I still want Biker Daryl. I love the idea of Biker Daryl being a beloved "uncle" to Rick and Michonne's kids.
-
Not loving the business suit on Daryl, but I'd love an "Uncle Daryl" moment when he lifts up one of the kids and promises to take her/him hunting in a few years. without the person who loves him most in the world being there to witness it firsthand. The writers love giving MM meaty material; there is no way that they'd pass that up. Very good point. I'd read somewhere else that Sasha and Rosita being in the line up certainly could spell trouble for Abe, but it hadn't crossed my mind at all that a lack of Carol in the line up means Daryl is safe. Now I wonder if this (possible) cliffhanger is also a way for the show to kill off someone like Abe and avoid major immediate backlash from fans who are really frothing at the mouth for the death of one of the original cast.

Even though I don't need the clutter in my life, I've managed to keep several notes I passed with friends in high school. It's been nearly 30 years since I spoke to most of these people, but I can still recognize their handwriting. I think I have only one note with a handwriting I can't recognize and that made me sad.

I rolled my eyes, too. I thought it was a very cute scene, but it was too late for me. And it felt patronizing. That whole "let's eat from each other because we're so close" scene was so annoying because the show had a couple of seasons to do that for us. They've been living together. Of course they share food. Why highlight it now? And not to bring Richonne into this, but some people keep asking why Richonne shippers are terrified Michonne will be killed, or Rick will hurt her in some devastating way, and I've been trying to explain this is why. Joe's death surprised me. If I cared more about this show, that scene would have really hurt me. If I cared more about the show and Lyndie Greenwood, I'd probably be declaring my intentions to stop watching since that was cruel. I have to admit I'm surprised people think the show has a shot at renewal. I haven't been following the numbers, so I've just assumed it will be canceled. I simply don't see how it can come back after this season. I think BB King said it best, "The thrill is gone, baby." The finale will have to have some seriously intense Crane/Abbie bonding scenes for me to even consider watching another season, but I just don't see how NB and TM can get their chemistry back. Spoilers and Spoiler Discussion: How's Your Head?

Poor Nicole. I can't even imagine how awful that must have been. I hope she finds a show worthy of her after this. I like her a lot. -
I agree with you about this. For me, showing the audience who Negan's victim is impacts the story; keeping the victim a secret impacts the show. I'd rather have my audience focus on the story, on the immediate grief. We go into the hiatus thinking about Rick and everyone who was forced to witness the murder. Yeah, I'd rather spend the summer thinking about the characters and what they did right after their friend's death, and how they're coping, etc. With a cliffhanger, the focus will most likely be on which actor doesn't show up to set in May. And there's no guarantee the viewing audience will feel the same way about the death after a 6 - 7 month hiatus. The interruption will definitely dampen the impact for me. That does a disservice to the story and characters, imo. And the extra viewers the show may get for the s7 premiere may not stick around.

Spoilers and Spoiler Discussion: How's Your Head?

Thank you. I remember there were some issues with Katia Winters and her interviews, and I decided not to read anything she said. I'm still not over what happened to Spike and Buffy, so I was determined to ignore all RL interviews/drama. But I also remember Lyndie Greenwood defending Katia because they were roommates, or something, and it made me give Lyndie the side-eye. -
Thanks for the update! That means there are 11 people in the line-up. Or the spoiler about Eugene taking the RV to distract the saviors could mean he's out on his own, taking it down to 10 again. That's a lot of people.

I asked my husband the same thing last night. He said, "It's fiction, honey. Try to remember that." Didn't help.

Looks like TSDF removed the finale tidbit I posted about last night. I hope some of you got to see it? I don't want to see the actual beating or aftermath, but I don't want the season to end not knowing who the victim is. So, if "cliffhanger" means we don't see the gore, I'm okay. If "cliffhanger" means we have no idea who that POV is...I agree with Ronin Jackson here. It would be an exasperating creative decision. I read the way this scene plays out in the comic and I strongly believe ending the scene the original way would have had a greater impact on viewers than leaving us in the dark about the victim. I wish the writers had enough faith in us to know Rick and his crew mean more to us than being surprised by a death reveal in season 7, so leaving us to see their reactions to a death would have left a much larger impact on us. I tend to like the way the show ends some episodes abruptly/oddly and I think they would have done an excellent job ending this finale on the group's reaction to losing one of their own. Too bad it looks like they've decided it's more important to tease us than give us emotional impact. StD reported yesterday that Eugene volunteers to continue driving the RV to trick the saviors into following him. They said he has a farewell scene with Rick and "especially Abraham". If this is true, maybe Eugene isn't in the line up?

I also read there are 9 - 10 people in the lineup. The 10th person is Sasha, which TSDF confirmed a few weeks ago, but StD did not. I'm embarrassed to say I watched a youtube video by an unspoiled guy who was dissecting the finale promo. What I got from that is: He points out Sasha with Rick during the scene when Aaron is being shot at on the road. She is shooting her gun into the air/trees. He also confirms Rick, Abe and Carl are carrying a body/stretcher in the scene I asked about earlier. So Sasha is with Rick and crew in the RV. Back at Alexandria: Father Gabriel, Spencer, Judith and random Alexandrians. Everyone else is captured, and Morgan and Carol are on their own. TSDF has posted a very small tidbit about the Negan/Lucille scene on their tumblr. The tidbit confirms the "eenie meenie" scene switches to Rick's face looking worried when Negan's bat stops on someone, and then the POV switches to the victim, blood pours down the screen and Negan says they are taking it like a champ. The screen goes black and the screaming begins. I'm just paraphrasing here so it's best to go to the site to read it yourself. For some reason, this tidbit bothers me more then anything I've read so far - possibly because it confirms the POV switch and the cliffhanger. All of this time, I guess I've been hoping the spoilers were untrue. http://thespoilingdeadfans.tumblr.com/

JackONeill is right. Negan is talking to Maggie. I know this from the written spoilers, not the audio file. Maggie is still in the middle of having a miscarriage (I assume) and Negan is about to kill her because she's in agony. Glenn freaks out and that's why Negan says they get one free pass and chooses someone else. The other spoiler that I was just reminded of is how Rick and Co learn Michonne and Daryl are hostages. The saviors have set up several roadblocks. One is a group of chained walkers. One walker is wearing Daryl's winged jacket and another walker is sporting some of Michonne's dreads. I assume Rick and Co will assume Daryl and Michonne are dead when they see this, which should be a dramatic moment.

When I was checking my DVR to see what last night's episode was about, the little description mentioned Riff, Vita and Frankie and I had no idea who any of them are (I never bothered to learn Deacon's partner's name is Frankie), and I thought there was a misprint. It just didn't sound like Nashville.

Spoilers and Spoiler Discussion: How's Your Head?
slade3 replied to formerlyfreedom's topic in Sleepy Hollow [V]
Would someone please remind me what happened with Nicole Beharie last season? I remember there seemed to be a lot of shade thrown her way by the show runners, and then she wasn't invited to do commentary on the DVDs, but what actually happened? Thanks. Unfortunately, I've been fast-forwarding the episodes, stopping only for scenes between Crane and Abbie, and Jenny and Joe. Everything else seems embarrassingly bad. The only reason I still DVR this show is just in case there is a declaration of love, or a kiss, between Abbie and Crane. I've never been a hardcore shipper for these two, but I loved their chemistry in season 1 and could see an eventual romance working very well. But that was when I trusted the writers and thought they knew what they were doing! And then there was a point when Nicole B did an interview and said she didn't think they should be a couple, and it seemed as if she lost interest in the show and was trying to move Abbie away from having chemistry with Crane. When actors/show runners insert themselves into a show that way, I lose interest. I won't ship a couple the actors and showrunners are against because that's just too painful (looking at you Buffy the Vampire Slayer). So I haven't really cared whether Abbie and Crane realize their feelings in a long time, but I don't want to miss it if they do. -
Same here. So far, I'm not finding any reason to watch the episode and I may end up deleting it just like I deleted the last two episodes without watching. I'm starting to believe these long breaks the shows take really kill them. I wasn't crazy about Nashville earlier this season, but I was watching every week. This break just made me realize how much I've grown to dislike it and now I can't bring myself to watch again.

I guess that is confirmation the audio is legit. I thought there was a possibility it was planted, but now I'm just surprised they couldn't stop someone from getting their hands on an audio clip.

The only thing that doesn't make a lot of sense to me is why the show would end on a cliffhanger if they are still going with Glenn as the victim. I guess with such a huge viewing audience, very few people read the comics and a Glenn death would still come as a shock next season. It's also possible the show runners don't really see this scene as a cliffhanger, but the viewers who want to see the actual bashing do? From what some are saying, the group is screaming Glenn's name at the end. We'll have to see it, of course, to get a real sense whether that's the case, but if they are, it isn't a true cliffhanger; they've just decided not to show us the end result, which I'm okay with. It's only a cliffhanger if screaming Glenn's name is a fake out. No matter who it is, I feel sorry for the actor. They all seem so close and so happy to be working together. I can't imagine how much it will suck to have to walk away from this group of coworkers - though they can probably see each other often at conventions and stuff.

Thank you, spinxella, for posting that. And thanks, Persnickety, for the youtube link. I waited all day yesterday for something, and then I woke up today to find that audio clip on TSDF and couldn't access it. Now that I'm here and you've posted a usable clip, I can't bring myself to listen. So thank you, Eyes High, for posting that transcript. It looks like the StD spoilers were correct about Negan wanting to kill Maggie to put her out of her misery, but Glenn begs him not to (though from the transcript it is more than just Glenn). The spoilers also indicated Negan threatened to take Carl's eye and feed it to Rick. So, yeah, I guess the StD spoilers are correct (which means there is a cliffhanger?). The one thing the StD spoilers do not mention is a second death, so it looks like Rosita is okay? It's weird that there's no mention of her, and that she isn't in the lineup even though she was with Daryl, Michonne and Glenn, but we'll know where she is (and where Sasha is) in less than 4 days... This is going to be a very hard scene to watch. I had decided not to watch the finale live, but I may change that and simply not watch the last 15 minutes. I don't think this is a scene I'll ever be able to see.
-
I don't know. I just remember reading it, but wasn't sure if it had been debunked. I just realized Aaron would be the second gay character to be killed this season. They wouldn't do that, would they? Sorry I even mentioned him, but I did think insisting on going on a trip like this leads to bad things.

Yes, I think you must be right about the writers not killing another woman. Some fear Maggie will take Glenn's death, but I just can't imagine them killing a pregnant woman, or a woman who is possibly having a miscarriage. That would be ugly even without a barbed wire baseball bat. In the promo, there's a very brief clip of Rick, Carl and Abraham running in the dark, carrying something. Does anyone know what they're carrying? Is it a person? Does anyone remember the rumor/foiler/spoiler that Negan mistakes Sasha for Rick's love interest and kills her? I've read so many foilers these past weeks and since there's some misinformation about whether Sasha is really with the group, I wonder if she stays in Alexandria and simply has very little screen time in the episode. I did go back and read the full StD episode 16 spoilers and I wish I remembered what TSDF confirmed was true from that batch before AMC made them take them down. ETA: I have a feeling Rosita is safe and Aaron could be the second death. According to the StD spoilers, Rick doesn't want Aaron to travel with the group when they take Maggie to Hilltop to see the doctor. Aaron insists, saying Rick will have to punch him again to stop him. Of course, these are StD spoilers and I don't remember if TSDF confirmed that particular tidbit. I have to admit, I'm not excited about Negan. I've read a lot about his charisma, but I just can't like a person who doesn't work for his supplies, but steals them from weaker people. He may be charismatic, but he sounds like nothing but a vicious bully. The comic spoilers that

I hope we get something today or tomorrow. I was pretty confident a few days ago that the three safest characters on the show are Rick, Carl and Michonne for the reasons we've discussed here: Rick: This is his journey Carl: Everything Rick does is for Carl and Judith and the hope-for-the-future they represent Michonne: She is the woman Rick has chosen to take and end this journey with but I'm starting to get nervous about them because of all the speculation I keep reading on other boards. On one hand, yes, I agree that apple was a sign of something and not just a breath freshener, and Rick's arrogant "The world is ours and we know how to take it" crap was not a good sign. But, maybe the apple was just a breath freshener and the bad sign is simply that they are going from peaceful bedroom cuddling to outright war. And Rick needed to be arrogant at the start of "East" in order for his vulnerability and fear to have the greatest impact at the end of the episode when he was with Abe. And killing Michonne now would make her journey all about Rick, I think. She's more to this story than a plot device to increase Rick's misery. Plus, there's still much to learn about her. Rick doesn't even know she had a son, and Michonne doesn't know that Judith may be Shane's. I'm not sure the show plans to go into any of that, but there's still a lot of angst to be had with these two. I believe Morgan and Carol are safe now. Mainly because the spoilers indicate they end up somewhere else together. Some say they end up at The Kingdom. I don't know much about this, but if The Kingdom/Ezekiel are being introduced in 7B, it makes sense Morgan and Carol will stick around to introduce this new group. I also think Morgan is the most likely to take over for Rick if AL decides to leave the show. I say that as someone who has no idea what Morgan's journey is in the comics, or whether he's still alive... So speculation I've been reading on reddit is that two major characters will be "Lucilled" and only one will die. They say we will see one victim, but not the other, and that will be the cliffhanger. Who knows where this comes from, but it could happen and makes more sense to me than having a full blown cliffhanger. It would mean we end the season believing/knowing one character is dead and not knowing the fate of another character. ::shudder::

I just checked and it looks like Suits was renewed. I also thought the writers were leaning toward pairing Michonne with Daryl. In season 3 and 4, Daryl checks her out almost as much as Rick. Now I just think it was the actors trying to show the viewers that Michonne was attractive to the men in the group. I was all for a Daryl/Carol pairing until I read the stuff about how crazy their fans got and that possibly the actors requested the pairing not happen. So now I wouldn't mind seeing them with other people. I'm not a Morgan fan, but I feel Carol has chemistry with him and that could be interesting. I'd hate to see Daryl with Rosita and wouldn't mind seeing him with someone new. Maybe there's a fascinating Savior wife needing to be rescued or something as weird/challenging as that? I get the sense Daryl needs a romantic story line that will challenge him and the viewers. I'm curious about the Rosita love. I don't like her at all, and then I read on a message board that the actress, allegedly, isn't nice in person, so that just made me dislike Rosita even more. Her recent appearance on Talking Dead didn't help much, though I was leaning more toward "Maybe she just lost her job" vibes.

I don't know if it was here, or a different site, but someone said Beth Kinney had also been listed as a cast member for 6.16 and that was their proof the death would be Daryl. Again, people pointed out IMDB is not a good source for stuff like this. After last night's episode, it's clear the writers are opening up the possibility for anyone to be Negan's victim. I thought the Glenn and Maggie anvils were very strong and wonder if that means they are safe. I won't be surprised if Maggie loses her baby, though. The bruises on her back were pretty bad. But it was Maggie's overall sadness that made her life/Glenn's life/their baby life seem in danger. I also have a strong feeling we'll lose more than one person next week. I think we'll lose someone like Rosita, Aaron, Abe or Sasha first. And then one of the main people.

I loved this scene, but thank you for explaining the "any second now" comment. I had to rewind several times and still couldn't make out what he said. This makes me love the scene even more. And, yes, AL and MC did excellent work here. This scene was as satisfying to me (as a Richonne shipper) as the earlier scene with Rick and Michonne in bed. It's funny because I don't really like Abe, but a couple of weeks ago I started rethinking my indifference about him. Not because of his feelings for Sasha, but because he strikes me as someone Rick can really count on. I now wish I remembered what he did that made me start thinking that, but it was something like the "any second now" scene. What was the significance of Rick telling Morgan about the protein bar? The happy, positive Richonne shipper in me read the scene as Rick believing Morgan will not return to Alexandria and wanting to clear things up between the man who saved his life in season 1, and the woman he believes he will spend the rest of his life with. Still, it seemed out-of-the-blue because the original scene (when Morgan asks if Michonne took his peanut butter bar) was so funny. This moment was so sad.
