Actually contrary to the title, there will only be ONE reboot now (but perhaps sequels).

 

The dumb-ass idea to have parallel female and male franchises has (wisely) been dumped. Or at least the male version's existence was denied when Ivan Reitman was asked about it.

I am already excited for this movie because I have adored Kate McKinnon since her "Big Gay Sketch Show" days, but given how many haters there are, I'm seriously contemplating just organizing mass repeat viewings to drive the ticket prices up. Even if it sucks, just to stick it to the haters.

Okay, that name means nothing to you because it's a new character in this new rebooted universe. Martin Heiss is a professional supernatural debunker, a sort of an Amazing Randi type, who shows up and 'proves' the new Ghostbusters are fakes. It's a really tiny role, and it's sort of the mirror image of where we meet Peter Venkman at the start of Ghostbusters II.

That would require this to be a sequel to the original though and not a reboot. And I think they've indicated for sure that this is a reboot. At least that's the impression I've been getting.

Considering this is going to be a reboot, it would be interesting if they have Bill and Dan still play their characters but in this version they never became The Ghostbusters.  Sort of like an alternate universe where Dan and Bill are still their scientists characters just not Ghostbusters.  It would be a good way for them to reprise their characters but not actually effect the new storyline.

 

Honestly for all I know Bill is playing Venkman, they are just trying to keep it a secret.

What is the deal with that anyway?  I feel Ernie is always left out of any Ghostbusters discussion.  Arguably the man has the best resume out of all four actors post Ghostbusters.  Bill may be the famous, but Ernie always surprises me.
