According to a post in the media thread, this season will have Michonne building up to pass the leadership baton to Negan. So that should be great

And they just told us, so they've spoiled their own surprise. And they've told us Michonne is leaving, so they've really let most of the air out of their surprises. They can't even tease correctly.

I know someone who's at Comic Con rt now, and he posted that. All I could think of was paying for a ticket and basically just getting Nelson going HA HA at me.

The first generation to come of age in the ZA were Carl and Enid, so eff this show. I would definitely rather watch Riverdale if I want to watch weird teens in peril.

Over time it became clear to me that they just don't care. The showrunners are fundamentally incurious people, they don't know or care about what makes people tick or telling their stories. They don't CARE how a chunk of the main cast ended up on the pikes. They just bounce around from plot point to nonsensical plot point with the bazillion random characters, and somehow tell LESS of a story than a graphic novel! So much for "long form television." It really was a groundbreaking show, mostly due to the efforts of Darabont, and I loved the first five seasons, but what it's become is incompetent dreck.

Right? So weird that getting rid of the father and son at the heart of the original story affected the show this way.

I think way back when they made a point that Alexandria wasn't THE Alexandria that exists adjacent to DC. It's just some glorified subdivision/planned community with the same name.

I've always said they have Blair Witch geography. I remember during the stupid herd in the quarry story that Morgan got back to Alexandria in about five minutes while Glenn and Michonne couldn't get back all day. And then we had Dumpstergate.

Every. Single. Time. These people cannot write. Time jumps and weeds.

I dunno, but I'm guessing the answer is somewhere in the weeds.

This is outrageous. "How did this major plot twist happen?". Ohhhh... let's not get in the weeds on that. This is the "yada yada yada" of screenwriting.

If they want the kids to kill people they brand, then why don't they just kill them in the first place instead of branding them? Lol. Or is it like a scavenger hunt? Find the X people and kill them. It's not just fuckery, it's dumb fuckery.

So, I've not been watching because I just can't watch Henry play out Carl's storyline. Judith is annoying but I find myself thinking it would be more interesting if Carl had a relationship with her. Killing him off really did ruin the show for me. I skim here, and don't say much since I'm not really watching anymore. But this latest summary just blows my mind. For one thing, if they're going to go this dark and weird, it seems serious enough and character defining enough to not cram it into a single episode flashback. While they waste oceans of time on other crap. Secondly, it's just sick and probably character staining, and I can't imagine putting myself through watching it. To watch this unspoiled will really be upsetting to a lot of people. Life is upsetting enough. I agree they want to keep Daryl clean of this. What a drag for Michonne.

....Seriously? Michonne doesn't know that Negan can hear through windows? This show would be bad even for the Chiller network. No doubt about it.

Maybe the Negan scene is another flashback.
