Recent history says no. Because of the close production schedules of both shows, the runner up is essentially out of the running to be Bachelorette. The last runner up to be Bachelorette was Deanna Pappas, who was one of the final two (both rejected) from Brad's first season. Back then (2007/2008), the shows were filmed further apart. Since Deanna Pappas, with the exception of Emily Maynard, no Bachelorette has ever finished higher than 3rd on her season of The Bachelor. Emily of course won Brad's second season in 2011, and conveniently broke up with him just in time to appear as The Bachelorette in the 2012 season. Kaitlyn will probably be The Bachelorette. Jade has the Playboy past. Carly is deemed (quite wrongly I think) to not be attractive enough. And Britt of course has the hit and miss hygiene. That pretty much leaves Kaitlyn.

Just because she is incredibly well paid does not mean she can't be supportive of the rights of others to earn a decent wage. And I don't know if she makes sure everyone on the set is equally paid for equal work or not, though I suspect she doesn't have that kind of pull. Not with agents for the talent and not with unions for the crew. In any case, aren't we trying to bridge the divide between the classes? If Meryl Streep is legitimately concerned about the issue that puts her ahead of a lot of her fellow 1%. And that's a good thing. As for Doogie's trick, it was just a bit of sleight of hand. I don't know exactly how, but I don't doubt it is a standard trick. Something along the lines of "nothing up my sleeve" type misdirection. Though ultimately, it really was not worth adding to an already grossly enlarged run time.

A quick check of both's IMDB pages shows far more TV credits than film. Ann B. Davis' biggest film credits are Lover Come Back, and appearances in The Brady Bunch movies and the Naked Gun movies. And of course her fame pretty much completely revolves around her Brady Bunch role. So her omission makes some sense. Despite the larger number of TV credits, Elaine Stritch would seem to be a more notable oversight. Hell, I would have included her for her appearance in Cadillac Man alone.

J-Lo should really not wear a dress that is the same color as she is. Especially when that color is not found in nature. But it is a moot point. Naomi Watts has arrived. The rest of the ladies can switch out of their expensive dresses and into sweats. They've all been beat. Don Johnson was, and still is, a good looking man. But unless Dakota Johnson transforms into a man in her mid to late 30's (her father's Miami Vice prime), those good looks simply do not translate well to the flavor of the month starlet.

Rosamund Pike taking the honors on the red carpet. So far. I get that it is her moment right now, but watching Dakota Johnson on the red carpet really makes me wonder what the fuss is about. And to be mean for second, I find it incredible how mousy looking she is. Especially when you consider her mother is Melanie Griffith and her grandmother is Tippi Hedren. Dakota must take after her dad's side of the family.

Two And A Half Men - General Discussion
reggiejax replied to Meredith Quill's topic in Two And A Half Men
I look at it as Angus Jones being young, and like a lot of young people he says and does things in fits of youthful passion that he will look back on in amazement, and perhaps embarrassment. Granted, it has only been a couple of years, and he may still be as passionate about his beliefs regarding the show. Personally, I think he just wanted one more time with people he spent many years with, and who he likely still cares about. As for the finale itself, I haven't laughed that much at an episode of Two and a Half Men in ages. I like that they basically said "screw it" and went all out with the ridiculousness for the finale. It might have been nice to have Sheen actually appear, but the character of Charlie was definitely present in spirit throughout the episode, and I think that more than sufficed. For a second there, I thought Berta was going to get stiffed by Charlie, but I should have known he'd save the best for last. Well, it's has definitely been 12 years..,.....yeah, I got nothing more to add. -
They really needed to cast someone who has more than one expression (bugging out his eyes) and who does not speak in the same stilted manner no matter whether he is telling someone the time or describing what he feels when he rips someones throat out. I know bad acting seems to be the overall mode for Scandal, but Guillermo Diaz makes Kerry Washington look like Viola Davis in comparison. And just to be sure, I consider Kerry Washington to be the second worst actor on TV, after Diaz. Kerry gets the second worst tag because she has two expressions (sneering and sniveling) to Diaz's one.

I still don't get why we're supposed to accept it as a matter of fact that the Presidency is within Mellie's grasp. Being the First Lady to a philanderer does not automatically turn Mellie into Hillary Clinton, who by the way, hasn't become President. Yet. And to be sure, the incredibly overrated Mellie is no Hillary Clinton. Far as I can tell, the only area she beats the former Secretary of State is in bad hairdos.

Despite the bid, I don't think the Russians handed over so much as a penny for Liv. It was a ruse, not unlike Huck, Quinn and Jake were attempting.

Not at all. I wanted the asset neutralized with extreme prejudice. And again, I know this is Scandal, and realism was not a priority even before this show went off the rails, but I also couldn't have been the only one wondering why the CIA wasn't asking the obvious question during that initial briefing. The question being why does the campaign manager have access to so much classified information? I mean, that is what she does officially for President Fitzgerald Grant, isn't it? She ran his campaigns. I don't believe she ever had an official role in the administration, and even if she did, that would hardly mean she would have so much access. There is no reason for her to be considered an "asset". The only reason is to pump up her special little snowflake status. Good to see Henry Ian Cusick again, though I guess it was too much to hope he would be back for good.

I especially loved the attack ad against Jimmy Jr. "Does he have to go to the bathroom? Why doesn't he just stop dancing and go?" There was just something brilliant about the tone of the voice Gene used in these ads. And who knew Regular Sized Rudy was the taste maker when it came to Wagstaff political races? His opinions set the trends in the race for President. Good for Rudy.

Thanks for the info. And I must say, from that information, the fact that David Sirota was the class clown of Adam Goldberg's class explains why I only find this show moderately humorous. But to be fair, moderately humorous puts the show in the upper percentiles these days.
-
Well that makes sense. I imagine Oswalt has no use for comedy that actually made people laugh. On that note, I find it hard to believe Adam was a fan of the Dice Man, let alone Dice being his favorite. Maybe there is hope for the little dork yet. Though considering he grows up to be to be voiced by Patton Oswalt, probably not. And I just have to ask, who the hell is David Sirota?

To each his own. Indeed, were I the Bachelor, strictly on looks alone, only one of Chris's remaining three would have made my final 3. My personal favorite, Carly, would have probably finished a little lower than she did. Again, purely on looks alone. That said, Chris should be relieved to be rid of Britt. Britt would, in general, not only be considered the most beautiful of this batch of women, but instantly on the short list of most beautiful to ever appear on the show. But she is a piece of work, and a tiresome one at that. And I think Chris only saw the tip of the Britt iceberg. I imagine even if he had picked her, only to have their relationship last the contractually obligated 6 weeks, it would be six of the most hellish weeks of Chris's life. I know I for one would rather listen to Whitney on helium, in perpetuity, than have anything more than a one night stand with Britt. And I for one now believe Chris and Britt's "nap time" fulfilled that requirement, so he had no problem letting her go, having gotten what he really wanted.

As much as I would love to see Carly as Bachelorette, I have to say Bachelor in Paradise is more likely her fate. She may have been too funny for her own good. But at least she was actually funny, unlike other bitchy contestants from the past who tried to pass it off as humor. Tip for all future would be Michelle Money's and Courtney Robertson's, Carly is the best example of making bitchy comments funny. The secret ingredient is humor.

S19.E07: Chris Tells All / S19.E08 Week 8, Part 1
reggiejax replied to Tara Ariano's topic in The Bachelor
And the fourth was easy to guess based on the three shown in the previews. So despite the efforts at suspense by doing a cliffhanger, it was all given away in the previews. I get that this year is all about "no rules", but it is really making for kind of a slipshod season. On the plus side, it was good he got rid of the drunks early. They would have been having a tough time in these later weeks, what with all the canceled cocktail parties. I beg to differ. I think Carly is very attractive. But even setting aside my own personal opinion of Carly, if a hatchet face like Andi can be The Bachelorette, and even inspire rumors of a do over, then a cutie patootie like Carly is plenty hot enough to be the Bachelorette. And perhaps Carly is lying about being 29 (and let's be honest, that age always sounds like a lie, even if it is true), there is no way in hell she is in her 40's, as has been suggested in a previous comment. -

I love Carly, and I so want her to be the Bachelorette, but there is no denying that she can talk trash with the best of them. And nothing can ameliorate the ineptitude of Kelsey's attempts to rehabilitate her image. -
I admit I can't stand Mellie, so I am not really objective when it comes to her, but for the life of me I cannot think of anything she has gotten done. Certainly nothing that would merit Presidential consideration. At best I see her as the dutiful, and long suffering, political wife. I can't even even think of what her personal project, the one every First Lady has, is. Can some Smelly Mellie supporters (Smellies?) enlighten me?
