  1. Yes, I didn't understand this at all. I thought of Pray as her BFF, a surrogate uncle to her family, and a brother/sister vibe from interactions with Elektra. Even the ending reinforced that he was the mentor to Blanca. What a strange scene. I did love "My Love Is Your Love" playing at the end. It was touching. I do not believe that Angel and Blanca did not keep in touch every single day between 1996 and 1998. I could see how perhaps Lulu faded away from the bunch and maybe Elektra did not keep close contact with Angel, but I cannot see Angel getting through motherhood without Blanca guiding her way. I also can't believe Blanca wouldn't be carrying Pray's locket with her every day. I am so disappointed at how little thought was put in to this season. Pose deserved better.
  2. Yeah, Seeing Pray restored to full health bothered me too. At the very least, the cocktail can’t cure glaucoma so seeing him with 2 functioning eyes after the big deal about him losing his vision bugged. I was underwhelmed by the ball performance as well. The Diana Ross song felt like a rehash. 1998 Angel was simply gorgeous from head to toe at that lunch. That was Indya’s color. It was so bloated and meh but I’ll still miss this show anyway.
  3. He also played a detective in Dexter as well.
  4. So now I'm supposed to believe Cubby meant more to Papi than Damon? Yeah, actor availability and all that, but it would have been nice to include a phone call from Damon to both Angel and Papi. So we are still in full-on fantasy I guess. The wedding was beautiful though. I couldn't help but notice that every single guest looked like they could pass easily as a cis female. I am so disappointed that this show never dared to show someone that might actually get clocked in the real world. The only part of the episode that truly tugged at my heart was Blanca working on Pray's quilt and Pray talking about leaving behind a legacy. So many bold and beautiful souls were unnecessarily lost in that era. It was such a damn shame. I can't believe next week is the end. I will miss Blanca and even Pray Tell's sometimes annoying self so much. Sigh.
  5. It's just so hard to believe that Elektra, who came up in NYC in the '70s and '80s (and probably "serviced" many a mob guy on those piers), would even entertain the idea of going in business with the mob....especially when she knows the cops are cracking down on illegal activities now. It just bothers me every time I think about this episode because Elektra has never been a stupid woman. She has been around long enough to KNOW that isn't going to turn out well for her. I really hate how RM shows tend to crash and burn after starting out so freaking on point and wonderful. Ugh.
  6. Please get back on topic, which is actors, hosts, and tv personalities you can't stand. NOT new channels or media.
  7. Yeah, just like I am supposed to believe healthy looking and plump in the right places Lulu is in the throes of a crack addiction. 😒
  8. This episode went way too far into fantasy land for my tastes. It's feast or famine with this show---either everyone is suffering or they are getting unrealistic opportunities. I wish I lived in Pose's version of 1994. I was thinking the timeline for Papi's son was a little funny, but then I remembered Season 1 ended in 1988 and Season 2 picked up in 1990 so I guess he was supposed to be born in between seasons. Okay. Such soapiness.

  10. Maybe he means that if he was accepted by his family/community, he would have never ended up in NYC which was the epicenter of the virus at that time. He probably thinks he and Vernon would have been able to be out and long term partners if the church wasn’t so judgmental. I think Pittsburgh and even Vernon would have gotten too small for Pray eventually, but we all like to think we could have prevented things if we took another route.
  11. If Pray Tell has become hardened to the funerals, I can just imagine the doctor’s burnout from having to tell people they are going to die day after day, for about 10 years at that point. I didn’t take Blanca and the nurse’s reaction of “Screw that guy” literally. I figured they were mad and frustrated at the news and it was their way of commiserating with Pray. I feel like their reaction would have been the same no matter how he said it.
  12. What was even the point of Vernon? Everyone, including Pray, knew he wasn't going to give up his life and Pray said as much. He could've saved all that hot air. I loved the rest of the episode though, and I'm glad he made peace with who he needed to. I loved Billy Porter and Ledisi throwing down in that church! Just beautiful. That being said, I'm good with this being Pray's swan song also. I just don't see what further can be done with the character--I don't need to or care to see him lying on his deathbed.
  13. I love that Paulina is letting herself age naturally. She’s 56 and looks it, but still looks gorgeous. Not too many former models have the balls to do that. I also love that she clearly does not date based on looks. She’s one celebrity that I actually would believe to be down to earth.
  14. I’d say she’s a 80s pop culture icon, because a lot of people think of her automatically when they think of or hear Whitesnake. Most famous for being a video vixen, sure. But there’s nothing wrong with that.
  15. Seriously. She should know better at 50. Use him for some rebound sex a few times and move on. Never make it an official relationship.
  16. The best part of this episode for me was that immediately after showing footage of the car chase, the first commercial that aired was a local car dealership advertising a new 2021 white Ford Bronco, which made me smirk. The episode was just trash. All that time spent rehashing the OJ stuff could have been used to fill us in on what’s been going on the last few years. I lived through ‘94, I remember the pop culture moment the chase was vividly, but RM already covered the case more than enough. I didn’t need it eating up half of the premiere.
  17. Awful. Just awful. How wonderful for Damon to go from successful backup dancer and house father to an alcoholic with no explanation whatsoever. What an awful way to write off the character. We also get no explanation how Blanca went from a wheelchair-bound terminal AIDs patient to a healthy, happy nurse's aide banging a hot doctor. In a show that is realistically depicting the '90s AIDS pandemic, would it hurt to drop a line or two of what treatment worked for her? It's pretty glaring. Some of the scenes seemed designed to be Billy Porter's Emmy Showcase. His acting and dialogue really was over-the-top in this episode. I did love the scene of Blanca and Pray driving to the rehab with Mariah playing in the background. The music choices are so good on this show. I'll continue to watch since it's the last season, but meh. I still live for Elektra. She got me through the past two episodes.
  18. Damn. 57 is too young. They really never got enough credit for birthing '90s hip hop via discovering 2Pac. RIP Shock G.

  24. Vi's "Your father would be ashamed of you" just irked my soul. I hate when people used the memory of deceased folks to manipulate other people's feelings. There is no way that RA's father would feel anything but extremely proud of Blue getting into this school. I think he would join RA and Hollywood in telling Vi she needs to have several seats. I get that she raised Blue in his early days when his parents couldn't, but Blue isn't a baby anymore and all she needs to do is sit back and be proud of helping him get this far. Also, a grocery store manager, Vi, really? You really thought that would work, LOL? I don't care about Calvin or Nova, I really don't. Davis owes Charley, that's it. Charley, please don't catch feelings over his being nice for a few days. I'm betting you are right....maybe not his age but definitely a teenager. They can't age up too much because Kofi is only 27 and Bianca's never aging ass (yes, I'm jealous af) still looks 27.
