  1. Lea is too cute in this interview: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OqmUo3-qdi4 It's nice to see that she has made so many new friends. That is one of my favorite parts of the show seeing the new friendships that come out of the chaos.
  2. So Switched at Birth started up again today which means Lea is going to be pulling double duty. It's not really an ideal situation but I'm hoping that she can pull it off. Also if you go on her twitter there is a short video of her and Artem practicing their dance for next week.
  3. So it looks like the switch week paired with shit dances will probably pop up again next season because the ratings actually went up this week. It's interesting to see how Derek teaches his celebrities. According to Mark and Sadie he pretty much just comes up with things on the spot or will have the dance set and then come in the next day and throw something new in. I can't imagine learning in that fashion that would scare me to death. I also don't think that's a great way to teach a beginner because they don't know the basics and it's hard to have to keep teaching a new section of a dance AND fix their posture and other technical issues. I get the idea of thinking on your toes(ie the instant dance which Mark pointed out) but I think this is why he has to do so much with props or covering up of his partners. I also think it's the reason why Bethany isn't comfortable like she was with Mark.
  4. From The Regina Monologues when Homer is in jail. "It's a good thing I'm leaving before I went nuts. Goodbye sparkly elves!" *Sparkly elves appear* "Goodbye Homer
  5. I am sure this will be unpopular but I loved the Behind the Music themed episod that they did. I especially love Marge telling Homer to go poop in his hat. Another favorite of mine is A Fish Called Selma. I still remember all the words from the Planet Of The Apes musical.
  6. I wouldn't be surprised if because of her previous experience with dance that Lea is trying so hard to please everyone. I cannot imagine having someone like Barishnakoff tell me that I wasn't right for dancing when it was all that I wanted to do. I think she wants to be perfect because people know her background and expect her to be perfect or really, really good. Also I think it's just human nature to want to be liked and have people vote for you. She knows she needs good scores to help her along because she doesn't have the fanbase to help her along. Allison I don't think will last long enough to learn how to be a good partner/teacher. I also don't forsee her being asked back which isn't a loss.
  7. Wow I totally missed that. Probably because I couldn't stand Caseys character.
  8. I stopped watching right after the fiance/boyfriend go fired. Caseys character is not cute or quirky or whatever they are trying to make her she is just obnoxious. The boyfriend is an idiot for not telling her that he lied to his boss about going to Mexico so it's his own fault that he got fired. Nobody on the show was likeable or interesting enough for me to stick around. It's too bad too because I loved Casey on Happy Endings and I love Tim Meadows.
  9. I'd love to see Sandra Bullock, Carol Burnett, Conan O'brien, Dana Delany, Deon Sanders, Aaron Piersol(olympic swimmer), Kate Mulgrew, Matt Bomer, Neil Patrick Harris, Phylicia Rashad, Reiko Aylesworth(Michelle on 24)
  10. I found this tidbit from Glamour Magazine pretty cool: "Val was in a little bit of pain post-show (mainly because of his back), but was so proud of Lea. So much so that he mentioned once DWTS ends next month, he wants to continue the conversation about working together and mentioned finding a way to have her collaborate with Artem for Sway 2.0 in December."
  11. I'm really hoping Len will be back next week I am really tired of all this as he would put it "mucking about" with the judges. I think this show fails miserably when they don't have a knowledgable judge because the viewers don't know what to look for so they need someone to point it out. I know Julianne is a ballroom dancer but she has yet to show that she's anything other than Carrie Annes parrot.
  12. It's funny that I thought the cutaway from after Lea and Vals dance was just poor camera work when it turns out that Val was motorboating Lea at the end of the dance. I cannot believe the show wouldn't air that but they had no problem airing the burlesque dance earlier that night. This show is just so wierd and makes no sense.
  13. I think I know why Lea looks a little hesitant to the judges and viewers at times. It's because she is trying to conserve her energy throughout the dance. According to her she isn't in shape and if that's the truth then it's going to hurt her dancing. I'm surprised that Artem hasn't worked on that with her because I think that could make a big difference in her dances.
  14. I think it was super classy of Val to give a shoutout to the troupe dancers that helped them and some of the other groups. I also think he did a really good job with Lea.
  15. I had no idea that Cheryl and Alfonso were friends before the show. They have known each other for about 8 years now. I wonder if that is why they didn't get paired together in the first place. I think they did an excellent job together and the scores should have been better. I liked the chemistry they had as well. I do like him with Whitney too so I'm not too sad that he's not going to be with Cheryl next week.
  16. I'm hoping that there was enough of a drop in viewers that they decide they won't ever try these dance styles on switch night (or maybe any other night) again. By the way if you want to know what some of the couples are dancing next week you can find out in the media thread.
  17. I didn't see him with anyone after his season with Shawn Johnson. I just noticed this season that he was very different than the last time I saw him and it was a pleasant surprise.
  18. So I was watching the after show interviews and some of the couples revealed what they are dancing:
  19. One big thing Carrie Ann missed in her critique of Bethanys hip hop was that it was missing the snap/pop that hip hop routines have. When you hit a move you HIT it. You throw all your intensity into every position every pose. It was amazing to see how many times Julianne either referred to Carrie Anns comments or used the same phrases as Carrie Ann. I mean I just don't understand it she knows how to dance so why the hell is she using the critique of a judge who judges like crap. Also the two of them shouting "it's week 5" got on my nerves real fast. My mom was semi watching the show while talking with my grandmother and afterwards she also commented about how creepy Michael was.
  20. If the show was trying to help further their finale agenda last night they did a horrible job at it. You don't lay into the weaker dancers on the week they are without their partner you save that for the week when they are back with their partner. People are going to feel moreseo for those that had a harder time and their fans are going to vote double time. I understand wanting to start seperating the wheat from the chaff but this is not the time. Then to hand out just ok comments to the better dancers you stand a chance of losing someone you didn't want to lose or someone you were going to use along the way to prop another couple up. Also the judging panel looks ridiculous seriously judging dances that they truly know nothing about. Just because Julianne was in a movie titled burlesque doesn't mean she knows all it entails. Carrie Ann and Bruno may know about hip hop but they sure as hell know nothing about Bollywood dancing or Flamenco.
  21. I think with the fact that Michael got a 5s for his dance is going to motivate his fans. Antonio was in the bottom last week if I remember correctly so I could see his fans working to save him because he had another off week. I think it's going to come down to Tommy and Jonathan. Tommys dance wasn't as memorable and the scores weren't great Jonathan didn't do well enough and even though the judges hated it I don't think he has the fanbse (nor does Peta) to save him. One thing that is going to also screw with the votes is the fact that I have a feeling some people voted for the wrong couples last night. If you want your pro to stay in place you have to vote using the celebrities number (ie: if you want Val to stay vote for Janel, if you want Cheryl to stay you vote for Antonio). I wouldn't be surprised if people voted for Sadie wanting Derek to stay in only to find out that they didn't help Derek at all they helped Mark.
  22. Last night I think showed that Janel isn't the dancer that Val has made us believe she is. When I look at her Broadway number compared to Leas theres a big diference. Leas had a ton more dancing content and not just cutsey movements or cheeky looks. Also the pacing was much quicker than Janels Broadway number. Val is a good Broadway choreographer and should consider it as a future career move. Also I know a lot of people saw jive in his dance last night but I don't think that made it less of a Broadway dance. Broadway is open to interpretation and really is just movement to music.
  23. I could see Jonathan going because of the pro factor. Allison doesn't have a strong fanbase and that combined with his scores pretty much means certain death. Antonio may survive this week thanks to Cheryls fanbase. As for Micahel he has a solid fanbase and doesn't need a popular pro to keep him in longer than he should be.
  24. If they have a Halloween theme week this year do you think Julianne will dress in blackface again? Speaking of theme weeks is next week Latin week? I'm thinking it is because they showed Pitbull.
  25. I feel like I am losing my mind because never would I have though that Mark was the better partner and choreographer when it came down to him and Derek. I wish that Mark and Bethany were partners not only because I think she shined tonight with Mark but because I actually think they have better dance chemistry.
