  1. Yeah, I don't get it either. The bar is on the verge of failing and Emma and Lyn are making choices to try to keep it afloat. They might have to sacrifice some of the "purity" of it, but they'll keep it in business. They aren't outsiders trying to push the locals out. The alternative is that the business goes under and they have to sell it to someone who is an outsider who will turn it into something completely different.
  2. I think she was showing off that she knows French. Dépassé is an actual word and Luann is pretentious as hell. In case anyone's interested, the video of Feelin' Jovani is up at youtube. Color me surprised that Luann allowed anyone else to be in the video, but I guess that means Bravo paid for it.
  3. Is the party going to be over by 9? Why can't those who want to go to the show go to the show and then go to Ramona's party afterwards?
  4. It really is. I still sometimes cry over my dog and he had to be put down ten years ago (like Bambi, he also had cancer). I think I'd rather watch Bethenny screaming at someone, it'd be easier to take.
  5. That would certainly explain why she lives in a hotel. I don't think she cares if she sucks, people showing up to see her is all the validation she needs.
  6. I'm sorry, but how do you come back to the table after an outburst like that? And by that I don't mean "how do you face your friends?" because these women are all crazy, I mean, "how do you show your face to these poor strangers all around you who have had their own dinners disrupted?" Go the hell home.
  7. Tlāloc has a lot of nerve getting mad at Mari for the fact that Johnny gave him a very deserved beat down. Dude, what you did (video taping Mari without her consent and then sending out the video) could get you arrested. If the worst thing that happens to you is that Johnny kicks your ass, consider yourself lucky.
  8. I really liked the use of "Tiny Dancer," but I would have to go with "Your Song" as the best musical moment (though it had the advantage going in since it's my favorite Elton John song). I thought the friendship between Elton and Bernie Taupin was really well drawn and well played by Taron Egerton and Jamie Bell, though I did sort of laugh at the repeated assertion that the two have never fought since the film shows them arguing on a couple of occasions.
  9. I thought Luann was strapped for cash (compared to the other women, not compared to, say, me). Isn't that why she asked Bethenny (or Dennis - I'm not really clear on who she was looking for a loan from) to buy her a house?
  10. I wonder if the people who are already present in a restaurant whenever the Housewives go out to eat anywhere are warned beforehand that things are about to get loud and ridiculous.
  11. Jesus Christ, Bethenny. Keep some tampons in your purse and find some other way to signal that you aren't an old crone like the rest of them (save Tinsley).
  12. A 180, Luann. A 360 takes you right back to where you started.
  13. They're hung over. I'm not sure why Bethenny would try to direct Tinsley towards a 57 year old guy when Tins is supposedly mulling whether or not she wants to have a baby (not that men have a window for having children the way that women do, but I don't think there are a ton of men who are looking to do the baby thing when they're pushing 60). And I'm not sure why Tinsley would be interested in a guy who is simultaneously texting two women who are in the same house together. Is he texting Sonja, too? Still interested in Bethenny? Wants to give Luann a shot? Pick one person from the group, dude.
  14. Why are so many scenes from this season being shown as "flashbacks"? I don't recall past seasons featuring so many flashbacks which weren't actual flashbacks to earlier seasons.
  15. Like when Bethenny had a tantrum about Sonja's "Tipsy Girl" venture and Dorinda disinvited Sonja to the Berkshires and Luann, who was staying with Sonja at the time, went to the Berkshires without her? Or when Luann got with Tom and gave not a single damn that Sonja might have some feelings about that, considering her own fling with Tom? Or when Luann went home with Harry while Sonja was still hung up on him? Luann once pulled Sonja's dress down when she was drunkenly flashing the camera, I'll give her that, but I'm blanking on other examples of Lu being there for Sonja (not saying it didn't happen, just saying that all the past seasons kind of blend together after a while and many of the finer details escape me).
  16. Ha! Mario fully justified his presence in this episode with that crack to Bethenny about exes finding a way to get along.
  17. Hahahahahahahahah what???? Didn't Lu once have to spend a season demoted to "friend of" status? I think I can see that happening again, especially if the reason they can't go on an international trip is because of Lu's legal status.
  18. Hey, Luanne? I get that you feel that they aren't supporting you/building you up, but ask yourself this: can they ever count on you to support them/build them up when they need it? You get what you give.
  19. Man, LVP doesn't even need to be on the show and it's still approx. 35% filled with clips of her.
  20. How many of them does Rinna think she can "eliminate" before she's the one they start to turn on?
  21. Can they just let the whole cast go and remake this as a show about Kyle's dogs?
  22. This is one of the things that baffles me about Bethenny. When people are arguing, sometimes they lose their cool and start yelling. With Bethenny it never seems like she's pushed to her breaking point and then starts yelling; it seems like yelling is the strategy that she goes in with and I don't understand how she doesn't realize that the person who's yelling (especially when the other person keeps their cool) just ends up looking like the person who's crazy. She's setting herself up to look like a fool when she goes from 0 to 100 like that.
  23. I'm not saying that Kim was disrespectful that night. I'm saying that there are several instances over many seasons of the show (and outside the show) where Kim acted in ways that could be described as crude, rude and disrespectful and that for her to act as though she's in a position to be aghast by anyone else's behavior is laughable. She might not have been wrong at the party, but her trying to call out Rinna as if Rinna's little performance came out of nowhere demonstrates a complete lack of insight into her own behavior over the years. No matter what the situation, Kim always seems to see herself as the victim and never acknowledges the way that she has contributed to making these situations so toxic in the first place. Kim seems to believe that she gets to do and say whatever she wants and no one should ever get to call her on it, but that when someone slaps back at her then everyone should come to her defense. I don't like Rinna. I don't believe that what she said at the party was appropriate (and her continuing to insist on being "in character" afterwards was annoying), nor do I think it was fair to the rest of the cast to make things so awkward and uncomfortable. But I'm not here for a Kim Richards pity party.
  24. "Sex on a waterbed!" Every time I think of that fight, I giggle at Ramona being so specifically scandalized by the thought of sex on a waterbed. C'mon Ramona. You're over 60, are you telling me that you never had sex on a waterbed when they were in their heyday? Regarding her discomfort at the idea of lesbianism, I remember that before Ramona and Mario were divorced there was a rumor that they had a casual throuple type thing going with Sonja (which, imo, completely tracks with the way Sonja acts around him even today). I've always thought that Ramona's attitude towards lesbianism/bisexuality (or "gender liquid" in Sonja's parlance) amounted to protesting too much. I'm not suggesting that Ramona is a lesbian (or even bisexual), but I definitely think that Sonja had a regular guest starring role in the Singer bed and that Ramona's, as you say, cartoonish discomfort is her overcompensating so that no one would think she's anything less than 100% heterosexual.
  25. Not that any of these women have even remotely good taste in men, but who wants to hang out with guys that Luann has picked out? No thanks.
