ae2 March 18, 2016 Share March 18, 2016 So in a strange twist of precisely timed publicity, just two days before this episode aired a press release announced that former shark Kevin Harrington partnered with GlowBowl, which looks an awful lot like Illumibowl. Or Illumibowl looks an awful lot like Glowbowl. It's not really clear. Glowbowl claims they have a patent. (I'm too lazy to look it up and see what it covers.) Illumibowl claimed they have a patent pending, and that they were "first to market." 1 Link to comment
Tara Ariano March 18, 2016 Share March 18, 2016 In case you missed it, here's the Previously.TV post on the episode! Shark Tank Sees The Light At The End Of The ToiletToilet lights, pepperoni-colored pajamas, cardboard cutout cats riding mechanical magic carpets -- you know, fairly run-of-the-mill stuff for our Shark Tank friends. "GlowBowl attaches discretely to the toilet bowl, transforming a dark, foreboding toilet into a gentle, welcoming night light."If your toilet is "foreboding" to you, a little night light ain't gonna cure your illness. basiltherat March 19, 2016 Share March 19, 2016 Have you ever read Stephen King's "Dreamcatcher" Because THAT toilet was most definitely "foreboding"! 1 Link to comment
Ottis March 22, 2016 Share March 22, 2016 I thought the beer guy was absolutely right - once you outsource it, is it still a craft beer? Or, perhaps I am naive. He actually was being silly. There is already a model for this called Brew Hub in Fla., where a company makes craft beer to specifications. That way new craft brewers can reduce start up costs as they expand. We looked at the toilet thing, but Amazon users claimed it didn't stay put. Instead we went with a competitor, and so far they are a big hit (two toilets). 1 Link to comment
LeGrandElephant April 2, 2016 Share April 2, 2016 The crowdsourcing thing seems to be becoming more popular. I've ordered some pants from Betabrand, which is a company that crowd sources clothing in the same way - anyone can pitch an idea, people vote on it, and the ones with the most votes actually get made and sold. I think you can vote for a design without paying but you can also preorder at a discount. Link to comment
