Sorry, but I just couldn't think of a funny title for this -- Jester, I'm not!

 

So anyway, now that production is starting, we're bound to get a ton of spoilers on the upcoming season between now and January, so bring them hither for discussion!

Are official cast announcements (revealed in articles, tweets, etc) considered spoilers from here on out, then? Probably.

^ j5cochran's title suggestion seems good to me, or anything from that last bit of singing in the season 1 finale.

I've seen guesses ranging from Kristin Chenowith to Jennifer Morrison.  I guess it depends on whether it's a singing/dancing role.

 

And how nuts would the OUAT fans go if it turned out to be Jen -- with Colin O'Donoghue's Hook in tow?

^ I'd be a happy camper just to see them as background extras. The hair's far too short to be JMo's though.

I've seen people guess Kylie Minogue too, who has a background in singing. I had to google her. :P she looks like she could fit the bill.

Probably for budget reasons.  This show, unlike Once, is actually being filmed at least in part in the UK (the irony being that it apparently hasn't been picked up by any UK television networks yet!).

Sarah Hadland and Sally Phillips. I wonder what roles their characters are going to play in season 2? Is Madalena planning a hostile take-over, or is she going to haw a slumber party ala The Princess Diaries 2? Except it'd probably be evil-themed.

Daisy's definitely back. Lol, we can probably assume that all the characters featured in the ending Galavant reprise are back for obvious reasons. Looks like she's been doing some singing :).

Maybe the Jester's line about gang colors?

"Production Arts: At least let me change my clothes first. These are gang colors!"

So it looks like Galavant's keeping the slightly longer beard? I'm cool with it. He looks awesome. Kylie's dress reminds me a bit like Belle's from Once. At least the color is about the same.

It seems like it's been raining quite a bit during filming this year according to some of the bts photos we've seen.

Definitely very rainy for them this year. The scenery reminds me of Oregon except that the castles would be replaced by very tall firs, lol.

Team Hortensia has some sort of storyline with Robert Lindsay guesting as a character named Wormwood and a lesser known actor, Muzz Khan, as one named Barry, as far as I can fathom, from Twitter. Lots of scenes together and references to the "Wormwood/Barry" storyline.

Speculation/guessing... with a male character closer in age to Isabella whose name rhymes with that young cousin, Prince Harry, and this being medieval comedy... more royal relatives/courtiers, aspiring to usurp Cousin/Prince Harry's throne, perhaps?

Isn't that a great picture of Gareth wearing a crown?  For some reason, I didn't make the leap to Gareth becoming King of Valencia when Madalena told him he had gotten a promotion in the season finale.  It makes sense and I'm definitely interested in the Madalena/Gareth/Sid dynamic.

There was a tweet last week from Kat Likkel in response to a fan question to Karen David & Mallory Jansen asking who would win in a battle between Isabella and Madalena that makes me think we're going to see something along those lines next season.  I cannot begin to express how excited it makes me to imagine Isabella going toe to toe with Madalena to regain her father's kingdom and her rightful inheritance.

Looks like Izzy has a new dress. It looks like a pretty color. Too bad you can only see just a little of it. I wonder how many episodes Muzz Khan is going be in. I can't remember if it was ever specified.

I noticed that too!  All that Muzz Khan said on his Twitter was he had landed a semi-regular role.  Going off of last season, the semi-regulars who had storylines and/or songs were the King & Queen of Valencia, Kingsley, Jester Steve, Chef Vincenzo, and Gwynne.  Chef was in all 8 episodes, Izzy's parents & Jester were in 7 episodes, and Kingsley & Gwynne were in 3 episodes.  Best guess for Khan's character is anything above 4 episodes, I'm thinking, since he definitely has a sizable recurring role.

I'm definitely loving the longer hair on Joshua/Galavant this year.  He was yummy last year and this year might be even better.

The cast and crew really seem to just LOVE everything they're doing on this show.  You can sense the enthusiasm and energy through their various Twitter feeds and they are so excited about what they've come up with for season 2.

I hope we don't get more of those awful ABC Promo monkey commercials where they tried to use the Galavant theme song for all their other shows, with dreadful lyrics/jingles.  I am, though, hoping that "December" means the first week of December not mid-December for the first trailer.

Also, I wonder if the 202-2 means it's the second song from episode 2? You can read some of the lyrics too! I spy Gareth, Madalena, and Sid's names.

Could be!  We'll know in 7 weeks and 6 days!  I'm positive it's episode 2 but hadn't pondered what the "-2" meant. 

I cannot begin to describe how fan-girly excited I got with that spoiler from the fabulous Mr. Menken.  Best spoiler yet!  I kind of want to get out my flute and take a swing at figuring out the tune, lol.

Oh so much spoilery goodness in today's appearance by Karen & Mallory on GMA!

Some of it we already knew - they're filming in Morocco, Tangiers specifically.  They confirmed that it's "The Battle of the Three Armies" - check out the Kingdoms of Galavant map picture that Dan Fogelman shared this summer. 

Also, Kat Likkel had hinted this fall that there would be a showdown between Madalena & Isabella, which Mallory teased us about, calling it a "medieval catfight".  I have a suspicion that if any show can top the unequivocal "Best TV Girlfight EVER" between Sydney & Francie's doppelganger on Alias, it just might be Galavant, lol.  Of course, we'll all probably laugh through this one, but I am on tenterhooks with anticipation!

Mallory also hinted at romance between Madalena and "her new king", as well as Madalena going darker and more sinister.  I'm hoping that any romance there doesn't destroy the inner honor and kindness we saw in Gareth last season.  I do trust our showrunners though, so it should be good. 

And Karen said what we all likely guessed with respect to Galabella - fraught with obstacles, frustration and desperation.  At some point, they obviously reunite, if only because we know the main cast are in Morocco for this battle.

Oh, and new dresses for both Madalena and Izzy.  GORGEOUS new dresses.  So, we know Izzy gets at least two new dresses this season, lol.
