  1. I'm a little irritated by how many times they've changed the format. First teams of 2 with both being eliminated, then super teams with an individual being eliminated, now competing individually. I really would have liked to see them stick with teams of 2 to the very end. I would have been happy with either Emily/Tyler or George/Cig winning as a team. (Or at the very least, they should have stuck with the super teams until it was down to a team of 2 and a team of 1. And then go into individual competition for the finale.) So I say scrap the car prize, have them split the cash, and send them both on the trip.
  2. Thank you for mentioning this! I will definitely be looking it up.
  3. Yep. I don't know what all the fuss is about.
  4. I was torn between "Wrong!" and "You're fired".
  5. I was surprised/annoyed that the editors showed two different people saying how tough this challenge was since they had to do two make-ups. In the non-team, non-all stars seasons in which they've all competed, it's normal for one person to do one make-up in that amount of time. So I don't see why two people working on two, one of which is less involved by the nature of the challenge, is a big deal.
  6. If it were just Captain Jack as he appears on Doctor Who, I could get behind that. But he loses something in Torchwood, for me.
  7. I was also shocked that they weren't in the bottom. It was a beauty challenge and they gave her a freakin' beard.
  8. Glad to see someone submit a Scrubs episode for the cannon, event though it didn't get in. The Brendan Fraiser one is fantastic. Another top contender for me is "My Lunch", the one where 3 patients die because the organ donor had rabies. For a gimmicky/fantasy one, I'd go with "My Musical", if for no other reason than the masterpiece that is "Guy Love".
  9. I never would have thought of him for this, but Abed is a great choice.
  10. Leah was a good guest. I hope she returns. For the "Midwest" clue in Game Time, I thought of Roseanne, which then came up later.
  11. Yep. He's fantastic, but not for this show. Books was a truly bad answer. Educated or not, why would anyone take books to the *theater*? For the milk & cookies one, I also said "get wet". I couldn't think of anything else.
  12. I don't think tofu is dated at all. I'm 29 and have been a vegetarian for about 8 years. I've lived in small towns and big cities on both sides of the country. I have lots of friends who are also vegetarians in their late 20s/early 30s. We eat tofu all the time. Tofu is an option in the entrees at most Thai and Chinese restaurants, and I often cook with tofu. And tofu is not a brand name. Some veggie burgers (and a lot of other fake meat products) are made from soy, but not specifically tofu. Others burgers are often made from black beans or other bean/nut combos.
  13. I agree with pretty much everything Sarah and Dave said about Sherlock. Such a let down after those first two seasons. Tara, thank you for not shying away from politics on the podcast. There are other crazy socialists among the listeners. :) I, too, am extremely frustrated at not being able to see any episodes of Atlanta beyond the pilot. Not cool. Regarding Seeso, Take My Wife is worth checking out, and it's only 6 episodes.
  14. And Nick and Winston, for that matter. They're all very good looking men.
  15. The Peanuts kids dancing is so perfect! Great answer, Jeff!
  16. I like the character of Robby a lot, but I agree that he doesn't have any chemistry with Jess. I wish they could keep him around for another reason. I also have lost my love for Jess. She's a shell of who she used to be, and her story lines are the least interesting parts of the episodes now.
  17. Jess from New Girl (yes, I'm one of those) or the cast of The Bletchley Circle (thanks to Sarah's wonderful recaps).
  18. I never cared much for Mary, so this didn't have the emotional impact for me that it seems like it did for a lot of others. Also, I know some people are confused that it seems like Mary liked Sherlock but then she told him to "go to hell" at the end. But I think that she was saying he'll have to go a metaphorical hell to save John. But no idea where/what that is or what John will need saving from.
  19. I'm in the US and I just finished it. It was already available for me to watch online via Xfinity (My parents have cable and I use their login).
  20. When Robbie was wrapping gifts, he would have noticed that there were 2 for Winston and none for Jess. Are we supposed to think that this was all on purpose so that she could be surprised at the end?
  21. I totally agree that the finale belongs in the Nonac, but I think the whole last season could go in there. My partner was about 1.5 seasons behind on the show, and after I saw the finale, I told him to stop at the end of season 8. While there are a few good episodes here and there, I don't think the 9th season is worth the time/frustration/heartache. I'll also add that not only is this a good pick for the Nonac, but the submission itself was fantastic. Probably one of the top 2-3 listener Canon/Nonac submissions ever.
  22. Thanks for mentioning The Shift. I hadn't heard of it before, but definitely want to check it out as I used to live in Indianapolis. Totally agree about La Croix. My coworkers at my last job were obsessed with it, and I cannot figure out why. Also, they always called it "fizzy water". Ugh...
  23. Did they indicate they were at her mom's house? I thought her mom was at her house. I thought the mom said something to the effect of "I found this phone in the cushions of my daughter's couch." And since Connor has been staying with her, it makes sense that his phone might have fallen into Michaela's couch.
  24. Was one of them something to do with a timeshare?
