Maelstrom July 13, 2018 Share July 13, 2018 Since the show won't do any features on the models, I decided to start things off myself. Introducing... Matt Chris Wood (aka Pretty Pretty Matt) According to IMDB, he first appeared as a model on Face Off in the 5th season. He's been one of my favorites for many years because of his total commitment to performing each and every makeup as if it were a starring role (no matter how bad, ugly, or goofy the makeup may have looked). And, in fact, Matt's standout performance to me was in the finale of season 9, where he appeared as the Captive in Evan's mini movie. I found his short scene with fellow model Kerstin Lechner so compelling that I wished the story could have been developed into a tv series - I wanted to see more of these characters and their world, and I would have loved to have watched their story unfold. Matt's modeled a lot of makeups over the past eight (!) seasons on this show, and there are too many to recall here, and likely quite a few good ones I've forgotten. In fact, I had forgotten until writing this post that one of my very favorite of his makeups was performed by Matt - Laura's living artwork in season 5: Originally from Georgia, Matt has worked in films and theater in addition to his time on Face Off. Featuring quite a few Face Off makeups as well as a demo reel and a short bio, Matt's official website is here: http://www.mattchriswood.com He can be found on Instagram and Facebook as well. 9 Link to comment
Maelstrom July 13, 2018 Author Share July 13, 2018 (edited) Next up: Nayeli Morales According to IMDB, Nayeli has been appearing on Face Off since 2014, starting in season 6. She is a multi-talented lady, with credits as a visual artist to her name. On her Facebook page, she describes herself as a model, dancer, rapper/singer, actress, musician, and entertainer. She is a dynamic presence on the Face Off stage, always performing each character to its fullest. Last month she posted the following, which I thought was cool enough to share here: Quote June 23, 2018 marks the day that someone stopped me because they recognized me while I was crossing the street. They told me they loved my work and what I do. What a big fan they were and to continue what I was doing. He walked away and ran back to ask for a picture and as the #Hollywood tour bus passed by he yelled "Its the best #faceoff #model " and they took pictures and waved. People around us began to stare, confused as if they should know who I was.... I'm really grateful for everything that has led me to this moment and excited for the opportunity to reach more people. Thank you to anyone that has ever given me a chance to make you my audience. Nayeli is another familiar face who's modeled so many makeups over the years that I have trouble recalling all of them. Some favorites include Darla's faun from the season 8 finale: And from the season 8 premiere (Kelly did a makeup I liked, who knew?) And from season 11 (Emily and Tyler made a great team!) I couldn't find much information about Nayeli online, but you can visit her on Instagram and Twitter. Edited July 13, 2018 by Maelstrom 7 Link to comment
RedRockRosie July 13, 2018 Share July 13, 2018 Wow...thank you!! I've been very curious about some of these models...some of them try so hard- even when the makeups are ...well, let's be honest...really sh*tty. About time some of these models get some 'Previously' love. ;-) 7 Link to comment
Nessie July 14, 2018 Share July 14, 2018 There is some more information about some of the the models in the Questions About Face Off thread started by @KCMUSSMAN when she was on the show last year. 2 Link to comment
Maelstrom July 22, 2018 Author Share July 22, 2018 Meet Megan Albertus! Megan first appeared on Face Off five years ago in season 4, in their Halloween candy themed challenge (in which Anthony was totally robbed, but I digress). She’s probably the best known model on the show due to her bright smile, endless enthusiasm and total commitment to each and every makeup. She has a real knack for bringing the looks to life, which has made to her the one to watch in every episode. She's modeled many amazing looks, such as the "Laguna Blue" doll inspired makeup by Cig and George in season 11, and in season 9's "Extraterrestrial Enterprise." I know there are more of my favorite makeups she's modeled over the years, but photos are surprisingly hard to find, so I've included this collage from her Twitter feed. She was born in Spokane, Washington but now lives in LA. Here is an interesting article from 2009 by her local newspaper. She is a certified cat lover, volunteer at animal shelters, and shared this cartoon made by a fellow volunteer on her Twitter awhile back. You can find her (and her adorable cats!) on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook. 8 Link to comment
Maelstrom July 23, 2018 Author Share July 23, 2018 Good interview with models Matt and Isabelle from 2016: https://www.realityblurred.com/realitytv/2016/02/face-off-models-interviews/ Syfy appears to have some videos getting to know the models from season 5, but their stupid site didn't like my ad blocker so I couldn't watch them. Here's the link in case anyone else has better luck: http://www.syfy.com/faceoff/videos/meet-the-models-fun-teamwork 1 Link to comment

Maelstrom July 28, 2018 Author Share July 28, 2018 Meet Amanda Dilks! She first appeared on Face Off in 2014, starting in season seven, and is originally from Pennsville, NJ. She has an extensive background in dance (in fact, her mother owned a dance studio where she first discovered her love of performing) as well as singing and acting. Read more about her and her experience joining Face Off here. She currently works as a personal trainer and yoga instructor. She's modeled some of my favorite looks over the years, including Keaghlan's life-inspired makeup in the season 7 premiere, Cig's "Beautiful Disaster" fairy (which earned him a win and finally made me a fan of his work), and Emily's regal foundation challenge in the Queen Bees episode of season 8: She has a website though it doesn't have much on it so far, and you can also find her on the usual suspects - Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. 2 Link to comment
Maelstrom July 29, 2018 Author Share July 29, 2018 Next: Elena Popzlateva I couldn't find much information about her at all, not even how long she's been appearing on Face Off, though the earliest photo I found of her puts her all the way back to 2013 in season 5. She is a classically trained ballet dancer, and seems to work quite steadily as a model. Her modeling work can be found on Instagram. She's been a familiar face for many years on Face Off, but she never really stood out to me until season 11's Ballerina Puppet by Emily and Tyler. This masterpiece is one of my all-time favorite looks: Some other great pieces that come to mind (though I've likely forgotten many) include season 10's Magician's Assistant and season 5's Mother Earth Goddess by Lyma. 4 Link to comment

PhoneCop August 10, 2018 Share August 10, 2018 Bye, models of Face Off! We'll miss your often unsung assemblage of pretty. Nayeli, Megan, Hoyt...and past models James, Evan, Teisha... But I'll miss you most of all, Matt. Even your fluctuating British accent in the finale was charming. 5 Link to comment
