  1. This is supposed to take place in this current climate isn’t it? The pilot talked about bidding 2020 goodbye with its COVID, etc. I’m taken out of each and every scene that doesn’t feature social distancing or mask wearing.
  2. Did anyone catch Noel’s comment (was it this epi or epi 1?): “Eating’s cheating”. What’s up with that? And then I noticed he never tastes the bakers’ bakes. Does Noel have an eating disorder?
  3. If Tom and Erin only found out yesterday then that s*cks because it appears they had the Tyra announcement all set to go, with an Executive Producer credit to boot. Those negotiations don’t happen in several hours.
  4. TPTB probably took a look at how the KPop stans and Tik Tokkers mobilized to make the Tulsa rally a fiasco and thought Let’s get them mobilized for US!!! Because that’s the only way they’ll bring in a younger audience. This show‘s viewership has always skewed older. Good luck with your “new direction”. Bleh.
  5. I’ve a feeling Tom’s voicing his disgust over the casting of Spicer may have had a little something to do with it. I think Erin is just collateral damage.
  6. I've always liked Stephanie but she's getting the worst edit this year, and seems like she's an afterthought during QF and EC. That's a shame because she's a great cook who's barely being showcased this season. I think she's had two talking heads so far.
  7. He was wearing head to toe Thom Browne. Not sure which collection, might be from the Resort 2018 collection.
  8. The elephant in the room when Mitch and Cam were rattling off all the reasons they assumed the lesbian couple didn't want to use their sperm: is it the red hair, is it the this, is it the that...they really don't want to touch the obvious do they - Cam has the fat gene. Full stop. Coming from a family where the fat gene was prevalent that would definitely be a cause for me to look elsewhere for sperm.
  9. And that in a nutshell is my big problem with this show. With each episode I ask myself if any of the writers in that writer's room are older than 30. I was already a young working adult in 1985 and I knew a lot of men who were stay at home dads and most families, including my own parents, had two working parents. None of this show rings true to the times. I'm really saddened TER didn't fight harder for authenticity being that she's the EP of the show.
  10. Same. I'd be happy with that Final 3. I was thinking that Kate might be oldest Final 3 contestant but she would not be - Jennifer Grey was 50 (and a half) when she won her season (season 11) in 2010 and Kirstie Alley was 60 when she placed 2nd in hers (season 12 in 2011), That gives me hope for Kate going the distance. I loved her and Pasha's costumes.
  11. In my fantasy meta world the whole cast is at Brian and Meghan's house at a barbecue when they start getting texts that they've been picked up for an S2. I really want to see more of these heightened versions of themselves. Oh and that someone is filming the whole thing!
  12. Bless him. He's had that mullet since mullets were a thing and he still had black hair. He's also been wearing that cravat and spray tan for far too long as well. What's wrong with his neck? Does he have a waddle? I kid. I love him but sometimes he does come off a wee bit pretentious.
  13. I'm so very grateful my mother shared her vast knowledge of country music with me. She'd be happy to know I absorbed most of it. I know all these people, I know all these stories. She could give Marty Stuart a run for his money (Marty - the keeper of all country music artifacts and knowledge)! I'm a little disappointed the Carter Family didn't get the same treatment Hank Williams got in Tuesday night's episode. They certainly deserve it. And as my mother would often tell me - Elvis Presley was always sweet on Anita Carter. :-)
  14. Product Placement Alert! That was a 2020 Cadillac XT6. Immediately after that scene a commercial for that very same vehicle came on. What a coincidence. Obvs Caddy is a sponsor of this show.
  15. Jason and Luke were on a panel at a fan convention in 2013 (two parts on YouTube). Jason was extremely catty toward Shannen even after all these years while Luke was extremely kind toward her and being the upstanding gentleman that I’ve always heard him to be. I’ve looked at Jason differently since watching that, however.
  16. I’m enjoying the hell out of this series and so hope they’re greenlighted for a second season with the premise being the continued effort to put an episode together while focusing on all the BTS stuff - which I find far more entertaining. Loved Brian’s dream. And even though I’m not 100% on the Zach storyline I’m happy that it was mostly a Brian-centric episode. I found the Shannen eating very funny; shades of Brad Pitt in Oceans 11 where he was eating in every scene. All the vendetta guessing was really funny but when Ian went in on Cheryl Burke ... yeah that was great. Ian looked great in the scene at the private club. Loved that gray cardi and shirt combo. What did Cheryl say? Full of class that one.
  17. I don't think the mom of Zach is supposed to be another actor from the show - probably a one nighter with a fan. I'm confused about writer lady Anna Blake Moore. For whom is she writing? The characters or the actors? Why is Steve providing hidden camera footage to help her write? How does that play into writing dialog for the Kelly/Donna/Brenda/Gabby/Brandon/Steve/David story? I get that over time show writers will incorporate traits of the actors into the characters but a newbie writer wouldn't be able to do that in 6 or 12 hours, with or without hidden camera footage.
  18. Kudos to the set designer - I don’t know why they were supposed to be at The Georgian Hotel in Santa Monica to work on the script after the table read (other than Jason saying it was his “club” - a la Soho House?) but good job recreating the interior. Brian and Ian continue to entertain me the most. I was never a Shannen/Brenda fan in the original recipe so her limited screentime is fine with me. Although I read an interview that she wasn’t really interested in doing this but then Luke died and her feelings toward this reboot changed.
  19. Christine Elise's interview in The Advocate. Great interview. Big, huge spoiler!!
  20. How would they have broached that subject had Luke Perry not died? He had no plans to participate in this re-envisioning because he was too busy with Riverdale, that was made clear way back in February when this was first announced.
  21. Agree! They've given him the best side comments and reaction shots. I'm waiting for someone to gif his kiss on IZ's neck and arms around his chest. Swoony.
  22. That's exactly who they'll waste her on. If Tony Dovolani was still around she'd go to him. Good luck Gayle Gergich.
  23. Not that I've ever read, but don't forget this isn't an exact reenactment of their lives, just a heightened version of themselves and their situations. Could have been a kernel of "BAG has a grown son in real life - how can we work that in a storyline? "
  24. If you've seen any of the previews then you know
  25. AV Club got it wrong. Evidence: IMDB; Karis Cameron's Insta.
