Tandy is consumed with getting answers about the Roxxon cover up. To get the answers she is looking for, Tandy tests out her power to gain new insights. Tyrone, on the other hand, is focusing on being a normal kid as the basketball state finals approach. With so much weighing on him lately, can he truly push everything to the side and win the big game for Billy? Meanwhile, Det. O’Reilly looks into the city’s drug problems to get some answers of her own.

This show is coming along very nicely. I like the addition of Tyrone and Tandy being able to see people’s hopes and fears. Those poor boys on the other basketball team. Tyrone did a good thing missing the shot on purpose to make things right with the ref cheating.

I was worried when the female detective was snorting cocaine because I didn’t want her to be another shady cop, but she’s pretty smart knowing how to get in with the shady detective. Bummer that Billy’s friend is working with him because he seemed like a nice guy.

1. For the love of god, make Cloak's powers consistent. If he's suddenly reading everybody's fears when they touch him he should be reading more people's fears.  He's being touched by a whole lot of people. When he's having sex with his girlfriend, that should be a horrifying experience for them both.  As he's seeing her fears and she's getting sick.

2. Did the coach not realize Tyrone wasn't there when giving his halftime instructions?

3.  Just have one of your writers watch some basketball games and learn the terminology.  If Tyrone is a star basketball player and a starter he would not refer to himself as a sixth man, even if he was being modest.

4. Wouldn't it be easier and less obvious to have Tandy brush hands as opposed to grabbing necks?

5.  Why is Tandy the one apologizing when Tyrone told her to kill herself?

6. Tandy's poor poor partner, not only did she break his heart but she also left him in jail after he got arrested helping her. If he turns into a villain, I wouldn't blame him.

7. So we got confirmation that Detective Brigid was indeed the detective from Luke Cage who's now in New Orleans.

8. Is Tandy a hacker? Has that been established? How did she get herself a whole Instagram profile out of thin air?

9. Interesting twist having the friend be in league with the crooked cop. We'll see how that plays out going forward.

10. That sex scene at the beginning was clearly  there for the promos as it had no bearing on anything.

I think something is up with Tyrone's girlfriend. She seems to know more then she should. How'd she know he gave up the game for the Ref? She and her aunt seem shady to me.

I guess Tandy was supposed to be hot woman at that party, but no one thought it was weird the way she touched their necks or ears?

I did like that their powers are connected and the more she uses hers the more Tyrone is supposed to use his. However he's stuck at school all day where he wants to be hidden not stand out. While Tandy has the whole day to herself to practice her powers.

O'Reilly is from Luke Cage. That's an interesting connection. I guess she'll be more open to people developing powers since she should know about Luke and the rest of them. She's trying to get to Connors by pretending to be a dirty cop? I wonder if she'll become her comic counterpart?

The whole point is that he can't control his powers. So the touch-fear thing comes and goes, and seems to be triggered by high tension.

Tandy, on the other hand, has been able to fine-tune her control through experimentation via suicide.

Five episodes in? I think that was the establishing.

I am pretty sure that Evita (Tyrone's girlfriend) has some of those Voodoo powers that her aunt displays or at least some understanding of supernatural events.  Evita also prayed to the Voodoo priestess for "something" (we don't know exactly what her wish was), but it probably had something to do with her and Tyrone.

If the Ref has been "throwing the game" in your favor for the entire game and you are still losing in the final minutes, you don't deserve to win.

Strange they didn't cast a few "tall" characters to be on the basketball team, this is for the "State Finals" after all.

I thought that Tandy's "hope" visions were too long and Tyrone's "fear" visions were too dark and too short (you could barely tell what was happening and why).

Tandy can create a fake social media profile in a hour that suggests that she has millions of followers, she should be selling her talents to the highest bidders and making mad "cheddar".

O'Reilly didn't really have to take drugs to get close to the crooked cop, Connors. She has already been approached by him when he interfered in her rape investigation. A simple drug test could ruin O'Reilly's career.

I know that Mina Hess is really the important Roxxon employee on the show, but I was really intrigued by another employee, Louden Swift, the one armed man who job it is to (rake up leaves at the beach?).

I didn't really like this episode, everybody's motivations seemed a little off, like nobody wanted to directly confront each other.

Beyond the Luke Cage mentions if the auntie or cheerleader does have some super enhancement to know things like Ty and Tandy do they have the easy non Roxxon route provided by The Inhumans and Agents of SHIELD. Thus no need to origin story the powers and build back the "all" connected selling point.

I thought that Tandy was one of a few "hot" women escorts provided for the party.

Did she actually take the drugs? She seemed completely fine when talking to him, unless shes already an addict. She does seem somewhat competent so I hope that's not the case. I like seeing good cops on tv.

The aunt and Evita seem to have targeted Tyrone. They must know about his powers. Is it the dark matter powers from Agent Carter?

I agree as soon as I saw Detective O'Reily playing Red I figured she is an experienced undercover and had faking techniques in hand.

Zero Matter, which became the basis for  Darkforce was part of Agent Carter's second season and also used as part of Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. But they are probably related.

Same thing happened with his mom in a non-tense situation. Its pretty much been a thing that if they touch people they see hopes/fears, regardless.  Hell, Tandy was using it before her suicide attempt.  His touch/fear thing just seemed to suddenly appear and disappear during the game when it was convenient to the plot.

Should've been established earlier then five episodes in that she could do stuff like that. For now, I'll give her the benefit of the doubt and assume her dry cleaner connect did it. No idea where she got the money for that, but I'll ignore it for now.

Did Tandy pay for her new identity yet or does she still have that money?

She could've used that to buy her social media identity. Since shes letting her boyfriend rot in jail. Poor guy he was being used.

There's nothing she did that - IMO - needed to be established in the Pilot of the show. She's been depicted as con thief, and faking a social media profile seems part of the skill set. It's not in the same league as breaking into a bank's database or even full-on identity theft. She was trying to scam what was basically an escort service, not a black-ops unit.

It happened with his mom after a very tense day so I feel it still counts. And of course, it's convenient. Everything is convenient to the plot. Tandy learning how to call her daggers at will because she tried to kill herself is convenient to the plot. When it becomes more convenient to the plot that Tyrone can control his powers and not just jump at will to convenient locations, then said event will occur. The issue for me would be if it contradicted something already established in the show - if they had given rules for his powers manifesting and were breaking them - and so far, it doesn't.

^THIS.

Also, I liked that it also served as a "f**k you" to Tyrone's shitty team-mates.

I always assumed her driving off meant that she bought the new ID but since they never explicity confirmed it, I'll accept that.

Having hacker skills is a pretty major thing to keep hidden. If she has said skills , why does she even need her dry cleaner connect for anything other then to sell stolen items?

In episode 4, he said when I touch people I see their fears, we've seen Tandy use her touch powers to see her stepfather's hopes before she got control of her dagger powers.   It's easily contradicting things shown in the show for plot convenience.

I think he was a corporate propaganda piece showing off their executives, that beyond being  wounded veteran was still operating on the personal level with people. When in truth he probably only see high dollar escorts and is never seen by the regular people of NOLA.

The show definitely gets better each episode, but there is always just one little detail, one little thing, that bugs and chips away at me each episode, that keeps it from being perfect.  In past episodes it was Tandy stealing the car but keeping the just married signs on, the sloppy hitwoman, and in this episode, Tyrone teleporting/phasing and not one person on the basketball team noticing.  Again, for me, just a tiny off detail keeping episodes from being perfect.

At first I was like, O'Reilly, no! But she's obviously plotting, but I hope the drug use doesn't come back to bite her.

And Voodoo girlfriend and her aunt... there, they'll... I'm not sure, she seems so sweet, but she's probably going to turn out shady in some way.

I think they were trying to show that Tandy and Tyrone's powers are connected. Since she was using her powers willy nilly, his got out of control. Especially since he can't control his like she can.
