I just realized there is no mention of Quentin in the promo anywhere. I find that sad.

Felicity is setting up a superhero network/headquarters in S5B providing information, etc. It would explain all the masks in S5A. She can send others out in groups when Oliver's mayoral duties require him to be elsewhere. He can become an effective mayor and superhero with a little help from his friends. This could be considered "really, really key" to Oliver becoming his best self. As they keep stressing, this is Oliver's story. Ha!

I think JB said we wouldn't see him on Arrow until after the holidays. Not sure if it was at HVFF SJ or another con. I know Mericle said in one of her many SDCC videos that Arrow needed him for the end of the season. She wasn't sure when he was being used in the other shows.

Do we know for a fact that this is about DA or have we just assumed?

Does Flash using her likeness to market DVDs qualify as an appearance across all 3 shows?

I say this tongue-in-cheek... Maybe Felicity is pregnant? Flashpoint boyfriend. SA joking about Russian vodka and "mistakes" being made off-screen. SA saying the show needs kids. Mericle is saying Felicity will be most affected by Flashpoint. Everyone else saying Diggle. Mericle also says Felicity will carry something from Flashpoint through the end of the season. In May sweeps we discover who baby daddy really is. (Barry Ha! or Oliver) Would solve the problem of surprise twist at end of 5.01 and dealing with Flashpoint at end of season. Remember Lyla gave birth before she and Diggle remarried. The EPs love their parallels. (I am only okay putting this out in the universe because 5.01 is done! Hopefully 2+2=5.) Keep in mind I am wrong 99.99% of the time. :-)

Arrow probably fits the bill too but didn't they happen about the same time Berlanti was talking about offering episodes of LOT to women with no takers?

The 2 truths could be flashpoint related.

The reason for all the new vigilantes is that the city is a mess on all fronts. Oliver can't devote more time to being mayor if he is the only vigilante in town. He has to learn to accept help. I will be shocked if by the end of season 5 we are not seeing Oliver being effective as both Green Arrow and Mayor Queen. I don't expect Thea as chief-of-staff to be anymore based in reality than lawyer Laurel was. It will be whatever the plot needs it to be. She may just be a quick learner. Quentin might also be of assistance to her (at the beginning of S4 he was dealing with council members). I am curious now though if she will ever decide to become Speedy again. I know she puts on the costume in 5.01 or 5.02 but if she becomes effective as chief-of-staff she may decide she is happier helping the city in that manner. The upside being the city can still operate effectively when Oliver gets called away to be Green Arrow because Thea has things under control. It seems to me they are setting Oliver up to be a real leader under both personas thus completing his five year origin journey. Anyone else's story will be secondary (and probably underdeveloped).

I saw elsewhere (I can't link) that it was a promo for the gym. Don't know if KC, EBR & EK were paid or pro bono. Maybe boyfriend tossed some work KC's way as she did most of the talking.

CH was one of the faces for Abercrombie for a period of time while on Arrow. Maybe it paid well. Also since net worth = assets-liabilities he might have just invested his money well. Same with MB.

Okay. Never considered that. Moving on discussion in 5.01 could definitely be a difficult moment. It would also make sense in terms of all WM's repeated ambiguous mentions.

Ha! I assumed Felicity was already dating him in 5.01 and we were going to see her with him on a date, or kissing him goodnight, or worse to establish he was her boyfriend and not just a date. MG's "difficult moment" for Olicity fans. Especially since Felicity dating is probably more about Oliver doing something (moving on or making an effort to repair their relationship) than it is about Felicity. I really need to stop thinking about this.

Didn't they say Vigilante shows up in 5.07? If so are we thinking Adrian Chase is both Vigilante and Prometheus? Wouldn't it make more sense for someone else to be Prometheus? The reporters might be as confused as me. :-) MG said in the IGN interview that Oliver & Felicity had talked during hiatus like most mature couples would, WM said in the Collider interview they talked about working together but didn't get as far as the question of dating. Toes were going to be stepped on. Are the EPs confused too or is this what they are clarifying in 5.05 even though Felicity is dating in 5.01 (unless BF is FP related)? If toes are stepped on it doesn't seem like the boyfriend is FP related. If it is what is clarified either she & BF break/broke up and they agree to try again or he attempts to move on soon after even if it's not in 5.05.

Thanks. I thought James was supposed to be an adversary while the DA was supposed to be an ally. LOL! I am having a harder time keeping the actors/roles all straight this season. I guess because there are so many of them.

Joe Dinicol is the Jewish character. Dolph Lundgren is Kovar. Do we know who is playing James/Prometheus? Did I miss it? Could he be the stunt casting in the blind item someone posted earlier if it pertains to Arrow? I am so confused! :-) Would Brett Dalton qualify as stunt casting because of playing a Marvel character? IIRC, someone said David Rappaport started following him on twitter about the same time he started following Cody Rhodes. Some were waiting to see if an announcement for the Berlantiverse was forthcoming but I haven't read anything.

I really wish they would quit acting like Felicity killed people. She diverted a nuke someone else launched because she couldn't stop it. I guess she should of just stood by and let it land on millions. I understand her feeling guilty. I just hate the narrative that she killed thousands. People were going to die one way or another. IIRC, Ragman is the one who recently suffered a tragedy. EBR said something in an interview about how would Felicity feel if she came face to face with someone from Havenrock. Ragman might be around for several episodes partially to advance Felicity's feelings of guilt. I too thought he was a one and done.

It sounds like it's headed that way for the 2 females on Arrow in S5. Felicity as quirky cheerleader in the lair. Thea as support in mayor's office. They both sound ripe for DID roles too. I guess Diggle is B story. Hey Quentin, lets revert you to S1 struggles again. Other than Quentin working in the mayor's office that IGN article really had no new information in it. It just reiterates that Arrow is time travelling back to S1 and regressing characters too. I hated the way Flash wrote Felicity in 1x17. I don't think I have ever experienced 2nd hand embarrassment before but I certainly did with Felicity and Ray. So is she going to be behaving that way with Oliver or the new boyfriend?! I loved S1 Felicity but she's come so far. I hate that they are going to write her that way again if jbuffyangel is correct.

No clue who the boyfriend is and I didn't know what role Ryan Williams was playing. I didn't check IMBD. I was more amused by the idea that Poppy's RL husband was being speculated elsewhere to be Felicity's boyfriend. The only new cop I knew of was Detective Malone. I actually hate the idea of Felicity dating a cop because of her vigilante job. Whoever she dates she would be living a lie with but if they find out it's twice as much drama especially if cops aren't on the side of vigilantes. I am hoping BF is Flashpoint related only. There do seem to be 2 opposing narratives in Mericle's interview answers. Burying herself in her work seems more in line with the Felicity Smoak I have seen. I am thinking the BF isn't Barry because of the Iris stuff in Flash 3.03.

Got it. When Felicity opposes Oliver she is always going to be in the wrong to some viewers. I can see that happening because it always happens.

Re: Tyler Ritter. He's there to clean up the streets of Star City along with Lt Pike. We haven't heard anything about Pike either although somewhere there was a mention of corruption in the police department. He could be the boyfriend or he could just be a detective. Lots of street crime means lots of police activity. We know Lance isn't being reinstated but we don't have any real details on him either. We haven't seen the fight so how can we assume Felicity comes off as a bitter-ex because she has a boyfriend? Oliver has 2 jobs, crime is rampant. Sometimes you need help and you can't just wait for the original team to show up. Especially when one is in the Army and stationed overseas.
