Halting Hex April 11, 2019 Share April 11, 2019 Danny has never even been nominated for an Academy Award. (Joss lost for writing Toy Story, but at least he made the race.) However, Danny has two Emmy™ Awards (writing and producing Game Change), where Joss has but the one (Outstanding Live-Action Short for Dr. Horrible; he was nominated for writing Hush, but fell short). Danny has also won a Golden Glode, two WGA Awards, a Producers' Guild Award, a PEN Center Award, an AFI Award (and two other "Top 10" recognitions), an Image Award (three nominations), a Pell Center Prize, and a Television Critics' Award. None of those for acting, though. Season 1 composer Walter Murphy went on to win the Academy Award for Best Original Song, for Ted. Cousin Beth, of course, is currently riding an 0-for-6 skid in Little Gold Man nominations. (She's won two Golden Globes, with nine nominations there.) Drew Goddard was nominated for the Adapted Screenplay Oscar in 2015, for The Martian. He lost. (IMO deservedly; that screenplay was a hash that failed to seamlessly incorporate a lot of its elements. I get that the book was rather sprawling, but that's the challenge.) Lindsay Crouse was nominated for Best Supporting Actress in 1984, for Places in the Heart. John Hawkes (George the Janitor, I Will Remember You) was nominated for Supporting Actor in 2010 for Winter's Bone. Another loser. Amber Tamblyn was nominated for an Emmy™ for Janice, er, Joan of Arcadia. I only stretch the topic this far to include one of my favorite "Lines You'll Never Hear on BtVS" contributions: Quote JANICE: Dawn, God told me to get the Hell away from you. No, really. Halting Hex April 12, 2019 Share April 12, 2019 Ah, Relative Chaos (bottom photo)! The movie that makes you ask, "how much do I really love Nick and CC (and Christopher Gorham), to sit through this one?" In case you don't know, the plot is that Nick and Gorham are brothers and they (and their sister) annually compete in a "competition" to amuse their affable-but-demanding father (Terry Bradshaw). Watching this movie requires one to endure: 1) Terry Bradshaw (yes, that Terry Bradshaw) trying to "act". As NFLers-turned-thespians go, he's no Fred "The Hammer" Williamson. (Williamson's Star Trek guest shot, which was apparently an AFL cross-promotion, usually gets cut in the syndicated re-runs, but he's not that bad, honestly. It's not his fault they got Jeff Corey as the main guest star…between Shatner and Corey, there's a LOT of scenery getting chomped in that one.) 2) Lots and lots of CC-abuse, because she's a stuck-up city bitch and the movie wants us to root for Gorham dump her (she's his fiancée) and hook-up with the pure and sweet country gal he left behind. Charisma, of course, finds layers in the part and IMO Gorham ends up looking like a dick, "happy ending" or not. 3) a lot of IMO disturbing subtext, where it seems as though Bradshaw hasn't only been emotionally abusing his kids but possibly sexually abusing the daughter from a young age, and possibly also doing the same with Nick. This gets really buried (since this is Hallmark Channel or Disney or wherever) and because the film's supposed to be a comedy, but I definitely got creeped out. Okay, maybe I was just having such a bad reaction to Bradshaw that I started seeing things that weren't there, but still. Icky. Charisma's well-rid of the lot of them, I say. Link to comment

Later a longtime central player on General Hospital, to the point where I know one fan who calls Tara "Carly-vamp" after CB's GH character. And, allegedly, a member of the Sapphist faction (the casting director on General Hospital is said to have a preference for "family"), thus possibly partially answering the question of which female guests SMG was very glad to have cast in S2. Still, Tamara's parts are so peripheral…what would Sarah have to say to her other than "I'm glad I didn't really burn your tongue, baby", after all? Hilarious that two of the three Buffyverse actors who had recurring roles on 24 (D.B. Woodside being the third, of course) were not only born on the same day, but that it was the 24th. (Technically "Worst 16 Weeks", if you want to count all the episodes that made it through production.) The idea of Pat being married to Red Forman (of That '70s Show) is far funnier than anything in Worst Week, as far as I could tell from the commercials that CBS subjected us to during that summer's run of Big Brother. I don't know if your episode count is correct, but Julie's in all five seasons of Angel. There are plenty of Darla flashbacks in The Prodigal (1x15) and Five by Five (1x18) and Darla herself is revealed as being inside of Vocah's box at the end of To Live and Shanshu in LA (1x22) I'd say the shared birthdate makes Julie and Bailey Chase soulmates, but if so, there's a glitch in the system, with Bailey having come out as gay. So it goes. ETA: completely unnecessary redundant 'round the back door round of Bufferation for Julie: she was in Dexter with John Lithgow, who was in 3rd Rock from the Sun with William Shatner, who was on Star Trek with guests Michael Ansara and Jack Donner.
