wouldn't it be great if the bell rang and some of the Utopia-Europe people walked in?

production folks have tweeted that today (Wednesday) there will be big changes. I like "The Gate" because it sets the scene for the show, but also because it could be a thought-provoking painting all by itself (even if the show did not exist). if you did not know about the show, you might look at the painting and assume you are outside of utopia, there is a wall around utopia, the gate to get in is heavy/sturdy/strong, and that important gate is closed.

I've been a member since 1999 and have over 15 transactions. I want "The Gate" ! ---------------------------- someone found a large bone, and it fascinates the Utes. especially the fact that it still has hair on it. most likely a cow bone, but they prefer to think of it as being from a bear. it passed the smell test. don't waste it - it's a soup bone! oh, yeah. some minor twerking took place

that sounds right. I doubt production wants their Utes aggravated or disrupted by a random visitor. also, probably don't want visitors with an agenda. (farmer lefty and beekeeper are not random visitors.)

maybe they will do a zappo's move, and offer the Utes some cash if they will leave. theory being that production would prefer to have Utes that want to be there. and those who turn down the cash and stay will be the ones who really want Utopia to work.

maybe "your neighbors" are going to be part of the show. the folks from the neighboring commune show up ready to rumble, but Nikki talks them into trying some peace-yoga instead. so they merge! the new tribe bonds with a snack of fresh honeycomb, followed by a toast with stolen champagne.

I missed that the first time. probably shows up when she is holding back a silent internal SCREAM.

about Tony's deal with Parker: last years spot is already scouted and proven, the washplant is sitting there, and that spot is NOT mined out. of course someone should keep mining it, and of course that person should be Parker. if it's profitable, mine it all. then move on. leaving it to start a new claim would be expensive, a little risky, would leave gold UNmined at last years spot, waste time, AND leave tony with a partially-mined claim to dispose of.

Fred won't be on the show this season. iirc, money differences Todd sitting around a campfire, wishing and dreaming. oh, look. that campfire is in the yard in front of his house. why wait till warm weather to have a meeting with his former team? that's a couple months too late. when the Hoffmans were making the deal on that claim, the weather sure looked good enough to go mining. so they are WAY WAY behind. probably part of the plan, to add some drama to their mining. also, they are starting with "nothing". so here we go again. are they going to have to to find a trommel/wash plant? hey, that sounds familiar. was that a problem in an earlier season? maybe? would a phone call to the guy who went bust on that claim be a good idea? glad to see Dave Turin join a different team. but that phone call scene at the end of the show makes me wonder if he will return. Parker: who drives 3000 miles to get told NO in a brief conversation....then turn around and drives back. ? I guess those hydraulic riffles were crafted just right. no adjusting, just pop them in and run for days before you know if they are working right.

!!!! maybe they will be evacuated due to a pretend grass fire. taken to a tropical island, they are divided into two groups. every two days they have a group vs. group contest, and the losing group has to vote one person off. eventually, only one Ute remains. the Champion Ute. (aka Chute) it could work.

I finally (!) saw someone say they had GPS coordinates of the good spot that they wanted to return to. did that underwater 'machine' stay underwater? I missed seeing it dragged ashore. was it last season when they kind of lost it for a while? GPS would have helped then, too. whatever happened to Ian Foster ? he was on season 1 (guy who quit his gov job)
