  1. I'm pretty sure he'll be returning in Spring, because my personal feeling is that Amy will write and direct the premiere and finale and Dan will do the middle two episodes. Some new set pictures of Lorelai's house interior: Are they shooting out of order because it does not look like Winter there. Where's the two sinks?! This feels like an oversight. Luke/Lor bedroom Rory bedroom Kitchen was re-done and it looks GREAT! Finally some changes. So much more realistic.
  2. Agreed. SO happy it's ending before it got even worse. The promo is available here to watch. They're promising one last big surprise. Wonder what that could be... The writers also tweeted that the series finale is called "End".
  3. It's official. There's a press release out too...
  4. Bishop noted that the first of the four 90-minute episodes, titled “Winter,” suggests that “four months” have passed since Richard’s death, adding, “So by the time you get to [Episode 4 aka ‘Fall’] a whole year will have passed. And I know from my experience, that the first year [after losing a loved one] is awful. But when you hit that first year you start to emerge from it.” In other words, if a new gentleman were to enter Emily’s orbit, it would likely be in “Fall” — which, as bad luck would have it, happens to be the one script Bishop hadn’t gotten around to reading (yet). --Ask Ausiello
  5. It will be odd to me if he's not in it though, because he was so enthusiastic at the panel and in the interview that went up the day before. He really seems to genuinely love the show, Amy/Dan, and the rest of the cast so I could picture him doing it for a very small amount of money if asked. So unless The CW isn't willing to let him have some time off from Supernatural (even though it's the same studio), my intuition says Jared will be back. I need that Milo confirmation ASAP, though.
  6. Updated list... Confirmed: Lorelai, Luke, Rory, Emily, Paris, Lane, Michel, Gypsy, Miss Patty, Kirk, Christopher, Finn, Logan Most Likely Out: Sookie, Liz No Confirmation/News/Unknown: Jess, Doyle, Dean, April, Anna, Gigi, TJ, Colin, Babette, Taylor, Jackson, Andrew, Troubadour [basically everyone else] I'm happy to hear Logan will be back. I hope Dean is the boyfriend that doesn't return (if there is one). If they do Richard's funeral, they should bring back Marion Ross as Marilyn! Loved her. Also I'd like to see Alex Borstein back, she doesn't have to play Drella or Miss Celine, maybe a new character again.
  7. I really don't think he'll be a major character. He'll probably only appear in one episode.
  8. Then it's a very realistic possibility because the show loves to repeat storylines.
  9. Gosh. Is this series going to end with an Alicia sex scandal (with photos of her and Jason leaking) and her marriage being exposed as an act? It definitely brings it all full circle. Or maybe Jason is working for Morrison's character, and will expose their affair, publicly humiliating her in the process. Has their entire relationship been a way for him to get dirt on her to ruin the Florricks' reputations? I just think there has to be more to this Jason has a file on Alicia/Matthew Morrison storyline that will effect Alicia and Peter personally. If something like that does happen, the interesting part would be to see if Peter stands by her side the way she did for him in the pilot. If it's bad for his (already sinking) career, he may not. I still think the series finale should include a 'signing divorce papers' scene between them.
  10. The two-year deal they asked for wasn't really out of bounds/bratty behaviour on their part by any means. They had being doing the show for six seasons and were still on year-to-year deals which they re-signed every summer. Imagine not knowing if you'll be employed in 9 months. I don't blame them for wanting some job security, especially when they were working on one of the network's signature shows at that point and one of the only shows that would be going on to a brand new network. The contract situation is only half of why they left though. The network really took advantage of the fact that Amy and Dan worked as hard as they did. I don't know any other show where the creators have as many writing/directing credits. They were working day in and day out and lacked the most basic things every other show has - like a properly sized writing staff and an on-call director. And, like has been previously stated, the saddest part is the network ended up getting both of those things in season 7 after Amy and Dan left.
  11. Those rumors were crazy but they ended up having some kind of merit apparently, since she became a producer in season 7 and they barely shared any screentime together until the end of the season. Clearly she had a chat with David Rosenthal and made things go in that direction. And then she made those comments about how she liked the chemistry between her and David Sutcliffe more because they had "gone out together" in real life. Sheesh. Talk about awkward. She thinks it's brilliant and free of flaws, like everything else she's done. Amy doesn't admit to making mistakes.
  12. Yep. It's kind of sad to see honestly. First Melissa apparently wasn't invited to the ATX panel, and (even more strangely) they didn't mention her even once. And now this. To me, as an outsider, it looks like a "she's too busy for us now, so why should we even bother reaching out?" kind of situation, but I don't get that vibe from Melissa at all. I feel like maybe Amy & co are jumping to conclusions about Melissa and how unwilling she may be to do this, when that isn't the case at all.
  13. MM seemed to get along great with everyone actually. If you watch the DVD's, there's a feature where she went around talking to everyone for the 100th episode and they all seemed to be on really good terms, especially her and Lauren. I think things have just gotten a bit muddled over the years and it has more to do with Amy/the business side of things rather than Melissa's interactions with the cast.
  14. Yeah, Amy has no drive when it comes to getting these things done and she has special snowflake syndrome. We've seen that over the years. It's bugged me throughout the years and at ATX, she's always made comments like "if Warner Bros wants to do it" and "if they approach me about it". And now "but if her people called me up". No one is going to approach you about anything unless you go out of your way and keep trying. Rob Thomas and Kristen Bell wanted a VM movie, so they made it happen themselves. And if she had the same level of commitment we would've gotten a continuation years ago. Does she really expect Melissa's agents to ring her up one day on their own volition and say "she's available on this day"? That's the most unrealistic thing I've ever heard.
  15. No. Sookie's mother was dead in the series, they mention that in 104 I think.
  16. My Predictions/Wishlist (sorry about how long this is): -I think Rory will end up with Jess, but we will see them reconnect and fall in love all over again as adults, and it'll have little to do with their teenage relationship. I think Jess will make an appearance based on Luke/Liz originally though (i.e. it wont be Rory running into him randomly or reaching out to him). Truncheon Books would be highly successful by now. -I don't think they'll work in Alexis's pregnancy -I don't know what exactly they'll do about Luke and Lorelai, but I personally hope they're married with a child. It's unrealistic for them to not have gotten married in the last 8 years. And Lorelai would be almost 50 at this point, so they can't really do a pregnancy storyline now. I also want a scene of Lorelai looking at a (photoshopped) picture of Richard walking her down the aisle at her wedding (if the wedding happened in the 2007-2016 interim) -I think Rory's career will be somewhat of a focus in the revival. I don't think she'll be in a good place career-wise when she starts out. Maybe stuck in a dead-end newspaper job, in a bit of a rut, and not really getting anywhere with her career. But by the fourth episode, she'll find an amazing opportunity with room for growth. -I don't think they'll focus on Lorelai's career outside of owning that same Dragonfly Inn but I hope I'm wrong. I liked where they were going at the end of season 5 with the Durham Group storyline/her possibly becoming a more successful businesswoman. -My guess is the revival will open with Rory coming home after Richard passes away. We won't see the actual funeral but we'll see everything directly after it. I think Richard's passing will cause friction between Lorelai and Emily and that'll carry out in a huge way through all four episodes. One of the first scenes may be Lorelai picking Rory up at the airport. She'll return at the end of episode 1 and we'll maybe see her at work in episode 2? -Christopher will return after Richard dies but his stay will solely be a catch-up with Lorelai, and hopefully father/daughter stuff with Rory leading to some kind of resolution between them. I don't think Amy is going to be pulling any funny business with Lor/Chris this time around. He may be happily married to someone new, and Gigi will get a mention but won't make an appearance and will probably be living in Paris with Sherry. -Rory will run into Finn who will update on her on what Logan is up to. She'll run into Dean, same thing. -I hope they fix the short end of the stick Lane got in season 7 and make her a kickass mom with a successful career in something music-related (even if it's not Hep Alien). -Paris and Doyle will be hugely successful. She'll probably be a doctor and he's probably a big-shot newspaper man, or maybe a stay at home dad to their kids. -Sookie will be away doing a cooking show for the Food Network. If Melissa returns (which looks really unlikely), they'd film a segment of her "show" to put on a tv screen during one of the living room scenes. Jackson will be back and will complain about how hard it is taking care of the three kids without Sookie in his wacky fashion, however. -I don't know if Vanessa Marano will return but my hope is that she does. Maybe a college graduation party (she'd be around 22ish right?) for his cousin is what brings Jess back to town? -I hope that there's at least some changes in the story. Stuff seems really stagnant so far. The Dragonfly, Luke's, Lorelai's house, the Jeep, etc all being there and looking exactly the same after almost 10 years feels a bit odd and creepy to me. I hope Lorelai and Luke leave the Crap Shack at some point in the season. That would be a heartbreaking scene, but it doesn't seem real to me that they'd remain there for so long especially if they have a kid. This sounds strange but it's kind of depressing to imagine these characters' lives having gone no where/not having progressed in the last decade. That's why I really want Lor/Luke to be married with a child already. -My last (unrealistic) prediction for the ending is almost like fanfiction-stuff so it will never happen. But I have this weird vision of the series coming full circle to the early seasons when Rory and Lorelai lived together in SH, but this time with Emily and Lorelai. What if, after all of the emotional aftermath of Richard's death and the (inevitable) Lorelai/Emily drama that follows, they finally come to some kind of understanding with each other? That's kind of where I think the old folks home spoiler fits in. Perhaps Emily is considering going to an old folks home after Richard dies, but Lorelai feels bad after seeing the place, and insists on moving her in with her and Luke instead? Of course things between them would get worse before they get better. It would just show so much growth for the Lorelai character and it would create a new dynamic between them. Picture Emily and Lorelai having breakfast at Luke's. Or Emily watching her grandchild while Lorelai and Luke go out for a date night. It's farfetched and sappy, yes, but it seems like a happy ending. There would always be bickering and the occasional fight, but overall I think the series needs to come to a resolution to their dynamic more than any other. Lorelai/Luke and Lorelai/Rory will be fine, of course, but Lorelai/Emily is the most layered and interesting relationship, and will and should be given a huge focus in this revival I think.
  17. At this point, I'm down for anything that shows that there's been some kind of coherent through line throughout this season.
  18. Not as unlikely as you may think, honestly. Melissa is really busy and I don't think they'd even be willing to humor negotiations for a Netflix cameo [for a supporting character, nonetheless] when their client is making millions in leading roles in some of the biggest box office comedies. Sure, but Matt is contracted with CBS through til 2017, so they would still have to go through them to get him to appear. Plus even though the Gilmore shoot ends in June, Matt will be busy at the Good Wife until April/May.
  19. This happens often, I feel like. I'm sure Amy went through Melissa's people to invite her, but an agent or manager most likely handled these decisions internally without even talking to Melissa about it. Hence Melissa thinks she hasn't been invited at all. This is turning messier the closer we get, though. No Sookie and no Logan. I wonder if there'll be others missing/dropping out last minute. I really just wanted everyone back :(
  20. I take Amy's comments as an almost-confirmation that Logan won't be back. Maybe CBS just wasn't willing to give up Matt without a pretty penny... Finn was probably the storyline tweak she's talking about. I imagine it'll be Finn updating Rory on where Logan is now, instead of Logan doing it himself.
