Right now I think App;lebees is my favorite. The food looks good and I love the music.

My episode was interrupted with breaking news. I suppose that I can watch it online, but is it worth it? I wasn't impressed with what I saw so far - it's just going to end with more "poor Hailey" for saving the perp and not the victim, right?
Also, could Jay have cared any less about his wife almost drowning and freezing? He gave her such a lukewarm hug and wasn't even the first to check on her when she went to go change her clothes in the locker room. Guess the honeymoon is over!
So was mine! I'm hoping the entire episode will be on demand. I thought it was one of PD's better episodes.

I like Violet and Hawkins as a couple. Gallo is too childish.

My guess is they don't mention who Phil is so you will go to the app to get an explanation. Click bait.
Good thinking!

Someone upthread said Phil is the name the app uses to help users find a job, if I understand correctly.
Thank you. It would have been helpful if they mentioned that in the ad but they didn't ask me for my input LOLK

I keep seeing a stupid commercial for ZipRecruiter (I think that's the name). There are people jumping, dancing, celebrating and thanking PHIL. Who the heck is Phil? I don't get it.

I've had more than enough Olympics.
There are only certain events that interest me and I'm tired of it being on TV all day and night.

Does anybody here dip their pizza in Hidden Valley Ranch creamy salad dressing (as the commercial suggests)? Or any salad dressing? It seems kind of ... unappetizing to me. Pizza costs a fortune now (average $20-30 in my area for a large depending on toppings), so I'm just wondering why would anyone want to smother the taste of the pizza with salad dressing.
I don't understand those commercials or anyone who would consider dipping pizza in Hidden Valley Ranch. That sounds disgusting.

I missed all those commercials and must be part of a very small minority. Since I hate football, I didn't watch the Super Bowl and I never watched the Sopranos either. The only reason I'm posting this is in case there are others like me out there, I don't want them to feel they're alone. LOL

I like the new Farmers commercial. A man gets into an accident and tells his dog to go get help. The dog jumps out the window then turns around and jumps back in and hits the cell phone to call for help. The dog is very cute.

I'm not sure who writes these commercials. The latest stupidity imo is the Chevy commercial where the hubby asks his wife what she wants for lunch. He suggests sushi but she says she had sushi yesterday. A while later he suggests seafood and she replies," you know I don't like seafood.". Correct me if I am wrong but isn't most sushi seafood?
Yes it is. I thought that commercial was stupid too.

I finally got to see the Walter the Cat commercial for Silverados and I liked it.
ETA: Colin Jost is very funny. He does the Weekend Update news spoof on SNL.

I thought those Medicare Advantage commercials would end on December 7th. That's what the early ones said was the cutoff date. The explanations I read in the other thread answered my question about zip codes. I just couldn't understand why a Medicare benefit was dependent on your zip code. The reality is that it's not really a Medicare benefit at all. It's some insurance plan posing as Medicare. I hate those commercials! I'm sure there are many seniors who fell for their sales pitch. I don't know why they're allowed on TV. Shame on the celebrities who appear in them!

Thank you all for answering my question.
I'll move this over in Small Talk

I'm with you. I hate those commercials.
Does anyone know why a Medicare benefit should be dependent on your zip code? I'm not saying that it's not true but that it just seems wrong to me.

The entire population of the United States consists of white settlers? This is some truly impressive erasure of approximately 40% of the US population, including decidedly non-settler Indigenous people.
Incidentally, that does not describe me, however; I don't think being a white settler would preclude someone from seeing the irony in the Dutton's defense of their land.
I apologize. I didn't intend to include the word "white." My point was that everyone living in the US is living on indigenous land.

I was surprised to read the news about Julian McMahon tonight. It's odd for a lead to leave a show mid-season. It has to be a nice paycheck. They'll have to replace him quickly if he's leaving after next week's filming. I don't suppose we'll see new episodes until after the Olympics but I'm hoping we'll find out who will take his place soon.

If you exchange that for "Nobody hangs up on Wallace Boden", said in that amazing deep baritone, we'd buy it, even if he was just a garden-variety Battalion Chief. She's confident, pissed off, and not about to roll over and take someone she cares about getting crapped on unfairly. For all her faults, I seriously liked that move, and what followed. We can debate the Gabbification of Kidd's character, but in this case I'm squarely behind her.
Do you really believe Stella suddenly "cares about" Pelham? She was hostile and rude to him when she came back. I just wish she's go away forever.
ETA: I have to admit her actions with the Deputy Commissioner surprised me but I still don't like her.

So, I am dragging through the last episodes of this season .......................................... Big fail, showrunner. Big fail.
It's too bad you feel that way. You're missing out on a good show.
I love Yellowstone and will continue to watch as long as it's on TV.
Needless to say, I disagree with your post on so many levels.

The Kayak commercial where the daughter tells her boyfriend not to mention Kayak because apparently her mother is a Kayak conspiracy theorist or something.
REALLY hate that one, because conspiracy theorists are nothing to laugh at, especially now.
Conspiracy theorist? Is that what she's supposed to be? I came to vent about that commercial and was thrilled to see your post. I intended to say that I didn't get it but thanks to you I do now. It is the dumbest commercial I've seen in a long time.
1 hour ago, mojoween said:As soon as she says “open your EYES” complete with hand gestures I am really wishing for that invention mentioned above where you can punch people through the TV. Good job, Kayak! I will never ever use your service.
I agree with you. I feel like throwing something at the TV when I see it.

so did jamie start behaving like a dick hoping to catch the imposter? or was he just behaving like a dick for no apparent reason and catching the imposter was just dumb luck? his behavior just seemed way out of character — and i didn’t get the impression that it was a means to an end (catching the guy). have to say, that ovation at the end made me want to puke!
2 hours ago, Msample said:No, he’s invoking a seldom used rule to buff up his bid to get promoted to lieutenant. He had a talk with his CO before informing his officers of the change.
Jamie explained it at the end. There was a fake NYPD officer gaining access and stealing guns from the locker rooms. That fake cop was caught because he obviously didn't know about the "salute" rule.
I'm guessing that they didn't disclose that when he met with his CO because they didn't want us to know and wanted the men to complain. If Jamie had told his CO then our reaction would have been different.

Say What?: Commercials That Made Us Scratch Our Heads

I'm on the north shore of Long Island and see those same commercials. I have no idea why though. There are some homes on horse properties so I'm assuming there's a need for horse supplies. I did a search and there's exactly ONE Tractor Supply location on Long Island.
