Not surprised at the outcome of the date auction- you are bidding on the date itself- you don't even have to go with the person involved. Many guys were auctioned off- with many dates going for more than Craig's- it's all about the value of the date package, not the guy. Over 100k was raised by the auction and the event itself (obviously much more than just the dates were auctioned). After expenses (as usual) that's a sizeable donation to WWP.

No. Halston peaked much earlier than Bret Easton Ellis's timeframes. None of his characters would have been caught dead in Halston. In '83 Halston went mass (JC Penney- which bombed spectacularly) and had previously sold the rights to his name, effectively destroying his brand.
