  1. I've changed my mind. Harvey and Donna won't work and the new gal is a nice change of pace. Not fond of Donna and Louis either.
  2. Decent show for a change. Love the combo of Robert and Mike. The Harvey vs Louis and Jack makes for an interesting personal drama. Minimize Rachel, highlight Jessica and it makes Suits the show most of us fell in love with in the beginning.
  3. I've decided to ignore the money aspects of the show and concentrate on the ideas of flipping the properties as their cost figures are BS.
  4. I really do want to like this show. If you get past the constant Tarek mystified looks and whining about reno cost it's cute to watch the young couple and their ideas to upgrade these old homes. However it's not realistic as to their reno cost and other cost they fail to disclose i.e. co-op real estate fees, city inspection fees and either the cost for their line of credit or the percentage they pay their real estate investors. But I have a simple solution. My DVR of the last show cut off before they got to the brag part of how much they made and for me that made the show bearable to watch.
  5. Didn't get to watch the first 20 minutes as our power was out. Will catch later this weekend. On a 1-10 scale this is how I view the characters. Jessica 9 Harvey 8 Mike 6 Donna 6 Rachel 2 Louis 1
  6. Just came across this show and I'm interested in getting caught up with some midwestern albeit Texas home reno. My daughter went to Baylor so it makes catching up with the past episodes something I look forward to.
  7. Meh. At least they got back to some legal work. I guess I might as well come to grips with the fact personal issues are going to be part of this show and learn to deal with the few and far between things that made this show in the beginning a great show. I'm tiring of Rachel but more so the Lewis Litt character. How freaking needy, emotional and flaky can one character be. I liked the old asshole Lewis a lot better in the beginning.
  8. Another thing that bugs me is the "as is" concept in SoCal. It has got to be a sellers market to pay the asking price without seeing the property to access and then deal with the deplorable shape of the interior. But the one that blew me away was the house they paid the asking price, had to wait 30 days for the renters to be evicted, deal with clean-up, demolition, fumigation and then have a mechanics lien to boot. No where but SoCal would that crap be kosher. Another thing is sales commissions are never disclosed. It's hard to imagine that none of the buyers of the flips have real estate agents. The closing cost are not enough to include commissions. The co-op fee on a $500k should be somewhere in the $16-17k range. I think this is a show to enjoy the reno process, the cuteness of the couple, the flattering finished product and ignore the money figures as they aren't properly disclosed or even remotely real world applications.
  9. Quantity discounts are small as labor cost are static. You might get a small (5-10%) discount for cash but nothing remotely as cheap as they are getting stuff done. Again has to be illegal labor to be done this cheap. Demo cost has to include dump fees plus hauling fees and in SoCal those have to be big. I assumed the furniture is stored and reused but just the cost to stage and take down again seem really low.
  10. New guy here. Started watching Flip or Flop for several reasons. 1. I'm a retired single family builder from the midwest so reality show on houses are my deal. 2. It doesn't hurt that Christina is really cute. Thoughts. 1. Their reno cost are stupid low. Must be California illegal labor to do stuff that cheap. Your gonna redo the plumbing on a 1000 sf home for $6k. BS. 2. Love the staging they do but again the cost seem stupid low to provide that much furniture that cheap. 3. Somewhere I read they have 15 flips going at the same time. In SoCal traffic that would seem almost impossible to do and keep pace. Still a cute show but the numbers to an old builder don't seem right.
  11. I'm ready for the new season. Hope they keep the convoluted plots to a minimum this time. I predict Donna will be back with Harvey in no less than 3 shows.
  12. If the Bachelor series is a -5 on a 10 scale for insipid reality TV, then this show is a -3. I won't watch another year of this tripe.
  13. I see where Jessica already has a protection order out on Ryan. http://my.xfinity.com/articles/entertainment-eonline/20150615/b666840/

  16. This has been one of my favorite shows over the past ten years or so. However the writers have so many story lines and characters in play writing a final episode to deal with it all seems a daunting task at least to me. I anticipated some half baked final that will leave more questions unanswered than answered. One final thought. The gratuitous act by Boyd with the truck owner was pretty lame IMHO.
  17. Sam Elliot is one of my favorite actors of all time but in this show, he doesn't look right, almost like he had a stroke or something. Still love the character though.
  18. This has been one of my favorite shows in a long time. Having said that the writers have way to many characters and plot lines to tie up in 4 episodes without some convaluted ending.
  19. For a show that I've enjoyed immensely over the years, this without a doubt is the worst show they've had. That was a waste of an hour of my life.
  20. I just watched the show and thank God they are getting back to lawsuits even with a few added twists to the show. Jeff leaving is a plus and Louis being the normal Louis is good. As for Donna and the ill gotten report. In the real world the plaintiff getting sealed records would be a big issue not unlike the report Donna got. One would think Harvey and Mike will make that an issue in the final show for the season.
  21. I'm slowly losing interest if and when they don't get back to the legal profession and some interesting lawsuits. Suits is like several other USA shows that I liked, Burn Notice and White Collar. Both were excellent to watch until the writers ran out of decent story lines and then both got very convoluted, much like Suits is now.
  22. Even though the show is losing some steam it's still better that 90% of the tripe on TV between the dumb ass reality shows and the formula shows on the commercial networks is trying to foist off on the viewing public.
  23. I wish Donna would tell Louis to GFH. As for the scorched earth Louis that side of him for a whole show was way, way too much. Time to get back to lawsuits and what makes this show watchable.
  24. Man o man I'm ready for another season of Suits
  25. Not sure why everyone is so negative about this show. It's TV. It's not supposed to make sense but be entertaining. If you want reality there's 45 channels playing reality shows non-stop.
