  1. I think Michael Costello could definitely be put in the PR success category. He created possibly the most famous design of any of the alumni thus far.
  2. For the week of 11/9-15, (Claire's ejection) PR ranked tied for #13 of cable shows with not another Lifetime program in sight. The episode we're discussing was #5 of all programs in the 18-49 demo on Thursday and the highest non-sports show in that demo for the night. I have to say that these are very impressive numbers. http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/dvr-ratings/gold-rush-still-striking-it-rich-for-discovery-cable-live-7-ratings-for-oct-9-15/ http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/daily-ratings/thursday-cable-ratings-october-26-2017/
  3. Of course we ALL love to chat, but the fact is that there are far more pages means more chat and the passion that so many have expressed concerning Claire, Michael, Margarita, Brandon, etc. suggests that the audiences have been pulled into this season. People always say they're through with PR, especially if there is an unpopular win, like Gretchen over Mondo. The show is on Season 16 and the landscape of Reality TV is completely different from the early Bravo years. Want to remake those years? Remember Bravo's "The Fashion Show" which even had Fern Malis as a judge. It failed after two seasons. Regardless of what is often said, PR still has an audience that enjoys their product and it's unlikely they're going to listening to constructive criticism from the fans who are still watching.
  4. The ratings are good and this season notched not only pages and pages of discussion but also great passion about character and design. People are always saying how they're finished with PR and yet come back season after season. The "constructive criticism" from the fans means absolutely nothing if they're still watching and reacting to it.
  5. I looked at Meisha Brooks' resume and get this: She's was a mechanical engineering major at Harvard. She says she's a designer so might we see the very first model turned contestant/designer on PR? I agree that she has a chameleon quality that has served the designers well. I somewhat disagree about Liris. She makes the designs about Liris, whereas Meisha shows off the clothes. Perhaps that's the downside of being a plus sized model, but at the same time, that's not her job. If she wants to design, she should pick up a pen and do it herself.
  6. Heidi wore a "winning" design by Shawn at one of the Creative Arts Emmy Awards and was roasted. She really did look like "a walking car wash".
  7. I completely disagree. The argument she was responding to was originally about copying designs not the measuring tape. As such, M&M had no problem talking in Spanish right in front of Claire about the situation, yet not discussing it with her, something Ayana observed made things quite difficult. When people are equating what Claire did to an abuser, you know the show has done its job.
  8. As well she should. She was one of the judges.
  9. Since Yolanda made her name on Reality Shows, she's actually a perfect person to question contestants about their motives.
  10. This thread has five pages of replies after one day. The twins brought the drama and since so many appear pleased at their departure, you can guarantee they're now considered Reality Show Gold. The producers obviously knew what they were doing by casting them. I rewatched the episode and I realized that the preview moment where Tim went off saying "this entire thing disgusts me, it was unseemly, unprofessional, atrocious" was not in. I agree that the tone changed when it was originally Claire ripping off design concepts to having the tape measure. Very, very interesting episode and season. Incidentally, Amy posted an Instagram of Claire's dress alongside one she "designed". Let's not forget the outfit she put a challenge or two after Brandon's win. Same model as well, except Brandon's is way more polished and sophisticated.
  11. Amy has proven the adage "those who can, do, those who can't, teach." Nothing against her personally but she does not have the vision to be a top designer. She might have great technical skills but she never showed herself to have the imagination or creativity. She was never got a lot of critiques but almost always, the best thing said was her clothes were well made. That said, older contestants almost always have a problem on the show. Some, like Laura Bennett, are exceptions but the time restraints and challenges with pressure definitely get to older contestants first.
  12. Michael has now moved on to going after Brandon. Yawn.
  13. I have to say that Claire got me when she told Michael that they should have come to her and discussed it instead of doing it on the runway. It really makes those whisperings in Spanish right in front of her seem even more nasty. And she defended herself to them but it was clear they had no interest.
  14. Okay, did you note how they paired the minority kids with the minority contestants?
  15. I was not expecting that. M&M turned themselves into victims.
  16. The challenge was very poorly executed by the entire production team, but the idea was people on the go take their coffee with them so shouldn't they have a stylish cup to go with their wardrobe, similar to the cellphone challenge a few seasons back. I mean, I get it but as said earlier in one of the early posts, they should have had some fabric covering a cup and the model walking the runway with it. If you see Dixie's overall designs for the to-go cup, they're going for a whimsical look. Even the black and white stripes had the green butterfly "X" insignia on it.
  17. Lifetime didn't kill the show. It's still on, doing well in the ratings and this particular episode has ten pages of comments, while other episodes maxed out at around 7, which shows that amped up drama sells and people want to talk about it. People will always say earlier shows of anything were better. And Wendy Pepper brought the drama because she already understood the game. She even admitted it on the show. It got her a spot in the Final 3 and reality show notoriety. Contestants on any Competitive Reality Show will do it, talent or no.
  18. A new production team could help greatly. However, it is still first and foremost a TV show. Even if the show reverts to the fashion emphasis, they have to find some drama. The first season of PR was when competitive reality TV was in its infancy. It's just a whole new ball game now.
  19. I thought the top was great, even when it was in the workroom. However, if the judges are going to pick at Batani for adding her pattern as an afterthought, what about Amy. Those panels served no purpose whatsoever. The larger question is that if she did not have to use her own graphic, would she have included the pant panels. Margarita was in the bottom for maximum effect but Amy should have been there instead. The getup looked like a waiter.
  20. I would say second to last is Batani and last is Margarita. On her Instagram
  21. That wasn't my point. If people are going to accuse Claire of copying a design, Kenya pretty much did the same thing.
  22. This is the cup on PR in question. Note the butterfly print. This is Kenya.
  23. I completely disagree. This was Claire's print. It's an abstract. I think it would be hard to envision that become the Dixie cup in said episode. Even on her model, she did not use it so the stripes went completely around the leg.
