Jynnan tonnix April 27, 2014 Share April 27, 2014 It's as though he has a slight underbite. Not my favorite look either. It reminds me of that guy in the show "Burn Notice". He also has teeth where you see both the upper and lowers when he talks or smiles. I guess it's just a structural thing but although I'm usually all about leaving interesting dental quirks alone as opposed to trying to give the whole world the cookie-cutter perfect grill, I will admit that this particular quirk just comes across as a bit uncomfortable. 2 Link to comment
jodo April 27, 2014 Share April 27, 2014 I feel shallow saying this, but is it just me? I have to ask. When Sam smiles (bless his heart) he opens his mouth and puts the bottom of his top teeth on the top of his bottom teeth....if that makes sense. I know what I'm trying to say. It's like he just stacks his teeth together and doesn't really "smile." Ok I'm going to hell. That's exactly it!!! It's like when the dentist wants to check your bite and they ask you to put your teeth together. I couldn't figure out what it was. Ok going to hell too! 1 Link to comment
BogoGog24 April 27, 2014 Share April 27, 2014 Perhaps Sam is aware of his quirky teeth and maybe that's part of why he seems shy and uncomfortable, like maybe he's insecure about it. Poor kid. He could be so cute if maybe he got braces or something and had that little problem fixed. I don't think Sam will outlast Jessica. He has already been in the bottom 2 or 3 times I think and of course had to be saved. That doesn't really bode well for him. Jessica, on the other hand, has only been in the bottom once and it was just this week, for the first time ever. She could end up fighting with Jena for the third spot, but I think she will last at least a couple more weeks. I personally prefer Sam over her anyway though. Jessica is not exactly an exciting performer herself and I don't think her voice is as good as Sam's. Hers may have more character but her vibrato is really out of control (she has that "goat" effect like Casey James did) and sometimes her voice can sound nasal. With Sam, the dead eyes and lack of emotion/personality is understandable, being that he's only a teenager. Jessica, on the other hand, is supposed to have years of performing experience under her belt, yet she is a very bland and uncomfortable looking performer. I understand it could be from playing mostly in bars all the time but still. I wouldn't be mad if Sam did outlast her, but like I said, I don't think that will happen. Link to comment

I wasn't trying to say that Sam needs braces. Not at all. I just wish he could be relaxed enough and comfy enough to really actually smile from happiness and joy. A smile that's real doesn't look like teeth stacked and lips pulled back, like at the dentist, as mentioned. Link to comment

I've seen him smile during interviews and other "relaxed" moments and he still smiled the exact same way. Some people just have really big teeth and small mouths I guess. Link to comment

He seems like the type who will likely get better with time and experience, I think. None of those who are left are really great actors, but then they didn't sign up for that. I'm referring to the the Ford commercials which are kind of cringe-worthy for me; but the Ford bits are not as bad as the Algonquin Round Table ...starring JenaNotGina and some other people. :) Edited April 28, 2014 by ari333 1 Link to comment
nutty1 April 28, 2014 Share April 28, 2014 I think it is just his bite that causes his smile to look that way. I have seen others with the same issue. I do think braces would have definitely fixed that. 2 Link to comment
