  1. Lauren has a beautiful voice, but she could sure some lessons on her stage presence-she is a little boring as others have said, but that said, I would certainly be able to listen to her on the radio. Love Trisha Yearwood, but for some reason when Lauren sings, I immediately think of Mary Chapin Carpenter, "He Thinks He'll Keep Her."
  2. Disregarding the body type, does Murray's brother remind anyone else of Tim Curry?
  3. Something about the Houston wife didn't sit right with me - wanting to spend so much time on renovations with a very young child. I got the impression that the husband liked the daughter a lot more than his wife did.
  4. I also found Defying Gravity a little ear shattering. I more enjoyed the quieter version the Glee kids did a few years back...
  5. Yes, I was looking too. I didn't see it on the schedule. Maybe not TCM?
  6. I got the same impression as you SailorGirl-the poor child has to ask her mother if its ok to kiss her, lest she ruin her makeup.
  7. Maybe it was just me, but I didn't think the yard with House #3 in Norman, was that small? Does the TV camera distort the size? It was fenced and perfect for a dog. A clean slate they could "make their own."
  8. I kept thinking with the open floor space, he could always put in an island to compensate for the missing counter space. I would have used that worthless corner counter for my small appliances-toaster, coffee maker, etc.
  9. Is it me, or is this the first season, where no one contestant has been deemed to be "the chosen one" right off the bat? For the first time I feel like everyone is on equal footing. And please, if Gwen could just lay off the "I'm a girl, you're a girl" thing...
  10. Right there with you - Shay is awful, dresses terribly for someone who claims to be a fashionista, and if the other consultants have a dress code, why doesn't he? Sexist much? And the crying with elopement bride? Give me a break. If I were Randy I would ignore him at all costs, until he came begging. Didn't care for sisters' look in the Barbie mom segment, but I got the impression they did it more to piss mom off than anything. They all looked at her with such disdain. I'm no Paris Hilton fan, but what an insult to her, that lady in pink was referred to as that. That's the bride that should have eloped. I would hate having my mom at my wedding if that's the way she acted. And Grandma? Dear God! Randy's mom was adorable, but I felt uncomfortable watching her go up to brides and announcing her birthday/age. If she had a comment about the bride's dress or questions about their weddings, that's fine, but they weren't there to make her day.
  11. I always thought the idea behind the Mason Jar salads, was that you could prep several and they would keep fresh for a couple days, but the idea when it came time to eating, was that you emptied it onto a plate, hence the order you put the ingredients in the jar, with the dressing on the bottom, so it ends up on the top when you dump. I cannot even imagine there being enough room in that jar to shake it up, let alone finding a long enough fork to eat it with! I think I saw a plastic fork in Paige's hand - not sure how it got there. The magic of television?
  12. So three shows in and here are my two thoughts - 1. Too much chit-chat when trying to have a singer choose them. Can't they just give them one very compelling reason why they should be picked as a coach, and then move on? So much wasted time could be spent on more contestants. And 2. So far this season, none of the chosen contestants have annoyed me. Usually by this time, I am so over a number of these people and their back stories and entitled attitudes, or just their personality, and those people just seem to keep moving on. So far I am not rooting against anyone. What gives?
  13. OMG, right? I have lived in towns all my life, in a half double, close to neighbors. Never once did I find myself looking into my neighbors' windows, despite the proximity. I could barely see the houses he was talking about let alone the windows!
  14. I swore I was not going to watch this season, and I got sucked in anyway. I sooooo did not miss Gwen. Same old shtick-"I started singing young, so I know what that's like," "I was in a band with boys, so I know what that's like," "I can help you with fashion, etc, because I know what that's like," And seriously, Blake and Gwen-get a damn room will ya? Thank goodness for TiVo and the ability to watch 2 hours in about half the time. Fast forward for the win. And is it me, or was no one really spectacular. Maybe my ears are going, but while I thought contestant #1 was good, I didn't really get the heaps of praise bestowed upon him, as the 2nd coming of Marvin Gaye...
  15. Newport Beach/Costa Mesa - loved the house they picked, I would have done the same. But, his hangup about the garage not being attached to the house? You're in California, man-it's not like you're going to be going in and out in freezing temps and snow! The laundry out there was odd, but not impossible. And how come the location of the Spanish style house was just too noisy, but when the noise was mentioned at the one "with a view" it didn't seem to matter? Also, maybe its just because its on TV and you can't really really get a great look, but the view didn't really impress me. She was certainly ready to settle though.
  16. Ok, first time poster here-I am usually happy just reading everyone else's comments, but I couldn't take it anymore. Bangor Maine "Stay at home pet mom?" "Screened in porch for the cat?" I'm glad that wasn't a drinking game. Would like to go back and watch this episode and the international woman who wanted the "walk in closet," and see who said it more. And seriously? You stay home all day and find the need to be in the bathroom at the same time as hubby? In my whole life I have never lived in a house with more than one bathroom, and somehow we manage-even with everyone getting ready in the morning.
