Bravo's been showing MDLNY old seasons in the daytime before the new MDLLA episodes, I'm really enjoying seeing the old stuff again.

I watched a few of these recently. Is it just me, or does everyone other than the real estate agents seem to be doing their best to keep from busting out laughing in their "acting" roles?

OK two of them worked at Douglas Elliman before opening their own firm.

Seems likely that the agents on MDL NY would have crossed paths with one of them.

Netflix is premiering Selling the City today.

They already did Owning Manhattan with MDLNY alum Ryan Serhant last year.

So the agents on this new series are also from Douglas Elliman, which was the case with some of the agents on MDLNY.

The formula here is comparable to its sister series: this attractive, competitive group of agents sit around an open office while their boss, who has high expectations of them all, oversees their work and defuses their interpersonal drama. Oh, and of course there are the luxury Manhattan apartment listings throughout that are fascinating to look at but incidental to the plot, in most cases.

So I understand the MDLNY agents like Frederick were probably done with the show, though it seems like Ryan would have kept doing the show.

But why didn't Bravo try to cast some younger agents and continue?  NF must think there's still potential for a show featuring Manhattan real estate porn and manufactured drama between the agents, which are Bravo's specialities.

Maybe the ratings fell off a cliff or something.
