Inkmaster0345 November 14, 2018 Share November 14, 2018 Liked Kyle's tattoo more than Amanda's. Give me something dark and bold over something light any day. I thought the "crooked" comments on Kyle's tattoo were overblown as well. Surprised Dave didn't vote for Tim. He's usually consistent in voting for the contestant who least meets the challenge and that was definitely Tim this week. It was a nice tattoo but one branch and one temple don't have anything to do with composition. 4 Link to comment
dstann November 14, 2018 Share November 14, 2018 Flash challenge was an absolute blow out, not even close. I was blown away by Christian's teams piece. I found it funny hearing Amanda say she was growing in confidence and thinks she can hang with everyone when she has been in to bottom and lucky not to go home for 4 weeks straight. 7 Link to comment
Rancide November 14, 2018 Share November 14, 2018 I feel like the mental health screeners for this show must have somehow overlooked Kyle. He's a talented tattooer, and I didn't think his was the worst of the week, but I am so relieved to see him go. Dude was way, way, way too close to the edge. It was uncomfortable to watch. I hope he goes home and relaxes and keeps working on himself in a less stressful environment. 6 Link to comment
2727 November 14, 2018 Share November 14, 2018 As much as I don't like weird flash challenges in principle, some of the results have been excellent this season. I didn't understand how "invisible paint" was going to work at all, but the end results were impressive. Team Christian's landscape even managed to have perspective and a 3D effect. Nice work. This season feels endless. At this point I'm glad just to see anyone leave. Turk and Tony will likely fail soon, but that would only leave Tiffer on Cleen's team. Since the Rule of Keep It Even is always a requirement, it's a good bet that Amanda will leave next week. Tiffer, TeeJ, and Chris in the finale. 7 Link to comment
Charlesman November 14, 2018 Share November 14, 2018 My favorite detail in Team Christian's flash challenge was the plants in the lower corners: on one side they were dark-on-light, and it was reversed light-on-dark on the other side. Neat solution to the problem. 4 Link to comment
TVbitch November 15, 2018 Share November 15, 2018 Dave seems really checked out this season. Can't blame him, cuz so am I. 5 Link to comment
CheezyXpressed November 15, 2018 Share November 15, 2018 Kyle wasn't the worse one, but I'm okay with him leaving too. He mentioned that he went through some stuff and had a suicide scare at one point, so it seemed harsh that Christian kept picking on him. I don't care for both coaches, but Christian was punchable this week. I'm okay with Clean winning even though all of the black dudes are on the other team. Speaking of which, it's nice to see competent black artists lasting so long on the show. 1 hour ago, TVbitch said: Dave seems really checked out this season. Can't blame him, cuz so am I. Someone mentioned that Dave tried to commit suicide earlier this year, so maybe that's why he's even more checked out than usual? 5 Link to comment

I think that was in his past, not this year. He posted a message on Instagram after the suicides of Anthony Bourdain and Kate Spade in June which talked about how he has been there but managed to find a way out with a lot of help. Going by his other Instagram posts, those deaths happened around the same time they were filming this and perhaps that combined with remembering the recent deaths of his two friends (Chris Cornell and Chester Bennington) led him to be more sober than usual. He seems to keep himself busy, so that's good. 6 Link to comment

Or it could just be that we are up to season 11 and the show is getting a little stale. So much manufactured drama, and they keep tinkering with the format but it is still pretty much the same show. Maybe he is just not that excited by it any more. 3 Link to comment
