting tiresome to me. I kind of like how family dynamics between Lily, Damon, and Stefan is at the forefront now. Granted, this show is still a shell of what it once was, but compared to the past couple of seasons I'm seeing an improvement. The only thing that is irking me is the Valerie/Stefan love story from the past. It's tiresome to me and it seems like a ploy to just create yet another love triangle. We've had enough of those on this show to last for quite some time. I'd rather see something besides another girl tear about Stefan and Caroline, or another guy (Enzo, Tyler, etc). That's a device that has been overused on this show, and I'd like to see the writers get more creative.
  25. Melissa was laying it on super thick this episode. I can't get over how many times she made passive aggressive digs about how she wasn't on Teresa's email chain because "there was no more room" and them talking about it taking six months for Joe to get approved to visit. I appreciate that it must be kind of shitty that Teresa didn't include either of them on her list of visitors or on her email chain, seeing that they're family. But neither party can deny that things have been terrible between the families for the past several years. Why would Teresa include them? Things might be getting better but they're not fixed. Maybe she doesn't want to see the two family members who talked a bunch of crap on her on TV visit her in prison. I don't agree with that, but that's probably what it is and Joe and Melissa use it to make it look like they're the doting family who cares while Teresa is the shrew keeping them away. Spare me. The woman is in jail. Leave her alone.
