  1. Standby for so much speculation! And so many "If"s! Then feel free to prove me wrong as I'm sure I am. What IF Mr. Torres (Oscar's dad] killed Tim. Just hear me out. Oscar's first story about why he was going up the stairs, to see Mabel, was a lie. What IF his story to beat up Tim. was also a lie? If he wanted to beat up Tim it didn't have to be right then and there and with the fire alarm going off he could have just left and surprised Tim later. So what IF he was racing up the stairs to warn Tim? Perhaps Oscar told his dad something that made him so enraged he wanted to kill Tim? I don't think it would have anything to do with Zoe's murder. There has been some speculation that the "cheating" Zoe was talking about on the roof was between Tim and Oscar. So what IF while Oscar was in prison he and Tim talked and solidified their relationship. Possibly the reason that getting the engagement ring that night was important (same day of Oscar's release]. So what IF Oscar came out to his dad and his dad was furious and rushed out of the apartment to Tim's place. Oscar follows and is unable to catch the elevator so he takes the stairs to Tim's pulling the fire alarm on the way hoping Tim will leave the building. He continues to Tim's apartment and hears the gun and runs away knowing his dad shot Tim (why he chooses to go up, I don't know]. I know a lot of IFs. This would also sort of explain why Oscar is being sneaky and wearing the same hoodie (not that I'm not guilty of wearing the same hoodie constantly]. He's hiding from his father. While Torres's "Oscar's not here," could have been a lie, it could also be that Oscar hasn't returned to the building -- not that his father would hurt him, but hey, if your father killed your boyfriend you'd be pissed too. Or maybe you wouldn't. I don't know you. I don't believe that Torres killed Zoe. And if this theory about Tim's murder is true than I don't think the murders were related. Of course that means the black market jewelry is also a red herring, at least for Tim's murder. I know this is far fetched and I do believe Theo Dimas is shady as heck and somehow involved I thought I'd mix it up with a new theory.
  2. You're right. I just meant the throwing the omelet away part as he had no intention of eating it. Not why he was making it in the first place.
  3. Ten episodes. Finale is October 19. The black market jewelry thing is weird, but I imagine is run like any other type of black market -- so either stolen or illegal for some reason. I second your concerns about the number of people outside the building. I also read a casting spoiler which I will not share here, but it is someone not in the building.
  4. I think you're both right. My mom's were metal and it wasn't that long after 9/11. It always makes me chuckle though cause when I was in middle school my soccer team and I flew to Europe to play (we were not great, it was one of those sister cities things]. Anyway, one of the guys got on the plane not realizing he had a hunting knife in his backpack. Wasn't stopped once by security.
  5. Rewatching episode 1, the omelet thing is so obvious.
  6. Perhaps it's just that my 85 year old mother is very intimidating.
  7. The only experience I have with "the law" and knitting needs is my mom having hers taken away from her at airport security.
  8. Yeah, that was bizarre. I get arming yourself if you're a woman walking alone in a big city, but the needle seems like it wouldn't be a good choice for several reasons.
  9. There's also the murder in that park that was mentioned in the pilot. I hope they don't do it, but they can always change the title each season To Only Murders in the (fill in the blank]
  10. Also depends if Oscar is telling the truth. I assume he is cause he lied at first, but who knows.
  11. I did watch The View clip now. In the Colbert interview they talk about how Gomez taught them about WAP and both Martin and Short played along. In The View interview they say that they wanted to teach Gomez how to banjo and she could not have been less interested. I WANT TO BANJO! PICK ME! I honestly do not mean to pick on her. I don't know her or her work. I just have a bad taste in my mouth. Probably leftover morning turkey.
  12. I said this in the Small Talk thread. "I watched it and agree. I cringed when Martin Short went to casually put his left arm up on the couch behind (but not around Gomez] and removed it like he just touched a hot stove. The arm thing is common for talk show guests and later in the interview, Steve Martin does it towards Short and it just is what it is. But so many other signs she is not pleased to be there or part of the show. Sad really." What I didn't say and may be misremembering is Colbert asked her if she knew about Martin and Short before and she was like, not really.
  13. Will do. I only just now realized that this conversation was not in the media thread when I posted about the View.
  14. Just started this interview on The View. No Gomez this time. Interesting.

  16. Awesome! I find all the window pictures incredibly creepy for some reason.
  17. FUN FACT! I don't know why I decided to look it up, but I googled "Steve Martin Looney Toons" and sure as shooting he is actually in a Looney Toons movie. It's called "Looney Toons: Back in Action." From the trailer Martin is the villain and dislikes Bugs and all the toons. Sadly Porky is not in the trailer so who knows how he fits in. I will not be taking one for the team and watching this to see if there are any further Easter Eggs, but I thought it was interesting.
  18. I did not know that. Serial is one of the few podcasts I've listened to and it was sponsored by MailChimp. After listening to a podcast about murder the word MailChimp was extra hilarious. If anyone shows up at my house with a turkey, day or night, I am accepting that bird. All 19 pounds of it. No questions asked.
  19. If we're talking unexpected greetings, "Salutations" is up there.
  20. Oh, totally. I laughed hard at it, but then thought, "wait, this can't just be a song that people who play music know off the top of their heads." But, as I said, I don't play an instrument so I have zero idea how quickly people can pick things up. I do highly enjoy when musicians play a song in another style whether it's modern music on classical instruments or classical music on electric guitars. I'm now drifting into the small talk category. Sorry.
  21. I'll check that out! OMitB reminds me off Trial and Error (gone too soon]. It's got quirky characters, somewhat famous cast and cameos and is loosely based on other source material -- In Trial and Error it's the Staircase, which if you haven't seen that I highly recommend. It's less serious and some might not like the quirky comedic tone, but it's got a Murder Board that puts OMitB suspect board to shame. Available on Amazon Prime. Maybe some other places, too but I bought it after it came out so that's as far as I looked.
  22. From what I remember they do not, but the friends that I visited there may have removed them cause there was a lot of time spent hanging out on the fire escape.
  23. They have "Da Ya Think I'm Sexy" sheet music for the alto sax. I know nothing about instruments. I just assume this would work for all the instruments you blow into.
