  1. I really enjoyed that competition. I wish that's what the regular season had been like.
  2. I really like Keo but can't stand Lolo. I hope she goes, and Keo stays in another form. I apparently like the pros more than the celebrities, especially since I only recognize 4 of them. The young girls can all go in my opinion. I didn't think any were that good, and they all seemed to not fit in with the fun vibe of the others. I thought the focus on the Val showmance with his partner was because they don't really get along that well. She seems to be trying to oversell, and he seems uncomfortable. I also think it's sad that his partner doesn't know the difference between abs and pecs. I'd like to see the pros dancing with other pros. I only watched last season of this show, so I don't know much about the pros. I was surprised when they said Val was a 14 time champion and Keo was an 8 time champion. I want to see some of that dancing. Julianne's dress made me uncomfortable for her. I don't think she's all that great personality-wise, but she deserved a better look than that. I find it uncomfortable, too, that she's judging her own brother, even if it doesn't really mean much. Seems to take away what little impartiality or weight the judges had. I want Alfonso to win. I loved him on the Fresh Prince and he seems to be genuinely kind and charming.
  3. This course just seemed so anticlimactic. No real excitement. The whole season seemed to drag. I think Brian Arnold just put too much pressure on himself, and I was surprised the long haired rock climber fell so early. The Dr. always seems to be having so much fun doing his own run and watching everyone else. I thought Jo Jo was great - fun, excited, had a blast even if he fell. That's the type I like to watch. I thought the best part of the show was how everyone was so worried about him being hurt, and he just laughed it off because he can't swim.
  4. Is the payout only for the first finisher or for all finishers. I have a feeling he knows a couple of his training buddies could finish, and he wants a shot at being first.
  5. I think Brody's reason for not going is perfectly valid. His father and stepmother made sure to invite and pay for his brother and sister in law (who could afford the trip themselves if they wanted) for all the special events and the wedding itself without seeming to invite Brody to the special events - Kris said that if Brody got to Paris they'd figure out the dinners etc - or even seem to care if Brody attended at all. It sure seems to be an issue beyond the wedding and more about how he's treated in general. Why bother going to all the trouble and expense of the trip when they don't really want you there anyway. Based on what the show shows of Brody's relationship with Bruce, Kris, and the Kardashians, it's probably a familiar scenario for him. I find the dynamics with Brandon (the peace maker), Brody (won't always fake it), Bruce (wants an easy relationship on his terms) fascinating. I don't understand how any decent parent would flat out tell one son that he's paying for the other because the other son is basically more eager to please.
  6. I really hope that Ryan and Nelsan get steady, quality roles after this. I know the show doesn't seem to agree, but these two have the been stand outs for me the entire time.
  7. Am I supposed to find it funny that the main character laughs at peoples' names to their faces? Or that a sign containing the word fart is hysterical? Am I supposed to think it's funny to steal from a bakery or to get a friend (that is continually lied to) fired? Is that what we do in America, and I've just been missing out? Why can't he just tell his former clients that he is no longer a practicing accountant instead of hiding behind ornamental foliage? Is it supposed to be funny that other countries have different driving rules than we do? It's one thing to be able to laugh along with the show at the stereotypes of my own culture, This show feels like it's laughing at me as an American, which clearly means I am a pretentious, self-righteous jerk with no regard for other people or reality. The only redeeming quality in this mess is seeing how pretty Sweden is. Why can't they write good-natured conflict? There's plenty to write about in adapting to the differences between here and Europe without making the main character an unlikeable fool.
  8. I don't know what it says about me, but this Branch is working for me. I would be perfectly happy with full episodes being Branch running around slightly crazy trying to figure things out. Vic just annoys me. She's everything I don't like in women on TV - harpy, whiny, indecisive, making decisions based on who she's crushing on instead of logic and competence. I really don't care who killed Martha, and Henry's entire case is so implausible I can't manage to care about that either.
  9. Him and Brandon and Leah. They actually seem to be real people and really like each other. It's refreshing compared to the rest.
  10. I know Brett is supposed to be a fan favorite, but I just cannot stand him. The smugness he gives off is in such contrast to the other athletes' support and awe. When Kacy made it to the end, he couldn't just let her have her moment but had to climb up there, too. None of the wives or girlfriends had to intrude like that. I hope they use those wild cards on more deserving and/or likeable competitors like the one who DQ'ed himself or the corrections officer from one of the other cities that dipped his toe in the water. Ones that actually qualified for the finals instead of falling two years in a row. I'm warming up to Kacy. That was amazing to watch, which is why I like this show, but I can do without the hamming up with the audience during the course.
  11. I think this is the only real part of the entire show - Brandon and Brody's tentative relationship with Bruce. When Bruce made that comment about raising 10 kids, there seemed to be a shift in Brody - not as cordial as he was before. As much as Brody and Brandon may want to have their father in their lives now, there are probably a lot of random little things that remind them of all those other times they wanted him around. Offhand comments about raising kids probably doesn't help. It seems like there's so much more that Brandon and Brody want to say and either don't because they want Bruce around or because the cameras are around. When Bruce was complaining to Brandon, it was like Brandon was itching to say more but wouldn't. I hope they figure it out. It's good that Bruce has realized some of his mistakes, but I can't fault either son for how they treat him now - whether dropping everything to spend time with Bruce or only spending time with Bruce when nothing else is going on. As much as I'd like to say that they're grown men and should get over it, it must be really difficult (no matter what other benefits you've had in life) to know that your parent basically abandoned you and wants to pick up a relationship decades later when it's more convenient for them.
