Well...I guess the author forgot that he was on the boat escaping Laurel and her pressure to take the relationship to another level. If not for her he might never have had the opportunity to become a killer.

I wasn't until a couple of posters said the same thing. Since she's a regular on another show I guess it's a possibility. That said, she and Argus are usually more of a factor towards the end of a season so I don't think shooting from that standpoint is a major factor. I know after 5.11 originally aired there was spec about Dinah's partner/lover not really being dead. Jokes about coming back as a zombie. Maybe we should throw him into the spec of who is Vigilante. There was a bit of focus on her by him in 5.15.

How about this. In the EW interview Stephen didn't equivocate when asked if they could be a couple again. He said yes. Something about mending fences. It's tv. No trying to sell he's with the reporter now but never say never.

We were told at SDCC that Oliver's true love is Star City. We were also told that the reporter represents the city. He was appointed mayor originally after his inspirational speech about the city, then elected later. Susan pursued him until 5.12. Now look at Susan's behavior in 5.14-5.15 alone. When things aren't going her way she's anti-Oliver but the moment he gets her problems resolved she's all about him and his secret. He was being impeached. Reporter thought he deserved it.The City is fickle. Sometimes he's seen as a villain. Sometimes he's a hero. The city is "good" and worth saving. It's just never going to be an unconditional kind of love. We have hints that she may betray him again to Prometheus. This whole post may sound dumb but she makes more sense to me as a metaphor for the city than as a real love interest. LOL

Post-coital chat might be this shouldn't have happened. It won't happen again, etc. Sorry. He knew she loved him. She told him so when they broke up. She was still attracted to him. She stayed when everyone else left. He probably figured he'd just give her time and she'd come around. She on the other hand gets on with living. See 3.02, 4.15-4.16. Assuming they are stuck in the bunker alone it might be a good opportunity to have an adult conversation and mend fences. They can't move forward until that happens. Since both of them have attempted relationships with another they also might just realize how important theirs is to them.

I think the only reason for flashback sex is to move the present day story forward. Pivot towards a rebuild most of which will happen during hiatus. It doesn't make sense to do something like that if you are just giving closure.

MM was tweeting about JH when 18 was shooting. I know it's IMDB but her stunt double is listed for 5.17. Maybe she shows up at the end of 5.17 and it carries over into 5.18?

I think in the last episode of the series Felicity should tell Oliver she's pregnant. Then they can flash forward to them with a baby, twins, triplets, quads, whatever but I don't really care about babies in this type of show.

SA implied that Oliver might have never heard Talia's last name which is why he never mentioned it to Nyssa or Ra's. Does this mean he realizes she's an Al Ghul only in 5.16? Might explain his facial expression in the promo pics for that episode.

Sorry. I did know what you were saying although my answer doesn't reflect it. Just these 2 writers make me nervous. I only think a love scene occurs to move the story forward. I am expecting a reunion 520-523. I'm just not a fan of sex first, we'll work out our problems later. We do have 4 episodes in between so I'm willing to wait and see. The vodka part was my reasoning another conclusion for SA's remark at SDCC in relation to where we find them in 5.01.

These are the same writers that wrote the Laurel/Oliver flashback in 4.19 so anything is possible. There was vodka and mistakes were made. Maybe they almost went there so when SCPD cop asked her out she jumped. Billy = barrier for her. Meanwhile he's still hopeful she'll change her mind because she almost gave in?

I am good with either flashback or present day. If flashback, I need it to translate to some forward movement in present day. A flashback MIGHT provide us with a Felicity POV for S5 which is what I would really like. Unless SA was just playing around with the S4 suit we do appear to be getting some sort of recent flashback.

I haven't checked schedule but my guess would be March Madness (college basketball).

I am going to go with flashback love/sex scene. From the end of S4 to 5.02 it was just Oliver & Felicity in the bunker. UST is running high because they are alone working together all the time. Maybe some Russian vodka and mistakes are made (paraphrasing SA). Oliver would be fine the next day but Felicity is probably running scared. Tells him a mistake was made. It's not happening again. So she looks for a life outside the bunker. Meets Billy somewhere (coffee shop?) and jumps into a relationship. Sort of like how Oliver got involved with Susan because it was easy. She was pursuing him. Felicity couldn't say what she had with Billy was real. She could barely call him her boyfriend in 5.09. If one of the main reasons for getting involved with Billy was so she didn't have to deal with her feelings about Oliver, wouldn't she feel guilty about his death? I thought WM said she was still mourning Billy in 5.20 which makes sense in this context to me. Another poster said WM said it was done by 5.20; another said before. I can't find the article I read so I don't know anymore. Felicity acknowledging that she's not over Oliver and doesn't want to be is a major step in a reconciliation process. Billy represented a physical barrier even when Oliver didn't know about him. In 5A the physical distance between Oliver and Felicity was noticeable. Since Billy's been gone so is some of O&F's distance. In 5.11 there is a small hand touch. In 5.12 she runs into his arms when the bomb goes off. In 5.14 when he gets in her face about the laptop she (almost) touches him briefly like she would have when they were together. After he makes her feel awkward in 5.15 she still tells him he's a hero. Flashback sex has it's pluses. Sex in the bunker without fear of interruption. A kiss while he's in the Arrow suit. Twitter has been asking for those for a while. It could happen in the present too but I think less likely to be in the bunker. I think it's possible Felicity does join Helix to save Oliver. It was set up in 5.15. She followed Diggle's advice and told Oliver what she provided Thea with so he stopped that scheme. Joining Helix happened because her friend (Oliver) almost died. He didn't because he had a team. A team to back you up is a good thing. Sounds like Felicity is willing to get burned if it means she can protect Oliver.

I thought the same thing but then it seemed like the only thing Felicity carried was the knowledge that Connor used to be Sara and that was wrapped up in 5.08. So I don't know anymore.

Sure, he could totally be doing both. Film ANJ in LA in the morning and fly back to Vancouver and film Olicity sex that night, or today, tomorrow, even next week. I was actually referring to not eating a good sandwich until after the 9th is probably more because of training for ANJ not a sex scene. I'm not disputing a sex scene occurring. I should have been clearer. :-)

Is SA filming the 8/9? According to a poster in social media/behind the scenes Los Angeles qualifiers/finals for American Ninja Warrior are the 8th/9th. Don't want to burst any bubbles but based on workouts and some of his SM postings that's why he probably can't have a good sandwich until the 10th.
