Well, I estimate I have used that word on average twelve times a day. So six days times twelve means I gladly offer you seventy-two free uses. Given everything, that should get you through until maybe noon tomorrow? Maybe. Hunh. For the first time in my life the expression “I have no more fucks to give” means exactly that. 🤣

Honestly, I loved this show as I watched it for the first time over the summer. There were many, many times I laughed out loud and in 2020? Priceless. But I am currently slogging through Season Six, which, as you’ll see if you do some reading of the forum, many, many people find...problematic. So I hope you enjoy it as much as I did and that you consider stopping about a third of the way through Season Six. 😁

So...this is my possible revelation du jour. Yes, I have to blame the showrunners for giving the character pretty much zero character growth over the years. Every time Rory seems to mature a bit, she takes three steps back the next episode. But the reality is that Alexis Bledel just isn’t a very good actress. There, I said it. She’s a beautiful girl, but her character and mannerisms as young woman Rory are almost exactly the same as she displayed as teen Rory, minus the drive and self-discipline. She’s still slouching awkwardly, shyly looking up from under her hair, and mumbling diffidently most of the time. She plays off Lorelai and Paris pretty well, but everyone else? Not so much. I never have been convinced of her passion for any of her boyfriends...half the time she looks like she’s trying to back away when she’s supposed to be in a steamy makeout session. I was going to give her some slack for being really young when the show started, but I just googled and she was nineteen. Hardly a kid. Feh.

Actually, people can get non-alcoholic fatty liver disease from drinking soda and juice in large quantities for a long enough period of time. There are kids with fatty liver disease just from constantly drinking soda and juice. And I agree, that’s exactly what he looks like.

Thank you so much for the update...she’s such a beauty and has such a sweet face. I want her happy! It may take a while for any of the meds to kick in, OTC or prescription. So give it some time, yes? Also, please be sure to mention how stiff and trembling she gets when you see the vet? As we used to say about good clients, you “give great history,” which is incredibly helpful. Nothing more fun than a big old taciturn owner staring at you saying, “he ain’t right” repeatedly while you try to figure it out in the three minutes you have before you have to summarize it for the vet, who invariably that day is In A Mood. We literally had a chart acronym for this “condition”...ADR. Ain’t Doing Right. Best to Portia and you!

When I worked at the shelter we heard it ALL THE TIME. People used a dog as a practice baby, had a real baby, and dumped the dog because “we have no time for the dog.” Grrr. But surrendering it is a whole lot better that shutting it in a closet. Jesus. Although maybe the dog was a biter before...some dogs just are. As much as I love them, there are dogs that just aren’t right. But owners need to step up. And while I’m on my soapbox, owning a dog is life-changing, both for good and bad. People really need to understand what’s required and whether they can meet a dog’s needs before they get one. I am very concerned that in life post-Covid, too many people who adopted dogs during lockdown are going to return to normal life and end up surrendering the dogs again.

Please, please be careful. Have a bag packed with all of your important papers in it, medications, etc. You have talked to the Domestic Violence resources in your area, yes? Put their contact info in your phone and always keep your phone with you. I really hope things work out for you. But choking is the single strongest warning sign before domestic homicide. Be safe, okay? First time your gut tells you something isn’t right, get out. Wishing you well...
