  1. I absolutely love it when Katie tells people off. Something about her word choice and manner of speaking just really does it for me. So, I've been looking forward to this episode since last week and it did not disappoint. Katie for president. I can't believe she told Stassi to STFU, that everything wasn't about her, and made her cry. DJ Baby Muppet is growing on me too. He obviously knows that Kristin is batshit crazy. I wonder if he's afraid that if he dumps her she'll turn her attention from FI Tom to him. Vail turning everyone down is funny, but I'm over her stupid flirting. She's too old for that shit and it's not a cute look. I think the one in the car is Kristina that's always licking Stassi's ass. She's always hanging out with Stassi and is really the only person that will talk to her anymore, it seems. For some reason I always remember her from going bathing suit shopping with Stassi before Stassi's Mexico birthday party. The other two at Stassi's Ghost BF's apartment were the ones that have a kid that they let Stassi babysit. I think they also made fun of Scheana's wedding invites in the scene where Tom admitted to Katie that he was invited. Apparently I know way too much about the staff of SUR :( BWAH!!!!! That is the best. Seriously. When no one points out to her that her clothes aren't actually cute I start worrying that maybe I'm just old and all the kids are dressing like Stassi and I don't know it. Her clothes are so not cute. Her make-up was looking fug too. The pearly white eyeliner on her inner eye is not a good look for her.
  2. She's my favorite of the girls right now too. For me it isn't just that she's the least despicable, I also crack up at some of the things she says like when she was trying to defend herself against Stassi's "You were being selfish by leaving my birthday dinner" tirade in Mexico. She's not being intentionally funny, I just find her attempts to reason with loonies while drunk hilarious.
  3. The Christmas photo is too cute with Max's hair all poofy like Ken's and Pandy looking like a mini-Lisa. Max's girlfriend is pretty, but that is a big age gap, especially at that age. I'm her age and I know some really hot young men around Max's age. While it's fun to look, I would never even think of dating them. We're at different points in our life and I dated enough boys in their early 20s when I was in high school to know that it's not something I want to deal with now. I'm pretty far along in my career and worried about grey hairs and retirement plans, not about if my electricity is going to get turned off and partying. I still go out and drink and what not, but when I was Max's age I bounced right back, now that I'm his girlfriend's age I get hangovers. Of course, none of the hot boys I know in their early 20s have super rich parents that I could second hand leach off of -- not that I probably would, I've been earning my own money for 20 years and don't need someone else's. The quote is up in my earlier post. As soon as she was brought up as an example parent I remembered she'd said that because I was so WTF blown away back when it happened. Newborns are kind of crying pooping lumps and I'm probably not their biggest fan, but I don't think I would say in an interview in a major publication that I like one child less than the others and use that type of language about her, I'd assume she's eventually learn to read and someday see it.
  4. Are you thinking of GG on Shahs of Sunset? She was always saying shit like that and showing off her knife collection.
  5. I understand that. I just find it hard to believe that someone that overpaid their alimony by $114k in only 4 years time is only paying $1k a month in child support. I assume Brandi is either lying or too stupid to understand what's going on. The only other thing I could think of, is that if the check really was only $1000 and for the whole month, maybe the court ruling on the other matter was to deduct the over-payment from future child support payments since Brandi seemed so aghast at having it paid back via the retirement account settlement. My understanding is that Brandi said she won in court regarding the $114k (but again, lying and dumb, so who knows), but that details have not been released due to a gag order. I seriously cannot stand Brandi, so I didn't take time to actually research what's been released about this though, aside from the easily found stuff that you so nicely summed up (not being snarky, it was a great summary). Except that one time in the Feb 2007 issue of Elle UK when Angelina said Shiloh was a privileged blob that she loved less than the adopted kids.
  6. $1,800 probably isn't too absurd for Alexia's allowance. They are probably assuming she's eating out for all her meals since if she can't do laundry, she probably can't cook either. On the topic of laundry, she probably "has" to pay for fluff and fold since she doesn't know a washer from a dryer. Things are more expensive when others do them for you. Also, if she's eating her meals on campus they are probably expensive. I never had an on campus meal plan, I just had money put in my on campus discretionary spending account and I think I blew through at least $2k a semester for just on campus spending and I didn't eat on campus that often and it was 15-20 years ago. My brothers are in college now and I think they only get $1k a month on top of rent (unless they call for more), but they have jobs and my dad isn't as rich as Mauricio (much to my dismay). I'm not sure about that one $1k figure though, as Brandi has recently pointed out, it isn't even enough for groceries for a week, and I don't care enough to be all up in my dad's finances and know exactly how much is sent to the boys, I just remember my step-mom talking about it in passing. When I was at USC there was a big housing shortage and just like with classes, upper classmen got first dibs. Our shortage was so bad that they were shoving extra kids into the on-campus housing and making them sleep in common areas and the school took over the hotel across the street and had kids living there. I snipped the quote, but everything you wrote was great and added a ton of clarity to this thread about the issue and dispelled many of Brandi's lies. What I find hard to believe, is that someone that overpaid by $114k in just 4 years is only paying $1k per month now. Either they decided to partially cut her payments to account for the over-payment due to her refusing to have it taken out of her Eddie-paid retirement, or the $1000 was for something else, or she was straight up lying about the amount of the check (it's not like we could read it). I'm sure it is a shock to her that her 4 years of alimony ran out and she's only getting child support now, so she's eager to bitch on top of her propensity to lie and create drama while painting herself the victim. I guess it's also likely that she's just too dumb to understand what's going on. I don't know that it is super common for colleges to have dress codes, we didn't when I went. In theory, the people attending are adults. Of course we didn't have to have modesty police at the door to the prom when I was in school either. Crap, I'm old.
  7. I keep forgetting that it was amazing when DJ Baby Muppet started describing various aspects of his relationship with Kristin as crazy. I assume he went on to describe her as crazy, but they cut that out of the clip. I was like "hell yeah the sex is crazy, you know why? Because Kristin is fucking nuts!" ETA: Someone posted a link to a recap and I can't find the post now to like it, but thank you! That was a hilarious recap of the show, it was so great.
  8. The entire quote is "You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means." I was making a joke about your use of penultimate, but only used the second sentence since you only used penultimate once. Swoosh (dat's da sound of da joke going over your head, unless you actually meant it was the next to the last moment of awesomeness this show will give, in which case I'm very sad and will need to find a new Monday night hobby.)
  9. My impression was he was saying that was the sentiment back then and I think he'd be right. This is just my perception of societal views on homosexuality in middle america in the late 90s-early 2000s though and I've never been gay or lived more than an hour from LA. Anyway, it didn't seem to me like he had any problem with people thinking he might be gay or bi in the here and now. It even seemed like he was trying to perpetuate the notion while at the dinner table, probably to be provocative and get more attention from dumbass Vail.
  10. Because the crying drunk apology is totally his combo move. It doesn't matter if the apology is warranted or not. I'm starting to like DJ Baby Muppet too. It might be because I like saying DJ Baby Muppet, or it might be because of the passive aggressive shit he's starting to say to Kristin. I totally didn't get this either and then had to say it out loud a few times after reading your post, and then I totally lost my shit. I think the slow burn might be what makes it so damn funny. DJ Baby Muppet wasn't talking when the longest time without sex conversation was happening at the pool. Jax said he hadn't had sex all weekend and was proud of himself and then said 4-5 days was the longest he'd gone and he's a sex addict. I do not think it means what you think it means. To be fair to Jax (I can't believe I just typed that), when he moved to Miami probably wasn't that long after Matthew Shepard's murder. I don't think homosexuality was as acceptable back then, especially not in the fly-overs. We've come a long way in a short time, but there's still a ways to go as hate crimes are still not unheard of.
  11. So is Kyle's kid going to U of A or ASU? I'm confused because it seems like they are being used interchangeably in this thread (and are often interchangeable in my head). It looked to me like it was U of A, which I think is better academically. I can't remember which is the party school, but I think it is ASU. I would love to see Yo's manual on sending kids off to college. I would like to think that having randos your child doesn't know paint tiles to hang on the wall is number one on her checklist, right above making sure to have proper area rug placement.
  12. FI Tom is the king of the drunk crying apology. for some reason I feel a little let down by this episode. It was pretty great, but I think the promos oversold it.
  13. In my experience it's more normal for the moms to participate in the bridal shower and maybe the bachelorette party if it is something more mellow and not tacky like wine tasting or something, but the tacky pink penis decoration shot drinking tiara wearing shit is usually saved for people in the bride's age group. I don't think I can handle a world where Scheana is considered the alpha female of a group. I'm not saying you're not correct, but it hurts my head.
  14. Not only was her mom there, but someone said the mom was responsible for most of the penis decorations.
  15. This fucking show. I just got done watching this week's episode and I'm already looking forward to the next one. It is like crack. So is the take-away from the bar talk that Jax was telling the truth and both Toms cheated? Stassi who? She should stay off screen with her ghost boyfriend. This show is so much better without her.
  16. That whole shower situation is the worst thing I have ever seen in my life. I am so traumatized. I thought him getting in was bad enough, but then the dancing! OMFG the dancing!
  17. I just watched the first look. I need brain-bleach, eye-bleach, and some anti-nausea drugs. Jax is so gross.
  18. The part that stuck out for me was that Helen didn't want all those stupid kids and now she's saddled with them thanks to Noah. Although, to be fair, she wanted to stop at two and the first two are definitely the shittiest of the lot from what we've seen.
  19. I just saw a special on child stars on E! and Blake, the left gay couch guy (I feel bad describing him that way), was the singing kid that was friends with Michelle on Full House. My mind is blown.
  20. The Padma flirting was totally cheesy, but it made me laugh both times I watched this episode (I couldn't find my remote and I'm lazy and was busy knitting, so it was an all Bravo night last night). I don't know why I found Padma and Gronk so funny, I'm usually put off by Padma's antics like the stupid cart nonsense of last week, but I did. Medium-rare is, in general, considered the best doneness for a steak. Whenever they talk about beef being cooked properly on this show it is medium-rare. I think the one judge was complaining because his portion was closer to medium. A successful sausage is about more than being in casing and loose or patties is a perfectly acceptable preparation for sausage. Grind size, fat ratios, meat mix, spice, blending, and emulsification are all going to be very important for a good sausage. On top of all of that, if you do stuff, you do need to do it right and make sure not to get air pockets like a lot of them were (from going faster than you can handle), and like Doug said, you want a proper snap on the casing too. All that being said, I think Doug's looked better and I think Doug has more experience at sausage making than George. Katsuji looked like a loon with the liquid nitrogen, but that was actually a really good idea and I thought it was very smart of him given the time constraints made freezing out of the question. I dabble in sausage making and it's a lot of work and usually an all day event. I can't imagine making sausage with an hour constraint. I'm pretty good at stuffing, but I'd probably end up going with loose or patties if I had so little time. Of course, my batches are usually bigger because if I'm doing all that work, I'm putting up a ton of sausage.
  21. To me it just sounded like a kid that watches too much Disney channel. The kids on the live action shows are especially sassy and say crap like that all the time and the laugh track tells the kids at home that it is funny, so they end up repeating it. My niece and nephew say one-liners like that all the time and whenever I ask my sister where they get she rattles off some Disney show. I don't think that Bella actually flirted with lesbianism, at least not from what was shown on the show. Yo, ever the supportive mom, just called her a lesbian because she played sports.
  22. I just can't with Brandi's fucked up face and all the low plunge shirts are not her friend. I've never been a fan, but didn't she used to be at least kind of attractive? I'm not saying I don't think Brandi is stupid, because I totally do, but it isn't wise to put a big down payment down on a lease. It isn't like purchasing a car. When purchasing, a large down payment might make sense depending on the interest rate even though a car in general is a depreciating asset. When you lease a big down payment is just throwing your money away (as opponents of leasing will say a lease is in general, but I digress) as the only return you'll see on it are slightly lower lease payments, unless of course you're planning on paying the residual at the end of the lease and buying the car, but most are not. Also, depending on how Brandi worked it, her lease payments might not be that bad. I have a $65k car and my lease payment is ~$450, I worked the system to get a low cap cost, a high residual, and low money factor. I might have put a couple hundred dollars down, but I don't think I did. However, I don't see Brandi doing research on what programs and incentives to use, busting out spreadsheets to run the math on various scenarios, or negotiating well. Maybe her money manager did? Also, unlike Brandi, my finances are in order, I'm a homeowner, and I'm not claiming poverty. I'm also not responsible for children, nor do I have an ex-husband that I'm fighting with over money.
  23. I was put off when I saw this episode was 3 hours long. Then when I realized that over an hour at the end was the rambling after show, I wished for a 3 hour episode. So much rambling. I had planned my knitting around staying up for the 3 hours, so I couldn't just go to bed and save myself, I had rows to complete :). It also seemed like the montages were extra long this episode, maybe to make them more poignant. Boy do I hate a montage. To me, it was satisfying to have things tied up as best they could be. I think Jax was so blatant in the killings so that there would be no question it was all on him, hoping that nothing would blow back on the club, but at the very least, the Irish situation might be trouble. I like Tig, probably mainly due to Kim doing and excellent job, but I'm not sure he's a great choice for VP. He's always been very loyal, but he's caused a lot of problems and hasn't always shown himself to be strategic (to say the least). At first I was really mad about the selfishness of Jax ruining that tomato hauler's life and putting the guilt of killing a person on him, but then I remembered that I'd been in a car accident where the other driver died and I'm not wracked with guilt and think about it so little that it took me a minute to draw the parallel. I was sad and messed up about it for a little while, but the accident was 100% the other driver's fault, so I made myself get over it. When I think about the accident it's in terms of how shitty my injuries are, not how shitty I feel about the other driver being dead. Maybe I'm a self-centered psychopath, or maybe people in general are pretty resilient. It was so obviously not the trucker's fault, he has to know that and will hopefully get over it. It was mentioned a few episodes back that JT committed suicide.
  24. I think he used the thighs in his confit. I assume he broke down the bird because if it is anything like any other forms of poultry that I've worked with, it is exceptionally hard to cook whole due to various portions of the bird having different requirements to be cooked properly. That's why so many people end up with a dry Thanksgiving turkey -- the breast ends up over done in order to get the thighs and legs done. The only reason to cook a turkey whole is so you can have the Norman Rockwell visual.
  25. Mei is a traditional Chinese name and also a popular Japanese name. I don't think she's trying to be a unique flower and spelling her name weird as an affectation.
