  1. There is no problem being happy about a good king winning in a pre Enlightenment society like in Game of Thrones. Without the Enlightenment it is unlikely for anyone to even consider having a democracy over the size of a city state as a good thing. So with democracy not being an option a good king is the only option. In Lord of the Rings there is no democratic government in history and especially in earlier periods actual gods to ask questions of, Gandolf's real form is of a minor god given a mortal shell, the elf had a Kings so in that story their really is a divine right of kings, in real history after the horrible failure of democracy in Athens against Sparta in war democracy had a black eye finished off by corruption in Rome's republic so that even peasant revolts only tried to remove a corrupt nobel or official in the government not replace the king. The US founders actually believed that all governments gain the right to govern from the will of the people so a monarch that had the support of the people was fine. The founders just preferred democracy because good kings die and get replaced by bad rulers that lose the will of the people. I sometime toy with the idea I might as well become a monarchist as due to the competition from democracy the actual royal line of Europe and many Moslem monarchies take advantage of the fact a monarch is for life and can get way more done than a democracy. The kings of Jordan and Morocco both died with popularity ratings in the 80's something democracies can't do. I'm still not switched over as the replacement problem still looms. Christianity, known by theologians sometimes not by believers, believes that this world is just an illusion not real compared to heaven, a concept that other religions have. And with no reincarnation you only get one test in what conceptional is a life simulator. So any evil you do is cleared on death, victims having no horrible memory of the events, they might remember but just as a non bothering fact like losing a game. So there is no evil karma or left over from the illusionary world in the real world after death. Catholics were iffy on this so came up with purgatory to pay off your sins sort of after world pay for your sins sort of like Hindu and other karma faiths. Purgatory can be avoid though so go back the illusionary nature of life to explain the get out of jail card. This is relevant here as the 7 gods clearly a one life type religion so have the same nothing really counts if you ask for forgiveness in life. The considered a masterpiece by anime critics, politicians in Japan like to quote it on nature of democracy, Legends of the Galactic Hero's shows the quandary of what is better a The Great level king on one side who is clearly the better leader for the common man or a corrupt democracy that is oppressive. Note legends has few women with power and very few black or asian characters (no Japanese and this is a Japanese anime) there is a horrible historical point being made you learn.
  2. Well he was dead might need to be alive to activate fire proofing. And from the situation I take this fire resistance as a family genetic trait that not all have and must come from the will of the Targ.
  3. Hum see a lot of applying Enlightenment principles to a pre Enlightenment world. I try to judge people by the moral standards of their time not ours. Second even post enlightenment I refuse to use the black and white logic that makes Danny and Ramsey the same that seams to being argued here. This is not a police officer situation. This is the military options a ruler has to take situation. This is why war is always evil to some extent. Under the laws of war innocence or guilt is never the question, the question is the target a legitimate target or not. Pre enlightenment a legitimate target is a member of a group that some members of have attacked you. This is one reason why thousands of common folk uprising always failed. Urban gorilla action was always ended sooner or later by killing them all. Rural actions were ended by poisoning all the water supplies, killing all the game, and burning all the crops, like how Sherman and Sheridan took out the Apache and other indians who evaded and raided US troops for decades. By the way Lincoln suspended civil rights, made mass arrests, helped one governor become the dictator of his state for the duration of the war to keep it in the Union, and had generals like Sherman destroy everything in large areas to win, I think winning justified it as Lincoln worked very hard to pass an amendment to end slavery after winning the war. In pre enlightenment times war actions went farther a ruler did what was necessary to win and if they did not this showed they were weak to all. No you did not need to rape and pillage the country side, that a bad tactic if you don't intend to kill them all, but if you can't figure out the guilty from the innocent back then you would have to kill them all. By the way torture works, the problem is you end up torturing and killing a lot of innocents in the process and the information is normally only good if you can immediately raid the target. Torture was part of tools the Mussolini used to totally wipe out the Mafia until the US let the few imprisoned survivors out. So torture works as long as your willing to be a despot as well (best to only confine to your country as well when your willing to kill them all if lessor measures fail). Also rullers even now sometimes have drop into necessary evils to protect their countries, these I judge by motivation and alternatives. In a pre enlightenment society the right of a ruler to do almost anything is often considered absolute. And any ruler who tried to use modern justice standards against their enemies will lose as no one will respect them. In example Peter the Great tried to address injustices and treat the inhabitants of a rebelling town justly, this show of weakness caused the town to kill all of Peters representatives. Peter then had the army kill everyone in the area no attempt to determine guilt and hanged them the slow way on rafts that he then sent down river to reminded everyone mess with the Emperor he will end it. Peter did use torture to obtain information even used the tongs and applied the hot coals him self, not because he enjoyed it just as an example he would do anything he asked others to do. But Peter was wonderful over all for Russia taking a backward country and making it a modern world power and improving the arts and culture. As stated in a GOT promo all rulers are butchers or they are meat. The difference between a good ruler and bad is what they do otherwise. Danny really needs to make clear she will kill all the slaver families even the children if this continues and probably is best off if she just does it no discussion. I'll draw on Machiavelli here you either treat conquered people as same as your citizens or you wipe them out. In this case if you want to free the slaves you then can't give the slavers what they want slaves so the slavers must be eliminated if you want your rule to be sure. Machiavelli is not evil or good, he is grey, he just points out what works which is rather be totally good or totally evil on things, no half measures. And pre enlightenment Machiavelli is right a ruler first duty is to rule and can not be anything else if they lose so must do what history shows works. A necessary evil is still evil and a ruler should always take them reluctantly and feel guilty afterwards. I will judge Danny a Great and good ruler if she advances rights over all and improves dramatically the areas she controls even if she has to make a lot of omelets just like all the other Greats. I will judge any ruler in Game of thrones bad if they don't maintain rule or don't act to improve things over all. To follow some nobel principle and lose when not following it would let you win and actually do something like end slavery I consider the greater evil. You don't rase Armies and win in a world like this without having a huge Ego, being sure of your destiny, and being willing to do what is necessary to win. The common people of Westros are slaves by modern standards, they just a somewhat better type of slave bound to the land not an owner so they can not be sold on a market. I am sure Danny when she realizes that will free them as well, she will leave the nobles in charge of their areas she just will restrict what they can do to their free people. She might set up the first independent judge system as well, excepting the ruler of course rights of kings and all. The Elite viewers of Anime consider the huge, 3 movies and 162 episode, Legends of the Galactic Hero's the best anime ever, and politicians in the east love to quote it on the nature of democracy. In short legends covers all the arguments and more by having a corrupt democracy think the worst of the US and other democracies fighting against a corrupt empire until a man a mixture of Fredric the Great, Napoleon and other greats takes total power overthrowing the old Emperor. This new emperor although feely admitting he had no right to take over provides to make the Empire a free from corruption rule of law country lifting the oppression of the common man vastly improving education and the economy and clearly by the end it's better for the average man to be ruled by him then the democracy, His chief foe totally a just man with no ambition but brilliant commander has total obedience to democracy no mater how poor it is even though clearly the troops, and most of the population would make him ruler if he just would agree to do it. The anime gives no clear answers and there is no bad guy in the eventual main leaders so it makes you think.
  4. Cerisi could have asked her brother Tyrion with all his book learning how to deal with prophecy. I'm sure he would tell her prophecy often works by what ever you do to avoid them you make them come true. But like all the other good advice he could give her she rejected him because she hated him as the dwarf that killed her mother. Of course depends on what type of prophecy Westros has, the type that can be avoided or the Norse type that is locked in on rails and cannot be avoided as you will find your self compelled to act your part in the play. I wondered for a short bit why Littefinger left Sansa to return to Kings Landing where it could be dangerous for him. Then I remembered who controlled the Gold Cloaks in season one, I'm sure as master of coin he made sure they got paid on time and gave them all perks from time to time. Plus most of the Lanister army has now been removed by Cerise's stupidity and returned to Casterly Rock with Uncle. I'm fairly sure with the gold cloaks the Tyrell's have the most trained forces in Kings Landing now. With two actual smart players like the Queen of Thorns and Littlefinger Cersi is doomed. I'll put more detail in Sansa's thread on Littlefinger leaving her in Winterfield but this actually works for him if he wants her latter. Littlefigners talk with Cerise reminded me of his with Ned season one, Littlefinger is actually giving good advice that if ignored will result in him being the one who lowers the axe. With Littlefinger I'm sure most of his plans are heads he wins, tails you lose.
  5. Skinny people were the norm for most of history so a rare one on the show does not bother me much especially as she comes from a working class family. Reminds me of a around 1900 picture of a family reunion 40 plus people not one over weight. Only could tell by the faces for all the clothes but many seamed thin in the face not unusual for photo's that old. Hard work for both sexes every day helped by the Cholera diet, Malaria diet (DDT pesticide on the mosquitoes whiped it out along with lots of birds in the US), Dysentery diet and so on. Oh and 5% of the population are naturally underweight and have to deal with everyone picking on them. Very tense episode for Sansa on pins and needles the whole time. I though Psycho Hobbit asking for a hand was going to cut a finger off. I almost expected Psycho Hobbit to offer to let his girlfriend help him deflower and torment Sansa. Loved the dragon overflight just wish we had a few moments to reflect and have Tyron's reaction before grey scale invasion.
  6. I don't see how you decide to make Skye Quake without plans to put her in the next Advengers movie minimum with hopes she catches on and gets her own movie. Quake is way to powerful superhero to ignore if they want to balance out the male female ratio a bit in the Advengers and the MCU movies and why put a Advengers member on SHIELD then not use them. Also they don't have a superpower Aslan in the main MCU movie verse. Same except asian for Mockingbird I expect to see both on the big screen. Time line though Advengers 2 was already mostly planed out before these decisions to bring Mockingbird and Quake into SHIELD plus both Bobbie and Skye are really busy in the time line and Quake has not had time to learn her powers and loyalties to settle in. I still think there a chance that Coulson, Mockingbird and Quake to all show up in additional content for the Advengers 2 disk sales. If they did not want Skye to be in the movie MCU they would have made her a lessor or even made new Marvel hero. And no need for Bobbie to be Mockingbird to be a kick ass agent could have gave her a non Advengers cool nickname. Now that serious talk of a SHEILD spin off is out there I expect that Marvil will tend to put more Agents of Shield into the movie verse as they are clearly locked into SHEILD being a long term thing. Sort of following the comics model you don't have to read the other book when it is hinted in the main story your following to enjoy the story. But if your a major fan you will have to have it all. Did not realize this was the good place to vent my double face palm level of gods that's stupid with Advengers 2 having the worlds heavy eliminated nuclear weapons as a threat to wipe out the planet when the nuclear launch codes are actually written on paper so "sort of hard to hack". So I put it in the episode thread wonder if I should edit out there. There has never been anywhere close to enough explosive power to kill the worlds population or even all of the US population for that matter the claim this was possible was based on very bad math. Nuclear winter claims for the top of cold wars are even doubtful considering the power of the The Great Tambora Eruption 1815 at least half maybe more than all of the worlds nuclear weapons in size only caused the Year without a Summer. I never have understood the need to stretch for all the people in the world when 100's of millions dead is bad enough to act. Worse in the movie the nuclear arsenals have never been on a networked system and require several people all acting at once to launch, two in the silo and two in the control center minimum for silo launches once the codes are sent to them. The system is pre internet and networked computers and for obvious reasons has been kept that way. The nuclear launch codes are actually kept on paper in the nuclear footballs and in vaults. The codes are imputed at the site of the bomb to get the nuclear trigger to work.
  7. A tense episode put me on edge. Skye has been wanting to find and be part of a family all her life, now she has one and a community she belongs too so I find it normal that she is trying to protect what she just found when talking to May. Unfortunately she did not think it all the way thur and sounded like she was now looking down on her SHELD teammates when I'm sure that's not the case and that she will be conflicted in the extreme between the two sides. In the confrontation with May in previews there is no way that May can do anything to Skye in a situation like that unless Skye holds back a huge amount. Skye has already show the ability to basically send a fairly powerful bomb shockwave powerful enough to deflect bullets in a wide area cone. The only reason Bobbie is not dead or in a hospital still recovering is the Trope in movies and TV that shockwaves don't do that much damage to people who can be knocked back when in reality shockwaves do a a lot of damage to humans. I could see Skye knocking May back as soft as she is able to do, May goes off doubles back and takes Skye by surprise as the way May wins. Side note about Avengers movie tiny spoiler effect lots of words
  8. Yep the gods really know how take their revenge. I already see part of Tyrions drinking as result of the guilt he feels. At the power grab level legal always goes a bit grey. If Danny or Stanis ends up judging the case they either are going to put Tyrion in the rebeling Lanister description and have him executed, (pardoned if they want to use him) and consider the killing of Tywin as infighting in the rebels not worth worrying about. Or Danny or Stanis if they consider Tyrion wronged by his father and only carrying out orders defending Kings Landing they probably will consider him killing Tywin and Shae s targeting legitimate targets. War is evil and killing people in war except for some political use not a justice system. It is normal and within the laws of war to kill members of the enemy leadership, who are legitimate war targets, with guilt or innocent totally not in the equation. In the laws of war the only question is, is the target a legitimate target or not. In the laws of war how good or bad a person is does not apply. Solders are legitimate targets no guilt of crime is needed even if they are your citizens, the only requirement is that they are members of an organization you are at war with.
  9. Wonderful. Also a reminder how part of Games of Thrones success is bringing the "new" concept to fiction for the public by doing a fictional history following the way real history goes. In real history good, bad or ugly you never know who will end up on top and of course there are a lot of people being killed including the ones you like. John had to follow the real family moto "Noble but Stupid" in turing down the Lord of Winterfield position. Danny has to have major ruling flaws, got it together from the start "the Great" like Alexander and Peter might come across to audiences as unbelievable. Of course Aristotle taught Alexander did help. Side historical note Peter the Great and his Enemy Charles XII both were allowed to chouse if, what and how they were educated and it was successful in the most part for both even if not as broad in area they disliked as a normal education. Proves that children actually can actually want to learn and if left to their own devices they can organize a great education assuming the resources are there. Both rulers were hyperactive and almost certainly had ADHD which is an advantage when your king. Want to learn standing up and walking around the room if your king you can. Anything your poor at someone else can do, boring details are the clerks jobs anyway. And thus as king your hyperactive hyper focus only on the things your good at gets full use when that is governing or running an Army. Charles XII was a brilliant general and good politician putting in good reforms until he made the mistake of trying to invade deep into Russia a mistake the Napoleon and Hitler followed.
  10. I can see Disney wanting all hard core fans of the movies around the world to get copy/Netflix equivalent Agents of Shield. Marvel and the comics are all into the tie in books way back when I collected they loved to put pieces of your favorite all over the place to get you to buy more and recent look at book store tells me that has not changed. I love the episode but most good points were covered. I figure Dethlock is fairly well protected from electric shocks as that is a weakness if not. But humans are even easier to take out with a well practiced shock to the heart not much power required. Actually Dethlock might have resisted the electronic take out except he already used up his circuit breakers fighting spark. Skye as Quake would have a good power to take out Ultron or Iron Man seing how not knowing her power at all she took a gun totally apart but this is too early for her to be full powered Quake for the movie. But would not be totally surprised if she and Coulson show up briefly and she takes out some minion with her power. After all now that they have made her Quake who is an Avenger in the comics I'm sure they want to tease her existence after all you don't make her Quake without thinking of a possible Quake movie and at minimum her in a future Avenger movie. But there might not be the room in the script for the extra except maybe a DVD short. I would be thrilled.
  11. Oh on Dragons there probably are counters to them especially as the got smaller over time. The original bigger that Smag in the Hobbit ones that actually reduced people to ash instantly and melted castles would be very hard to get people to try to fight. Imagine tell someone if they fire the ballista they will be able to take down the dragon when they know they will be cremated no mater what happens is hard. The North for all it's fighting spirt and independence mind gave up to dragons. But nuclear weapons are hard to use if you want to occupy some place not just kill them all. I assume the same for Dragons, Dorne probably came up with cleaver ways to hide forces from dragons and hit the occupying troops hard and disappeared. Also that was still a time of magic maybe Dorn has some magic counter to Dragons.
  12. I hate to use Iraq or Afghanistan as examples in some cases as both countries required a force of 500,000 plus to have a good chance at successful occupation. Yes we do have a lot of historical data now to know rough occupation numbers. But here Iraq not a bad example as Danny only has a small force of crack troops and she has two factions that hate each other. Still modern comparisons are rough as the population in a medieval world has different expectations and things modern populations would think are the right thing to do can be thought of as signs of weakness then. You got to have a huge ego and self awareness to be a great leader. Great leaders are a study in huge ego's, the not so great leaders also have big ego just not much more.
  13. Quick skim of wikipedia shows that many countries in particular the German areas had trial by combat in the law. The answer should be out there though the use of champions is mentioned nothing is stated about ties as use of champions seams to be rare and normally those who could lose a trial by combat went to trial by jury. But men did fight women in these sometimes. To the death or disabling was normal. In theory as America has never actually addressed the issue trial by combat and we are considered to adapt English common law trial by combat is still available in US ;) Knowing that in our world the rules of trial by combat made the legal code of many countries I'm fairly sure Westros has a law on it. As Tyrion was to be executed and there was not crowd controversy over it I assume Wetros law is first dead and we still don't know if the Mountan is dead.
  14. With Danny I'm sure Varys and Tyrion will have to sell themselves to her. Varys was (actually probably really is) the master of spiders and Danny's former Kings Guard will know who he is although might not trust him. Both Varys and Tyrion can talk a real good game so I assume they can talk themselves into being her advisors, if they don't then Danny is probably doomed and if they become her advisors Danny is even more the sure bet to be last standing. (Dragons and a Comet for her already has her as final winner, if she adds the Dothraki to the Unsullied getting the successful Ottoman Army combo she is unstoppable even without Dragons) Timetoread said It is an interesting contrast although Jon has had plenty of flack in the past. Ned another stupid on you, not getting your son legitimized by your friend Robert even though Cat would not be happy. I have to view SOME of the Danny dislike as people are still not able to accept female leaders even if the person making the comment thinks they are ok with female leaders. (some in all caps as this sort of comment often gets responses as if I said all) It sort of a higher standard thing Danny has made great moves along with her bad ones, she was the only one who came up with the getting all the Unsullied all by her self. Until a lot of dark skinned leaders in fiction get to rule light skinned areas the imbalance caused in the early days of movies by "white man burden" tales it will always cause discomfort. I would recommend viewing a bit of the old white man burden tales or reading up and you can see that the only similarity with Danny story is skin color, in no way is Danny thinking like or trying to act in the I'm racial superior way that makes up the "white man's burden" colonial way of thinking. Ayra coming back for her revenge as a faceless woman would be cool. People on the death list dying in all sorts of creative ways and no one knows how the killer got in and out. But I assume years of training so don't know how that will work in story. I'm quite sure them three toughs had not really observed killers well, or discounted a girl with the same look, or they would have noticed Ayra's I've killed before and will kill again eyes and smooth battle stance. The toughs might have won but I'm sure at least one would have had needle thrust though them in the process. A Man showing up might have saved their lives more than Ayra's.
  15. Very enjoyable snark or is that raven. Look forward to more.
  16. Danny's goal and vision is becoming a Great Queen and leader no way she giving that up. Danny is missing the education that great advisors can give as I doubt her brother gave her much ruling training. Hopefully her great advice will reach her soon. Letting the former slave owners live is still a bad decision. I could see how many would be upset if Danny had the wisdom to rule without good advice and training. The she's too perfect and unbelievable complaints would be endless. The Mad Kings mistake was not burning real opponents, his madness was burning supporters for no go reason. Sansa has learned to not let anyone see her real opinion on things. No way was Sansa going to let her real opinion of a strange woman knight she has never met show. And this woman knight has only failed so far. Little finger and knights greatly outnumber this stranger Sansa is going to play it safe and seam to want to stay with Littlefinger until she's sure it would be safe to leave. And Sansa might see Littlefinger as her best option to learn how the game is played as well. For the election I assume most of the watch from the other two towers came to vote, maybe with Stanis there they even borrowed his troops to guard so all could be there. They really need to give the free people the lands south of the wall for help holding the wall maybe even open a few of the closed towers.
  17. Peter the Great tried the reasonable approach recommended above on a town that had rejected the government policies in a area he was marching the army though. The town took it as weakness and killed some government men. Peter then took the whole population of the town and hung them from scaffolds mounted on rafts and sent the rafts down river so the entire area could see. That action ended the partial rebellion of the area as clearly the message was if I have to kill everyone I will. Peter learned from that and examples of week actions by other rulers that ruthless massive actions was the only thing that the people of that time feared and respected. Catherine the Great was the same. These are rulers who took no pleasure from these actions just knew that in those times partial fair and just measures were took as weakness not as reasonable actions. Back then gorilla or terrorist actions were attempted sometimes to go effect. Sooner or later the authorities would solve the problem of not knowing who is a member of the enemy and who is an innocent civilian and kill them all. Saddam Husain is an example of how this approach can work in the modern day in his remaining in power despite rebellions against him. Of course you have to have a big enough army and enough loyal followers for the brutal suppression to work otherwise you get Syria, although the government there still might win in the end. As an example of his willingness to do anything a common person would do if he commanded Peter applied the hot coals and used the whip and other torture tools when questioning the members of a later revolt. Peter learned wood working and many common crafts, worked as a normal labor man in Dutch Shipyards to learn how to build ships, acted as a private on the mortar squads in the dangerous trench work attacking walls, was the first into burning buildings on St Petersburgs fire teams. He transformed his country from a 3 rate backward country into a major power during his life time and Catherine finished the job of making Russia a modern for the time country. Both had a want to be nice and treat the people well personality, but both were as ruthless as they needed to be when necessary. Yep Danny has the ego that you need to be a great leader, and some good instincts, but she is immature and has not had the advice that our spider and dwarf can provide.
  18. Love that the show is back. If Danny already had the wisdom to do the job many would call her a Mary Sue (a term that should stay to describe author avatars in fan fiction, meaning a to good to be true character). They are trying to make Danny more human by having mistakes and immaturity to go with the very necessary ego someone who would be Queen must have. This allows a character improvement type of story. If Tyrion and Varys make it too her there is the wisdom and intelligence network she needs to develop into a great leader. Danny is both right and wrong depending on what definition of politician is being used. She is right in that she is assuming the role though historical claim and military power she is not a politician. But she is wrong in that to get and keep power she must play politics as described quite well by Varys in his story about the sellsword. Power is just a shadow on the wall and politics is how you cast a shadow.
  19. Makes me wish I had unlimited time and budget I go back and read the Quake books and related works. On Skye being super and a agent from summaries of the comics Having a super hero on staff that can handle a high level super villain showing up could be useful. This is the same problem that the Advengers has always had, how to make things interesting with the not much better than normal human Adventures like Mockingbird or The Black Widow when any attack that could actually hurt the more powerful members would turn them into red mist. Also the stronger members can take on any number of normal human enemies with ease why use a lower powered member. Sort of the same thing with Bat Man and Superman combo's, yes Batman can find a weakness or make the right gadget to handle foes way above his power level but Still compared to someone who can take out the planet it is interesting.
  20. If someone vivisected my wife I would want to return the favor even if she recovered. But the reunion might have been off screen after the Inhumans took Cal as well, a problem of story telling showing would have been great but then we don't get as good a shock. We will find out the story soon the way this show is going. Saying Skye Mom and Skye Dad it's making me have Spy Mommy and Spy Daddy Alias flashback. The funding of these groups seams funny after government support withdrawn. A Aircraft carrier sucks up a truly huge amount of cash. Supersonic jets also suck up the fuel the Entire Army uses 7% of the governments fuel budget the Navy 33% and the Air Force 52%. But this fantasy cash is always there is a trope of spy show so I'll live with it. I'm fairly sure they have worked out why mom did not look for daughter as I assume Skye will have to be told soon. I really like the episode, enough shoes dropping when most show can go awhile with any shoes dropping.
  21. I to thought they make Skye a Spiderman level super hero at the most powerful and probably way weaker. Clearly we have been shown she is stronger than that so I will say Skye is a named already in the comics supper hero Quake, already revealed in her getting powers episode comments. Following is already figured out for the most part but added comic info, I'm not a reader just summery off of web summaries. I loved the episode and thought it wonderful the whole time. I can see the views of both S.H.I.E.L.Ds so I like that type of comment. I'm on the protect the super but dangerous side but can see the point of view of better super power be dead side. Sort of confused with the real gun vs iccer thing as I think Bobbie would have noticed the guns were not iccers and most were only carrying one gun I could see.
  22. That ending screamed we have a green light for continuing in some form. Of course not all Hollywood green lights stay green but it was a very good sign. And of course the promo's calling it a season ending not series ending was a good sign.
  23. Previously Review Thanks now got me thinking of the reddish mist descending. Hopefully the following glass, wood, and stone chips distract from that and not maim. Love how the characters have all been fleshed out. The lock in buckles I think was the vest was part of a armor suit project and they put the no out side tamper locks on way to soon for a prototype. Howard is a menace founder of a pattern of menace gadget people in the Marvel Universe, that includes Fury storing all the fun stuff instead of shooting it into the sun like he was supposed to. On the other hand high tech aliens do exist so Earth does need to get it's game on for the future. Have loved the show and as a Agent of Shield fan looking forward to that as well. But hope Agent Carter gets another season. All the additional revenue streams make forecasting what will happen to shows harder. Plus some of the key ratings details are the things the networks have to pay for and are not publicly released as enforced by contract. (yes sometimes you see them in an article but that is always as a leak so not totally reliable) I hope Carter gets some functioning as a advertisement for the Marvel Universe consideration as well.
  24. This shows Thompson really did appreciate Carter's skills before now and maybe even before Russia. Thompson is just a realist and yes still a jerk, but a very smart good at his job jerk. I love how skilled the secondary characters are, except maybe hand to hand skills, in the past would have expected all these men to be stupid, bad at their jobs bigots but yes they are bigots but they are smart fairly good at their jobs more fleshed out humans. AOC really got good this season so if you dropped you might want to check it out. Agent Carter show that shows that are just as long as needed it the best way to get good art. Now to find a way to totally break the old set number of episode trap of TV. Yes Agent Carter might still have had a set number of episodes to do but this short time frame made it great.
  25. I would prefer she goes for the perfect house husband. Some one who would be totally content taking the traditional female role keeping the house and indulging in his hobbies and being the safe harbor for Peggy to relax with when she finds the time. Maybe even a male Jarvis wife who we never even see on screen. Thus Director Carter can be kick ass and we don't have to deal with the romance drama at all.
