cpcathy February 17, 2017 Share February 17, 2017 That was one damn funny episode. I haven't laughed that hard at a half hour sitcom in a long time. 1 Link to comment

I like Chip and I love Dale, but the whole show could be about Christine and Martha at Costco and I would be happy. Still blown away by Louie's portrayal of Christine. Everything about it is perfect: the conversations she had with the workers, how she knew the door guy's name, her taking one or two more of pizza samples. I mean, just the discussion she had about the board games was just gold. 12 Link to comment

This season is so much better than season 1. I can't decide which character I love more. How old are your kids? Who knows?! Credit card security: There was a $10,000 charge... Christine: Yes, I had to post bail. CC Sec: Oh, well it's good to know that was you! Edited February 17, 2017 by possibilities 5 Link to comment

How can watching a woman go thru Costco be so entertaining!? But I'm worried about her diabetes. I thought she had really made a change. Here she's eating pizza samples (at least they're organic) and a hot dog (I think, unless just Martha had that). Plus, Dale took a Toblerone out of the fridge (though that could have been Dale's, I guess). Chip and Dale's fight was epic and hilarious, but man, I was dreading Christine's arrival. I felt so bad for her even before she saw it all. Would a toilet really spew up waste like that? Christine: I've never been backstage at Costco before! 4 Link to comment
Maire February 18, 2017 Share February 18, 2017 Loved it so much I watched it twice. My fave episode of the season so far. I also know my favorite Costco receipt checker by name (Hey Wayne!) 1 Link to comment

Nice detail that she had a big bouquet of flowers in her haul. One of the best parts of Costco is their floral department. Wonderful blooms at low prices. I've been known to treat myself to a bouquet or two in my time ;-) 1 Link to comment
ElectricBoogaloo February 18, 2017 Author Share February 18, 2017 I loved watching Christine at Cost Co interacting with the employees and taking Martha to lunch. But I was also dreading the moment she got home and saw that her beloved boys had wrecked her house. I hope this detente between Chip and Dale lasts at least a few episodes. The neighbor interrupting Dale choking Chip to ask if their mom was home and to tell her that her sprinklers went off in the middle of the day was classic nosy neighbor! 4 Link to comment

But I had a thought after the show was over that since the carpeting in the entire house seemed to be ruined, could it be that a certain carpeting business owner might make a return appearance to install new ones? Yes, I know Ken's in Colorado, but a girl can dream! "Martha and Christine Go to Costco" should be the spin off. Get to work, FX. Link to comment

Yes, I know Ken's in Colorado, but a girl can dream! I hadn't thought of that! I bet Christine gives him a call to get advice, although he already gave her some. Was it mixed pile being the best? It was wonderful seeing Chip and Dale working together to get the cat back. Chip's idea about opening the tennis ball can was genius. Oh, and Ronald Reagan and ... I'm drawing a blank on the other cat's name. Anyway, loved that. So funny when the brothers are driving through the neighborhood shouting out "Ronald Reagan!" and then walking toward the bridge calling "Ronald Reagan!" as the two hikers watch them -- a guy in a huge clown suit and his twin with a tissue stuck up his nose -- and then turn around. 4 Link to comment

Quickbeam February 20, 2017 Share February 20, 2017 This past year I had a very old toilet in our very old house just fall apart. We ended up with clean water everywhere but nothing from the waste stack. Just FYI.... This is the only appointment TV in our house right now. I just love Christine at Costco, her conversations and politeness. It is as if Costco is her safe place. Whoever does the stunts with Zach is pretty Zach sized. 1 Link to comment
possibilities February 20, 2017 Share February 20, 2017 "Fresh off the Boat" did a Costco episode, too, and it had a very similar quality, with the sample food, the staff you know by name, the family atmosphere, and like it was a safe and welcoming place to hang out and be yourself. We don't have a Costco near me, but these product placements are very effective because I had previously heard it's a good company, but never before did I particlarly care that there wasn't one nearby so I could find out for myself! Having said all that, whether it's true to the store or not, the writing is also done well as good television, because I totally bought both Christine and Jessica (from FOB) as being totally in character, and they are VERY different personalities. It just works! Link to comment
bethster2000 February 20, 2017 Share February 20, 2017 I have a soup recipe that one of the door checkers at my Costco gave me when I was sick and had dragged myself out for supplies. That stuff honestly has medicinal properties. 2 Link to comment
