  1. Tiny Heather seems to have been glammed up to a point where she looks like she belongs. Yay! I so wanted to like her but her look earlier in the summer held me back.
  2. Whoa whoa whoa whoa! That's so complicated. I need you to explain it to me... eleven times.
  3. The "marking" conversation bothered me and here's why: A lot of times when Judy calls someone out on a specific correction, they'll just give a vague motion to make sure they're on the same page as her with the correction. In this case, Judy said something like "right there, from the push-push into the...", and so Kelsey just sort of marked it because she thought she was receiving a correction rather than being asked to perform it. So of course Judy got all huffy and told her she looks like she's marking it, so she was honest about it. And then she graciously apologized in the office and was shut down with "words are words" without the opportunity to clear the air. The way she reacted speaks to her character and mental strength, though, because I probably would have either yelled something mean or started crying. So, basically, CMT's edit on Kelsey isn't bad at all, just that nothing she does pleases K&J for some irrational reason.
  4. As much as I like Madeline, I have to imagine that book learnin' has never been too much of a priority for her. She definitely comes across as someone who is focused on dance-church-dance-church-dance and the rest is just fluff.
  5. I know! As nice as it is to know that someone on a dance team/tv show/etc. is a nice person with a squeaky clean life, most facets of the entertainment and sports industry do not care what you get into as long as you're good at performing when you have to. Tasha is pretty and she can dance. That's really all that's required of a professional entertainer, and the rest of the "high standards" that everyone talks about are really just Kelli's preferences. So many other teams have gorgeous, fairly talented cheerleaders who probably would never go near an organization like DCC because they simply don't and never will have the squeaky clean Texan image.
  6. I can't find the new bios anywhere. Can someone link me?
  7. The Atlas is the first vertebra in your neck. I've heard of all sorts of things it can press on if it's not in line. I'm hoping to get an adjustment on mine soon because I'm having some pretty bad nerve issues stemming from the neck. You might mention it to your chiro that you heard about a connection between the Atlas and migraines. [Disclaimer: I've never been to a chiropractor, but I don't think they're the debbil like a lot of people do. Plenty of people get actual help from them.]
  8. I've been telling my mom (the only person who will ever half watch with me) pretty much the exact same thing for a few years now. These girls are so talented beyond awkward boot tapping and the lumbar dislocation looking move. The ones who can do tricks should be called upon to do them. It'd be a breath of fresh air to see more of the non-unison routines like the show group one we saw from Denise from LSU.
  9. I've said it before, but the jump splits are simply not for everyone's hips/knees. Most of those career ending knee injuries probably wouldn't happen if they weren't required.
  10. This episode had so much dancing! I loved loved loved it! So much to say... Whitney and Lindsey had great personalities and are both beautifully statuesque, but I do see why there likely be will be an issue with both of them. Madeline was so much more poised than last year. Kelli seemed so much more human this time around. I lost it at her her "HELL YES" on Kelli Q. That was amazing. Shelly's dress at the first meeting was gorgeous and I'd totally wear it. Yuko is adorable. So are the Heathers and Maggie. Kelsey seems to be doing a lot better dance-wise, based on the feedback she's getting, than the edit the show is attempting to portray. I may be wrong on this but it seems she's being showcased as a straggler but really isn't. I don't dislike anyone so far. Brennan looks crosseyed in most of the scenes and Celinda looks like she's holding her mouth weird. Will this be brought up? Finally figured out that Milan reminds me of Alyssa Torres. Also, the show looks so different this season that I wonder if they're using new, more high definition cameras.
  11. Do you have a link? I'd love to see it if it's as much of a trainwreck as it sounds.
  12. In the original special, Shanell took Shirley to look at a house but she was definitely not ready to leave at that point. She kept talking about wanting vaulted ceilings, which was obviously just an excuse to not act at the time. I remember this because I was so frustrated with her. After the episode where she was kicked out of her Kingston hovel, I have a better understanding of how warped, under-educated, and traumatized she is as a person.
  13. Sorry about the wrist thing. I didn't mean it in a bad way at all, just that Yuko has a very slight ("bird person" as my grandma says) bone structure. I'm over here with 7" wrists feeling like a neanderthal.
  14. I just think it was in poor taste to switch so abruptly from a subject like skin cancer (which Marcia obviously thought the interview would be about) to random tidbits about DH.
  15. I noticed how absolutely small Yuko is in some of the audition photos. Her wrist looks like it's probably no bigger than 4" around and she seems really short (but well proportioned) Is she on the end of the kick line?
  16. So it sounds less like a single hangry moment and more of a meltdown taken out on someone else. Jeez. I personally am guilty of going nuts sometimes, but if I were working my ass off and made it on to one of the most well known dance teams in the world I'd do everything to keep any hints of attitude in check.
  17. Since there were only 200 some who went, there may not have been very many objectively awful candidates who showed up. Headband girl was in a quick shot and there were some low energy looking girls, but I'd imagine the show results in fewer people willing to take the chance.
  18. I wish I could give you a thousand likes for this post. I usually understand where they're coming from with a weight criticism, but the Megan and Courtney situation is one time I was really rubbed the wrong way. They both looked awesome to me and it made it seem like they weren't good enough (was it because they both came from the Buccs?) even though they looked like everyone else for the most part. The other times I've been truly disturbed by body comments have been few and far between, but I remember thinking Grace Sells and Amy Andrus were being singled out as well.
  19. I know! Her look is so different from anyone they've had before. Maggie has been a favorite of mine since they posted the fan vote videos, so much so that I went and watched videos of her when she cheered at U of Oregon and I was thoroughly impressed. Hopefully she'll stay for a few years at least.
  20. If I'm remembering correctly, a few weeks ago some people said some not-so-nice things specifically about Shelly during her 1996 auditions in the media thread. I'd imagine that feels insulting and draws someone to the board. Surely, the comments were made in jest without consideration that she'd ever see them, but they probably sting for someone who tries to stay behind the scenes.
  21. She was the one who sat in the office and said "you know how I'm taking Anatomy this summer?" And the whole conversation was super awkward.
  22. I love this show and I tell people about it all the time. This board isn't very active, but did anyone else see the episode from yesterday with the FLDS woman Lizzy? She was brainwashed for sure, but she seemed to know it wasn't right to never be allowed to see her daughter. I couldn't tell if she actually bought into the rhetoric about reading and music being unwholesome. She seemed to think that's what she "needed to repent about", but I can't tell if she knows that they aren't actually wrong.
  23. I always assumed that she did want to be a DCC because she's always been in close proximity to the organization and she's left a lot of comments on her buddies' pages about "when we're on the team together" and "can't wait to share the field with you". She'll probably wait until after college, yeah, but something tells me she'll definitely do at least a year after college just to say she did and get that sweet legacy treatment.
  24. I thought she was gorgeous and had a great figure, but it seemed like they were being really hard on her and a few of the others re: weight and style. I'd imagine they gave her the "don't come back" talk that we hear some people get at the end of the first year.
