  1. Happy Thanksgiving! I was happy to notice that Eric finally got a more substantial frame for that portrait of Stephanie.
  2. Belfonte has peppermint stick ice cream out now. It was on sale, so of course, I had to buy some. It's going to last me until January! Naturally, what to serve with it, but chocolate shortbread cookies. I tried a recipe from King Arthur Flour, as I like their recipe for regular shortbread. I'm not too pleased with them. I cut the recipe in half and some of the measurements were tricky. That's probably why.
  3. Oh, I think the real Steven Tyler would be more than happy to bend (Kim) over backwards to help out a Kardashian in need! LOL!
  4. I finally figured out who LG looks like. I saw a photo of a young Nicole Kidman in a magazine and there it was.
  5. On a previous episode, a therapist came to talk to Kourtney or maybe it was both Kourtney and Scott -- I don't remember. Anyway, the female therapist had more than a passing resemblance to Steven Tyler (today's version.)
  6. Who was that therapist and what have they done with "Steven Tyler?" Funniest moment when Khloe was folding that pair of jeans, When she held them up, the backside was completely stretched out.
  7. I noticed that she's taken to now wearing bangs (wig?) that cover the top half of her face. Such a shame. I remember back in the day I used to lament that I'd give anything to look like Hunter Tylo. As they say... "Be careful what you wish for..." While I am slowly warming up to TK as an actor, I have to agree with the posters above about his appearance. Today, especially in that scene with Katie, he looked like he'd just awakened from a three-day bender. His shirt looked dirty (anybody else notices the heavy sweat-pit stains) and wrinkled and was tucked in on one side and hanging out on the other. Plus, it was straining across his back. His hair also looked messier and greasier than ever. I'd never heard of TK until he joined B&B. Did his other soap alter egos look so gross? Does he look that way off-screen like at a public appearance? Even though I can't stand Maya, I thought she looked beautiful today. I liked that dress and the hair extensions. Why is Carter always conveniently hanging around where Maya happens to be? Does he still have feelings for her? If I were him, I wouldn't give her the time of day, especially with the way she rubs his face in that she's with Rick, he's filthy rich, etc., etc. I was disappointed that Rick was upfront with Maya. I was hoping he'd lead her on or "cheat" on her with Caroline, have Maya accidentally find out and that a huge meltdown and/or be pregnant. I seriously hope that Caroline mulls things over and dumps his sorry ass. I am on the fence with JY. At least he stopped talking with that quasi-clipped "Eastern boarding school" affectation. I am in the sparsely populated camp that preferred KL.
  8. I liked KL, too. He was more believable in the asshole mode. JY just seems too young and Ken-dollish when portraying a dick.
  9. If that's the case, then Nancy needs to pass that trick along to Ina Garten. A happy medium between Ina's mess-hall quantities and Giada's stingy portions.
  10. I wondered the same thing. The meal that Nancy prepared looked like it would feed six, maybe eight. I have to say that today's show seemed better than usual. The storyline made sense and Nancy gave some pretty good tips, like when she was making the roux/sauce for the potatoes.
  11. B&B has a track record of prematurely wrapping up or completely abandoning the more compelling storylines (e.g. murder of Senor Montemayor.) I hope that this isn't the case here; Monday Rick dumps Maya and goes home to Caroline, all's right with the world. The writers, actors and the viewers have too much invested in this! Not another Dope-inspired Thanksgiving... Groan...
  12. I was watching one of today's repeats featuring Thanksgiving leftovers and thought how awful that turkey spring roll would taste with the competing flavors of rosemary-sage-citrus and Asian flavors. Not to mention that dipping sauce with cranberry sauce and hot chili oil. Shades of Robin Miller!
  13. Jalapenos bring forth the fire of Satan.
  14. I have to agree with that. I didn't care for Emma Bell on "Dallas." Plus, I think she looks too old to play Hope. Bridget, maybe. She looks more angst-ridden than Ashley Jones did. Remember, Bridget has been through a LOT!!! Man, I loved seeing Ridge getting the crap beaten out of him. There are more bombs going off being Maya than on a battlefield. I laughed at the patronizing attitude she took with the other models today. Speaking of modeling, KM looked ridiculous stomping down that 6' runway. The dress didn't help. I thought that one was particularly ugly. The one I liked best was the one from the Caridge drawing board -- the cream-colored dress with the black lace bodice, except I didn't like the drapey thing going across the back of the shoulders. "Gloria" can take the next train straight back to Genoa City. What a bitch. Please don't let this be another cross-over romance for Eric. I can't WAIT for tomorrow. Looks like Eric is going to give Rick the boot!
  15. And.... JUST because I say so.
  16. I finished up one of my favorite recipes from Giada DeLaurentiis. Roasted cauliflower with parmesan cream sauce and pancetta. I don't make that very often because it is so rich, but the weather has turned so cold and gray. It's a nice cozy comfort dish.
  17. I like "My Favorite" by Salma Hayek's Nuance line for CVS. I just went out and bought the matching lipstick today.
  18. THIS. Finally. This was the first day that I got totally behind TK as Ridge. As I was watching, for a brief moment I thought about Ronnnnn Mosssss in those scenes and said, "You know what? He couldn't cut it." I had to replay that final scene with TK and DD several times. I thought it was that good. As much as I despise Maya, I am glad they are giving Karla Mosley more to do (since Bell obviously plans to keep her around as she's lasted this long) than make doe eyes. I think that KM has also stepped up her game as well becaue she's really making me hate on her character. Another day without Hope? PRICELESS!!!
  19. The show has been rocking lately, that is when we get to escape from the "kiddie pool." Even Maya is interesting to watch. I can't wait for the Bill/Ridge showdown tomorrow. I want to see Ridge take a dive over the roof like Rick did years ago.
  20. Didn't Punky introduce herself in the first episode as a Master Baker? I'd think she'd know better than to use whole spices as decorations. Does Terra put bourbon in EVERYTHING? Military dude with the "big guns" can go anytime. He annoys me the most. He needs to go be on a show hosted by Robert Irvine so they can compare biceps.
  21. Golden chocolate chip was my favorite. Bring them back! Bring them back!
  22. I'm having Barefoot Contessa's lemon chicken with broccoli and bow ties. One of my favorites.
  23. The British judge is Lorraine Pascal and she has a few shows on The Cooking Channel.
  24. Wow, Maya doesn't have a shred of self-respect, does she? Yep. She's acting just like a mistress. Rick looks and acts so robotic when he's with Maya. So does Liam putting on the necklace and Hope grabbing Wyatt's hand now mean that all is hunky-dory and everybody has moved on? (I'm glad we were spared the sex scenes with Rick and Maya and possibly Ivy and Liam. I don't pick up a lot of chemistry between either couple.)
