The only point to this show seems to be providing a paycheck for the principals. I like SJP, but couldn't HBO find something interesting to fill the time slot?

The People's Court - General Discussion

Those of us commenting on the litigants' fashion sense seem to be missing the point of this show: it's not just an opportunity to settle pending court cases, it's an opportunity to become a STAR! Network execs and casting directors are looking to daytime reality tv for the next Mama June or Real Housewife. Now that I think about it, maybe watching PC is how they came up with the new show about people marrying convicts. Disclaimer: I only know about Mama June from myriad commercials during Law & Order reruns; my remote control skills aren't what they used to be. -

I think MM is terrific; but this insistence of hers that family should come before anything, friendships should last forever, and optional life experiences like proms and sweet 16 parties should be hallowed occasions just irritates the heck out of me. Maybe she always wanted to preside over Family Court, but this is mostly contract stuff and we don't need lectures unless they pertain to the law. -
He did indeed according to this article in The Economist: http://www.economist.com/node/342409

And why should she have to pay rent for February when she was MOVING that month!? Guess it took her the whole month to get her fabulous self moved out, and who does the landlord think he is, asking for rent!? We should all move to her planet and get away with this stuff too. -
Oh, I bet there's a reality tv producer somewhere just dying to put these 2 back on the air; and it wouldn't surprise me if it was for some iteration of PR. Perhaps an "All-Villain" design-off is in the works!

Yes, every single day of her life. She was articulate and funny; if Tim ever leaves the show Amy would make a good replacement.

She should have brought the judge some "chocolate mouse"! -

The last defendant today was a lovely woman, but after the hall interview she turned to leave and it looked like the back of her dress had split open! Did anyone else see this? Maybe it was sewn by that recent prom dress designer. -

Today's first defendant and second plaintiff were such disgusting creatures that I wish I could be there when Karma rains down on them. Who (or what) spawned those things? -

Laws regarding sidewalk maintenance seem to vary from city to city, but usually the sidewalk adjacent to your property is yours, not the city's. Where I live in upstate NY, the city assists homeowners with big repairs like the one in this case. In NYC I think the responsibility is entirely the homeowners and the city accepts no liability. I bet if the defendants had offered the "professional walker" $500 to begin with, he still would've sued. -

Glad I skipped the show today to take my cat for her check-up. I'm sure the horse pictures would have hurt my heart. -

Yes! I skipped this case because seeing JM squee over teen-age "hi-jinks" makes me so disappointed in her. Stupidity isn't cute, ever. -

He's always my favorite part of the X-Men movies, so that's 2 franchises he's part of.

I agree completely! Anyone considering becoming a landlord should be forced to watch the movie "Pacific Heights". That'll cure 'em. -

Since I always wear my big girl pants, I took a look. I question whether anyone would need that thing unless they are making porn films, and I question whether anyone would mention it on national tv unless they are just the teeniest bit of an exhibitionist. Now to go clear my browser history..... -
Kenya seems like a lovely person, but I thought that dress was absolutely hideous. The shoulder petals were some kind of Joan Crawford nightmare, and the waist didn't look well sewn; the only thing I liked was the color. Sexy Ninja Halloween costume!

Except they are not consistent with this. The 1st episode of Season 3 was an unconventional materials challenge; they gave the win to someone who used either a tablecloth or fabric shower curtain (can't remember which) - basically just yardage - when there were many gorgeous looks that actually used unconventional stuff, like Mychael Knight's coffee filter dress. Interestingly, that winner was the guy later thrown out for having pattern books in his room.

He was an obnoxious moron who told the judge he considered her a joke, and he had this weird "shoulder-flicking" thing that must be some kind of in joke that I didn't understand. It reminded me of Howard Stern fans and that word they try to sneak into on-air conversations. Plus, Levin said the guy's fly was open for much of the case. Classy. -
Very sad news; he was so talented and seemed like a sweet guy. I hope the show acknowledges his passing.

I Googled her too and didn't see anything the average person couldn't make after a quick trip to Michael's. But good for her, she got her stuff into Neiman Marcus so who am I to scoff. She (or her husband) must be raking it in to afford to live in Armonk. -
This sounds completely plausible given the past shenanigans of the show runners/writers. There have been way too many contestants obviously lacking in design or even sewing skills, not to mention the painfully "quirky" cast members. Any fashion happening is totally secondary to the reality crap.
