  1. Butch is pitiful, but I'm guilty in that I feel sorry for him after seeing his visit with the shrink (Tyler was there, too) when he told about his childhood. Since TM is considered Reality TV I'd rather see ten more of Butch than one impeccable Macy.
  2. Ha, yes. I saw that, too. I also noticed that Lily took the ring, smiled coyly, and had very little to say. Did "Thank you" get edited from the scene? About James: To start, I'm in agreement with those who think he should toss that ridiculous skull cap. What the ??? Also, was he channeling Tyler (from Teen Mom) in his wide-eyed, incredulous reactions to Mom and Sis relating the Facts of Labor & Delivery (and penile foreskin)? Another actor-in-training, courtesy of "reality" tv.
  3. Just some random thoughts: The “Jen Trigger” might refer to sadness and guilt that Ryan feels when his mother's name is mentioned. It may remind him of the way his addiction has affected his mother’s life, as well as how it has impacted Bentley’s visits with both Jen and Larry. Ironically, when an addicted person experiences unpleasant feelings their first impulse is to reach for something to squash those emotions, usually their drug of choice or some other mood-altering substance. As most people would suspect, the addict has weak coping abilities. This is how the vicious cycle of addiction continues and continues... Bentley: Bentley does not appear to be suffering or coming up short by way of his relationship with Jen and Larry. Bentley, after all, is not Ryan, and is being raised primarily by Maci (and now Taylor, I guess). To assume he will turn out just like Ryan because of Jen and Larry's rather limited involvement with him seems unfair. If anything, they seem to be contributing in a positive way to his development. Drug Treatment: With all of these things in mind, it would certainly be in all of their best interests for Ryan to get into a 90-day (30 at the absolute minimum) rehab. facility. While no one can force an addict into treatment, Ryan’s love for his parents may eventually move him to get help. After all, they are all HE has, too. As for insurance or financial constraints preventing Ryan from entering a treatment program longer than 21 days, since Ryan is a "reality star," I wonder if it would be possible for him to use his so-called celebrity to acquire a spot (referred to as "scholarships") in a decent treatment facility. I think it could be done, but Larry and Jen would probably need to assist Ryan in contacing treatment centers and inquiring about availability. Jen/Larry: Larry looks as though he’s ready to implode. Maybe, as some of you have surmised, this could relate to the “behind-the-scenes” occurrences that he’s not at liberty – or not encouraged by MTV – to tell. I remember the ominous way he said, “The truth will come out,” or something to that effect with respect to Maci, etc. As for The Edwards’ not going to Al-Anon meetings, well, again, no one knows what happens when the cameras aren’t there. Then again, many parents are reluctant to attend Al-Anon meetings, even when told they’d be doing so in the best interests of their child, because they themselves drink or take prescription drugs, etc., and fear being perceived as hypocrites. Many parents feel that they should be leading sober lives in order to support their child(ren) in their recovery.
  4. About the name Timothy: Funny thing is, whenever I hear of a baby called, "Timothy," I wonder if he'll be short or tall. Every Tim I've ever known has been very short, leading me to think of Tiny Tim in A Christmas Carol. Speaking of names, I could live without ever hearing of another McKayla, MacKenzie, McKinzey or McKenzie. It all gets kind of confusing.
  5. Hmm, so son-of-Jelly walks first... I had assumed, based on what Caelan has said on the show, that McKayla didn't show that much consistent interest in him. (When McKayla expressed her displeasure about his spending excessive time with friends, he claimed that it's the first time he'd ever heard her say that.) I get the feeling that McKayla sort of picked and chose when to be with Caelen in her pre-pregnancy days, but now that baby has arrived she's decided she wants him around. Not that there's anything wrong with that expectation, from an objective perspective. In any case, if you take the above theory and couple it with the ongoing conflict between Shannon and Shelly, the prospect of McKayla and Caelen sustaining their already-tenuous relationship seems less than promising.
  6. There are always exceptions, but drug abusers are not using prescription opiates the way they did when the "opiate epidemic" first started. For one thing, many of the prescription painkillers currently available are manufactured differently nowadays (to deter abuse), and many of them lack the potency they once had. Furthermore, many physicians have reduced the amount of opiates they prescribe, even to legitimate pain patients. My guess is that Ryan was using anything he could get his hands on, with a preference for heroin due to its availability, cost, and potent high. If that turns out to be the case I hope and pray he abstains from using it in the future due to the fentanyl that is now being mixed into the heroin.
  7. Probably because she is not just talking... she did - and is doing - the actual work of raising a child, not simply giving birth. (Ironic, isn't it, that labor is actually the easiest part of motherhood, when you get right down to it.) I doubt Shelly is envious that Shannon got to have several kids. Can't she still have children of her own? Maybe I missed something. In any case, I like Shelly and can appreciate her resentment towards Shannon. On the other hand, I feel sympathy towards Shannon, too, in a way. She's admitted she messed up. What I don't understand is Shannon's bringing another child into the world. Her years of drug use have hindered her maturity; she has the emotional maturity of a fifteen year old.
  8. Well, what do you know.... Not surprised at all. (and you're so right about where to go for the real dirt). This info. makes me despite both Patrick and his mother.
  9. I'm still not sure about the mother because she's reacting to whatever b-s Patrick told her - or didn't tell her. He gave himself away in one scene (two or three episodes ago) when he said he went to Paris "on faith" that things would go well with him and Myriam. From that comment coupled with Myriam's side of the story it seems she never did profess any romantic interest in him. Patrick's trip to France was based on his own starry-eyed delusions.
  10. Yes. Of all of these guys I find him to be almost endearing, in a way. I like him. It is hard to believe he's - what? - ten years older than Jenny. Other than the bald pate he has a young way about him and I'd guess him to be much younger than he is. Jenny could do much worse. Of all of these couples this is the only pair I see working out -- and that's still a rather big "maybe." I hope they last, anyway. The best case scenario would be that Jenny does come to America with Larry. It would also be nice to find that she and Larry's cousin's wife mend bridges and become friends despite the wife's initial reservations about Jenni and Jenny's defensive reaction.
  11. That would be a reasonable approach to charitable giving. The problem I see with conventional protocols is that there is very little normalcy in the country itself (Haiti). Sean's whole motive for giving anything at all is to snag Abby, not show her what an altruistic guy he is through donating to her Haitian countrymen. Maybe the gift card idea would have some appeal, though, as long as it was going directly to Abby.
  12. Jesse exuded such enthusiasm in this last episode, like a newly-released prisoner. He was overjoyed to be sending her back to the States!
  13. Sprockets, my thoughts exactly! Lifted from the pages of some cheap online novella. His mother may be Jewish, but his last name, which I'm assuming is his father's surname, is Italian. https://www.facebook.com/larry.passariello And - oh, it can't be: Here's Larry Passariello again, this time on his own Youtube channel; apparently he fancies himself a filmmaker. https://www.youtube.com/user/thebigmovie777
  14. I agree that Myrian is sick of Patrick. They've been together so far a whole three days (?), but a little of Patrick goes a long way. Patrick, in his naivete, believed that Myriam was interested in him. I'd love to see the entire backstory of these two in order to learn just what she said (or didn't say) to convince him to go all the way to Paris, as he's reminded us numerous times. Surely she conveyed a romantic, rather than casual, interest in him, right?
  15. Yep, and I suspect Zoila would've done herself a favor by underplaying the situation. I find it odd that she's been with Jeff for 16 or so years, but hasn't adjusted to his sense of humor? If the two share such a close mother-son-type bond, why wasn't she able to discern Jeff's particular brand of humor from outright malice? Also, she's been around these people - Meghan, Jenni and Gage - long enough to know that none of them is against her (hasn't it been the other way around, specifically with respect to Zoila's poorly-concealed feelings about Gage?) Is she really that thin skinned? A simple, "yeah, I said it," or "I was just joking when I said it," or even, "I was feeling tired and miserable when I said those things; I'm sorry." might have put this fire out before it got out of control. For that matter, she could just as easily have laughed it off, and used a self-deprecating remark to diffuse the "jury's" antics. I think that would have stopped them in their tracks.
  16. I'm glad she's gone, too. She brought nothing to the show and, evidently, nothing positive to the household, either. She's gotten much too comfortable. In Zoila's defense, the scene where she is climbing the stairs showed the extent to which she is slowing down and getting tired - very tired. The "mock trial?" I thought it was hilarious, and seeing Jeff laugh the way he did after each "guilty" made me laugh all the more. Jeff can be a lot of fun, even if it is often at another's expense. I feel Zoila's "day in court" was well-deserved. The fact that she could not bring herself to utter so much as an "I'm sorry" to Laura - even if she didn't mean it - revealed much about her character. In this situation, she was stubborn and unyielding; she also refused to let anyone talk, and would not admit any fault. An all-around difficult and immature personality.
  17. That is very interesting, EggsnBacon, to say the least. Also, you are not being judgmental in the least; you are stating facts based on what you have witnessed and learned while working as a nurse in Haiti.
  18. Initially I wasn't convinced that Abby was trying to make Chris jealous; I've since changed my mind, and agree with that observation. Going back to the scene where she meets Chris at the airport: Abby, in an enthusiastic voice, refers to Sean (when talking to Chris) as "my baby." In hindsight, I think her motive is pretty obvious. Unfortunately for Abby, Chris does not show so much as a tad of jealousy or even curiosity, for that matter, other than casually asking Abby whom she is referring to. When she tells him, "Sean," the topic ends, just like that.
  19. Not to mention the air quality in L.A. is the worst in the nation.
  20. *I read that Lifetime has some new movies in the pipeline (all based on true stories); if anyone knows of any others on the horizon, do tell! Panties in the Wind The Lush he Met Online The Perfect Chump Bimbos For Sale He's Too Old She’s Too Dumb *jk
  21. I completely recognize the controlling, narcissistic behavior you described. Jesse's "Let me finish" and "what is up with the attitude?" brought back dark memories for me, as well. I can't tell you how many times my ex would snap at me with the "Let me finish!" command. When Darcy said, "Problem solved," after Jesse told her that he resolved the closet situation, he shot back with, "But that's just it; there is no problem." Jesse will never allow Darcy to act naturally, to be herself. His contentious approach to everything she says or does, and his need to control, will kill any chance of a lasting relationship.
  22. Yes, thanks for picking up that error on my part; I did go back and fix it, I thought .
  23. Just watched part of the most recent episode of TM2 and found it to be intolerable. The network has dropped to a new low with the introduction of Briana and her trashy family. I know others backthread have already commented on the family's filthy language (and terrible grammar) - mostly spoken in Nova's presence - yet I can't help but leave a few comments of my own. All three of these women - Briana, her mother, and Brittany - can't seem to get a simple sentence out of their mouths without inserting f**k. Poor Nova, Stella, and the next one or two or three. The mother telling Luis, "You're a ****** ******(what was bleeped out?) douchebag, bro'. First off, is this a mother or an 18-year-old gang member? No wonder her daughters appear even less motivated - and more skanky - than they did five years ago; not much example in the way of "mom." Tell me, shouldn't this woman be saving the greater share of disapproval and lectures for her own daughter? How does this mother justify rebuking Luis with such disdain when Briana is the one who chose this situation with full awareness of the difficulties involved in raising another child? Briana likes to parrot her mother's criticisms, yet seems to conveniently overlook her own part in the situation. Finances come up regularly during the family's harping sessions, but I have read that in early 2016 Briana had cosmetic "enhancements," including a boob job, a butt lift, and labiaplasty (so that she could feel comfortable during sex). Maybe she and her family should have talked about saving some of that money she earned from MTV the first time instead of blowing it on cosmetic procedures. Since Briana was aware of the costs involved in pregnancy and child rearing, why did she not apply good judgment before getting pregnant or even afterwards? Adoption came up, but Luis would not agree to it? I call b-s, and would have told Luis to "put your money where your mouth is." He'd be signing over his paternal rights before Briana and family could utter another "f**k." Briana didn't try hard enough because she wanted this child. Not so sure about her mother, though, but I suspect the mother has performed much of Nova's care and foresees the same scenario occurring with Stella. All the more reason she should've shifted her focus from Luis to Briana BEFORE it all turned into a rerun of the first time.
