S04.E06: Recipe for Death II: Kiss the Cook

Gotta say, I did like Murray's one-liners and don't know why Adam didn't.

I do like Barry a lot, but every now and then, it's nice to see him minimized in terms of screen time so other characters can shine.

Oddly, Beverly and Erica's storyline was kind of sweet.  I loved the montage of Erica making all of her mother's sweaters worse.

Dave Kim is always welcome on my screen.  The young actor really sells his comedic timing.

Gotta suck for the actress playing Emmy that she was only called in for one scene and then didn't even get a line to say.

No appearance made by cute little Lucky?  I expected to see Murray or at least Pops holding her when Adam made his pitch to Murray.

This episode felt like it was speaking directly to me about sweaters:

I always wanted a sweater dress as badly as Erica  (and never got one)(I also wanted Tretorn shoes)

My mother-in-law has a sweater collection as extensive and garish as Beverly's and she still wears them. Had one on yesterday when we took her out to lunch, where we looked at my husband's baby book while we waited for or entrees to arrive.

I'm usually quick to comment on Goldbergs episodes. It's one of my favourites, and I pretty much always watch day of, but I was flying early Thursday and missed this week.

There was a lot to like about this week's episode. We got a confident Erica storyline, and like Michel said, the downplayed Barry was fun, and you really saw the parallels between him and Coach Mellor. After having so much Murray saying no to Adam, which Dave Kim nailed in the opening run down after the movie, it was cool seeing him enthusiastic about something Adam was interested in. I assume that's more the case than not, it's just easier to write the struggle.

One of the better episodes of the season for me. But I can think they're starting to line up for the end. One more season gets them to syndication, and I think that would be a good run for a Family Show like this.

I love when Bev cusses. Makes me laugh every time. I also love whenever I see Pops with his martini (which is all the time) The destruction of her sweaters was very funny the first time, the second was a bit of overkill, they knew what they were doing.

I also wanted a sweater dress, or to just shop in Benetton, but it was Uptons for us. I did get a wonderful/terrible sweater for Christmas from Benetton one year. That thing lasted forever, I could probably still wear it. I should have kept it, it will be coming back into fashion any day now.

Surprised it's been two days and no one's created a thread for this one.

I think this show is starting to lose its appeal...I know it has for me, my heart's not in it like it used to be.

The show didn't come up On Demand until a week later, and we just caught up.

Gimbles closing in Philly was apparently a Big Deal. Kudos for Bev getting a markdown to 12.5%, but getting Erica banned from Benneton was a dick move.

It's your lucky day (ha ha), because there was one quick but awesome Lucky bit. If you want to watch it for yourself, it's right after Erica and Bev get kicked out of Benetton. It's the movie-filming scene. If you just want to see a screenshot: http://imgur.com/a/fgVGl
