S08.E13: Steel Calzones
For Cereals replied to Tara Ariano's topic in The Real Housewives Of New York City
Have we gotten to the bottom of window-gate yet? Jules is just weird to me and ITA that it wasn't a joke but a way to ruin her food like Jesus Juggs pouring ketchup on her sundae or injuring yourself on a window so that you can get more meds--don't they live in a fairly modern high rise? Where do you find a window to climb through anyway unless it was from the debris on their other house with the pool in the living room... I don't think Bethenny and Carole were being mean about the pizza or drugs...like also recognizes like... -
S.E.X. All of them seem to have religious leanings and I think they all rushed into marriage so they could get it on. You would think that they would've undergone some sort of religious counseling prior to discuss money and kids, etc., but I'm a heathen so I don't know how that works. Maybe it was all "great that you're getting married before having sex now go with God." It's really sad how little they know about money, BUT you know there are "adults" who know even less, which is really scary.
-
Yes, she's 24, but one would hope that she won't be the same at 30 or 40, which is why the others have the edge over her. I think back on the dumb shit I said and did in my 20s and I know I'm not that person anymore and I think that comes with age and reflection, which she doesn't have yet. I would imagine it's that much harder with 2 kids in tow--her maturity should be accelerated for her kids' sake and fortunately, she has money and family and privilege, but even with that, I doubt she's fully grown into the person she will ultimately become which is why I say she's still a child or child-like, definitely not a fully formed adult mentally...Although it would be sad if she stays in arrested development like TRav.
-
I'm not going to go so far as to say she was high, but she is essentially a child and she has a temper. She could be the type that when they see red, things don't come out right, which can change with maturity. The others are older, have lived longer, received more education, etc., so while I don't think she's stupid, she's young and immature. I don't think she had to sit there and take it, I just wish she would've come off more articulate because (while I'm not going to stop watching the show) I can't stand the double standard shown to this girl and I kind of want to root for her if for nothing else to hear her tell Landon to shut up again. Some of the arguments are silly, but I can't help but laugh when she calls her a dolphin or tells her to shut up... I'm surprised that they didn't immediately start with Landon's friend's confession about TRav and Landon sleeping together. I hope it does come up. Based on the relationship fuckery between Kathryn and Thomas with the on again off again, I can see Kathryn getting pissed about TRav taking Landon to London even if nothing happened, which I think it did.

A season of clipshows...What the hell actually happened this season? Light stringing? Thanksgiving place settings? I don't feel like we've learned anything new. Who did Christine's lashes? Janel looks uncomfortable like she can't put her arms down. Kodouche looks confused. Meri looks more and more like a muppet to me each week--overly tan Nerf face like Miss Piggy's cousin, which isn't a read because I think Piggy looks great, but it's just odd when people look like muppets.

Say Yes To The Dress - General Discussion
For Cereals replied to Rhondinella's topic in Say Yes To The Dress
I watch a ton of tv period, but I always watched the wedding shows for the before and after and OTTness of it all and then I got engaged (15 years in--we have a house and dogs, not planning kids, you get comfy and busy), after drinking many mimosas, my friend and I went to David's Bridal for fun. They try to class up the process by making you wait for a consultant and then tackily ringing that damned bell if you say "yes." It was miserable for me. Everyone was nice and helpful, but I hated all the dresses-heavy, uncomfortable, hot (could've been the booze), but I realized that I'm not that girl and I just couldn't with the money even if Vera was deeply discounted. Haven't watched the shows really since but tuned in today to see the manufactured drama with Randy and the new male consultant. I think I'm done with the show. I do miss Four Weddings, though. And I'm probably going to be at the court house in my flowered Lands End dress with pockets if I can finally figure out to hyphenate or not...maybe another 15 years. -
Before They Were Housewives: LuAnn
For Cereals replied to Talented Tenth's topic in The Real Housewives Of New York City
This! For all her social climbing selfishness and I still don't care for her recently--she seems desperate--her special was interesting and real. I could only think of Sonja (if she could be lucid enough or LVP) even competing with it. I was so going to skip this, but glad I watched. -
S08.E12: Always the Bitch, Never the Bride
For Cereals replied to Tara Ariano's topic in The Real Housewives Of New York City
It seems like gynos and radiologists are on board now, but the verdict appears to be out on childbirth after UFE. The gyno said no, absolutely not because there's not enough data, while the radiologist said it's possible and that he's seen many healthy pregnancies. Kids were not really part of my plan, but good to know they may not be completely off the table. To tie back to the show, I'm just really surprised how little these women know about their bodies beyond face fixes and rejuvenation. Yes, a medical directive is part of the process...maybe more so once they establish that you are "not married." -

Just had UFE 2 weeks ago. First night home was hell because they don't keep you overnight, but definitely less invasive than surgery if one is a candidate. Instead of shopping at Home Goods, which sponsored the show, I would be googling everything I could before my emergency appointment to learn my options, but I guess telling anyone who'll listen that you're bleeding all over the place is just as good...yay leather pants! WTF? I love dogs. I have 2, but the wedding was over the top. Is there nothing else for them to do? I can't with Ramona. They all act like Mexico is somewhere magical. They all have money, they can go without the Bethenny ass licking. -
Yes, he ate all those egg sandwiches. ? Aside from religion pushing these kids to get married so they can have sex, at least the parents seem somewhat reasonable in terms of advising the couples, or at least they do in their THs. I'm in. Slim pickins this summer.

Season 7 Finale Special - Check Up With Dr. Drew, Part 1
For Cereals replied to Tara Ariano's topic in Teen Mom 2
Leah does look haggard. It's a weird comparison, but either she's hitting the gym too hard (which I don't believe), or the "emotional issues for which she sought non-rehab" have really aged her. Dr. Drew is useless. He doesn't know any of these people, isn't involved with their stories outside of seeing clips in preparation for the show, and I think it's just irresponsible because MTV portrays it as though he has more involvement. I think if MTV really cared, there would be some kind of professional involved with these girls after their initial season. Maybe a team that could help them learn life skills, handle money, counseling, proper nutrition and child-care while still capturing the drama because teenagers...they don't always listen, still plenty of opportunity. They could've done that as part of their agreement for payment. I know reality shows started out to be like documentaries where production doesn't interfere, but that's so not the case anymore. Everyone is on the payroll, just not making the best use of it. I don't care about the adult shows, the subjects had a chance not to be total train wrecks in their lives so I don't care what's exploited, but these were kids. Or Not...Bad Girls Club started out that way with a counselor, but I guess getting into stupid fights because bitch touched my makeup brush was more ratings-worthy. I digress, good for Corey! Although, it would've been good for Drew to question both Corey and Leah about why their child never uses her chair would've been good, but I guess he didn't see that clip... -
S08.E10: Unhappy Holidays
For Cereals replied to Tara Ariano's topic in The Real Housewives Of New York City
My IQ goes down when Jules comes on screen. She seems nice, but I feel like she's dumber than a rock and doesn't add anything. I like Dorinda, but I think she's a off--they hightailed it out, not hijacked--I think she's the last person to "save Sonja's feelings," she's just as mental. Although everyone needs to stop sending textes/Texas...It's TEXTS! Usually I think Bethenny needs to shut up, and I don't buy into the Carole "I'm just a girl in the city act," (maybe 20 years ago-please also stop with the chokers, 1995 called...) but LuAnn needed to hear about herself. I am also starting to question LuAnn's taste level. The jumpsuit and then whatever that hair and fringe sweater were in her TH looked very Married to the Mob/Real House Wives of NJ 1986. -
S01.E06: He Stilled the Rising Tumult
For Cereals replied to formerlyfreedom's topic in Containment [V]
This show has become a drinking game for me to guess the bad, cliched dialogue that will be said next. -
I'm a little concerned about Daniel seeing and hearing things. Does this mean he will turn soon, or is his PTSD kicking in from all the torture of other Stuff?
-
Why are the OGs on the aftershow? Both groups are equally delusional...is it that hard to come up with material because they can't ask any honest questions and need more people to play the stupid trivia games? The bacon thing was awkward... I just love how the prizes were centered around pampering and relaxation. I so hope Nathan's girlfriend doesn't drop the charges. Jenelle is already screwed...I don't think I would trust any medical facility that had her on staff. It does make you wonder and want background checks on everyone now...

I liked Alex, but that seemed like a total Strand move to me and doesn't make me like him any less or dislike him. How many times does the man have to say "this is my boat."

So the dad show was definitely more entertaining than the mom show and the host actually asked a few real questions and was funny, but still WTF? I don't know why Dumbvid/David was on the show...please don't let them be pregnant. I loved how they questioned Leah's housekeeping habits. I found Jo's response to the Barbie question, as well as the uncomfortable seat shifting by the others, a little unsettling. I could see Isaac asking for a Barbie just because he's sweet and sensitive and probably curious about all toys. I think Chelsea and her family cross the line often about Adam and what they say around Aubrey, but he's just scummy and I feel like if his lips are moving, he's being less than truthful. Based on his arrest and driving record, I don't trust his judgment, nor would I want my child to be with him or around some of his friends unsupervised and his parents don't count. He has been just as wrong trying to manipulate Aubrey into saying things. It's just sad all the way around.

I don't know that I want a second season. I'd be okay if they wrapped it up this season, plus ABC will have gotten their money's worth/mileage out of the music from The Whispers.

S08.E01: Start Spreading The News
For Cereals replied to Tara Ariano's topic in The Real Housewives Of New York City
I don't think I needed to hear Adam speak...the schmoopi dog talk was too much...did Carole get new caps? I feel like her teeth look better... -
So funny... I used to feel sorry for Javi because I thought he got duped for the benefits...well, maybe not wrong there, but he's really childish and petty.
-
I think they all need jobs. Too much idle time to keep having babies and troll Tinder. I would give a pass for being in school, but if they aren't, I would at least expect to see clean houses, kids, cars, home cooked meals made with real food, and them doing activities with their kids, but we see bad t-shirt businesses and get rich quick schemes. Annnd why do they all need so many pets? They should be paid for their time on television, they do pull ratings, but I wish that also came with mandatory money management classes or something.
-
I'm not totally unconvinced that Javi manipulated that whole argument because he saw everyone getting along. He made a bigger deal than he should have about Isaac being unwashed and he knew that using Isaac would get to Kail, although I thought she was smarter than that. I can't watch the aftershow because it's such BS. Most of these girls are in so much denial and have such an inability to take responsibility for their actions, it's hard to watch. It's just as bad as their "friends" who are always siding with the idiocy.

S06.E18: Dubai Daze
For Cereals replied to nowcheckthat's topic in The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills
I think Lisar gets easily distracted. I was with her on the point that because Yolanda is "sick," no one can say anything about what she does or criticize her. She gets a pass for being "sick" and it's okay for her to be self righteous about her illness with all the other women. I appreciate Lisar calling bullshit on that. Although Kyle is easily manipulated, that gala did nothing to provide any further proof or insight about Yo's illness...Then, Lisar started talking to Eileen who is still sore about not getting a real sorry and she points Lisar to LVP. LVP has her own show, I can totally see her shit stirring and I think it's more business than friendship on her part and if she were to acknowledge it, it would be them going all Teen Mom and breaking the 4th wall. -
So you could probably have witnesses from more than one bloodline, right? I will keep watching, but the show is bordering on silly. Maybe because I'm nine, but I laugh every time someone mentions Pandora's box and I feel like she just needs her love tank filled like a housewife of the underworld. I also giggled out loud when the banshee was just running around in the concert hall. If there's no Crabbie, or Crane shirtless thing on this show soon, I will give up.
