Artsda June 12, 2015 Share June 12, 2015 Juliet has reason to worry about Nick, whose estranged older brother, Finn, shows up with information about the drunk driver who killed their parents 18 years ago. Elsewhere, Dov and Chris kick some criminal butt when they take down a wanted MMA fighter. I love Nick and Price, the scene in the truck after her hangover was great. I can do without Ward and their insta-relationship where she's involved in Nick's family life while people like Gail/Andy and his actual close people are clueless and have no part of it. Other than Ward's part in it, I liked Nick's backstory. Dov and Epstein working together again. Oliver's daughter still being a bad teenager being picked up by cops again. Now I don't trust the chief who helped Oliver erase her arrest. 2 Link to comment
Lady Calypso June 12, 2015 Share June 12, 2015 Nick and Chloe are great together. Too bad we get so few scenes with them now. I liked seeing Nick's backstory, even if it just ends up being a one off. Juliette being there wasn't that interesting because I wish more people got involved. Yay for Chris getting a decent plot this episode, and also yay to Dov for figuring out that he wants to move into Intelligence. It'll be fun to see him working that. Oliver's gonna be in a tight spot with the chief, I can just see it now. 1 Link to comment
Sandman June 12, 2015 Share June 12, 2015 Oliver's gonna be in a tight spot with the chief, I can just see it now. Oliver owes the Commissioner a favour just when Dov's and Marlo's investigation into the bombing gets shut down? This is not a coinky-dink, boys and goils. 1 Link to comment
DropTheSoap June 12, 2015 Share June 12, 2015 Oliver just sold his soul. Stop trying to make Duncan a thing. Dov/Marlo make an interesting non-romantic pairing, as do the noted Chloe/Nick. Please no Duncan/anyone. Nice to see less McSwarek. 3 Link to comment
kalamac June 12, 2015 Share June 12, 2015 I love the Dov/Marlo & Nick/Chloe friendships. Except for going to the movies, I'm with Gail on everything she doesn't want on her bucket list. Although, Traci should know that due to the magic of baby-sitters, you can in fact still go to the movies if you have a child. I enjoyed this episode. 1 Link to comment
weightyghost June 12, 2015 Share June 12, 2015 I'm perfectly okay with Juliet taking the other side of Nick's story because that means that Andy stayed out of it for the most part. Gail is too busy with her child storylne, Chris isn't getting anything good this year, Chloe is only there for comic relief...of course the writers would chose Juliet. And it does play in to the fact that Nick never truly bonded with the original rookies (outside of Gail because of their history). But even with Andy's lack of screen time, she still managed to piss me off - what did Juliet do to warrant her beat down at the beginning? Blaming her for Nick faking sick, her butting in like a jealous exgirlfriend at the bar. The only thing Andy really knows is that Juliet didn't tell her anything, which is in her right since she doesn't know Andy. Yeah, Juliet is hiding something and it's going to be real fun when Andy gets to be right, but for now? Back off Andy. You don't get to pry into his personal life, and then get mad when Juliet respectively tells you to ask him tomorrow. Dov/Chloe remain favs. Chris is great when he's not wrapped up in drama. I'm not really feeling this storyline for Gail but I've just accepted that it's happening. I think Peter Mooney did a great job with this episode, particularly the scene at the bar when he started to get into the accident. I'm glad we finally got his backstory after 4 years. 4 years and we're just now getting an episode about him after the adoptive storyline last year. And if that means less McSwarek, even better. MissLucas June 12, 2015 Share June 12, 2015 Very good episode - the lack of McSwarek did help a lot. And I have to agree: it was about time we get a Nick-centric episode. I'm glad Juliette was part of it and not Andy. Of course Andy blaming Juliette for Nick's uncharaceristic behavior was an eye-rolling moment. This plot would have worked without her interfering for no good reason at all. I love the Dov and Marlo pairing - for me one of the hallmarks of a good show is whether the writers manage to create believable and authentic relationships between men and women without romance. Sure it's still possible that's going to happen but right now that's a great pairing without will-they-won't-they shenanigans - same goes for Nick and Chloe. And I like that Marlo is still part of an important plot that has nothing to do with her pregnancy. Duncan: it really looks as if they're trying to pull a Voight here, but the actor does not have Jason Beghe's charisma and the character does not have the advantage of getting a fresh start in a spin-off. Goofy Duncan is kinda fun - especially when paired with Price - but scheming, inept Duncan is not that easily forgotten and so the transition feels jarring. Is it just me or is the writing this season getting a bit sharper when it comes to humor? I've noticed quite a few quips the last couple of episodes. Rookie Blue is not a show I remember for witty lines (except when Price is around) so I'm not complaining. 1 Link to comment
possibilities July 17, 2015 Share July 17, 2015 It's astounding how much more I like this show when it's not full of McNally-Swarek. Andy pouts all the time and I can't stand it. But I could kind of squint and just not see her this week, and Swarek isn't nearly as annoying in scenes with men as he is with women, so I didn't get grossed out by him with Oliver. I love Oliver, and now see him as a marked man. I don't know exactly what the deal is, but that offer to handwave Izzy's arrest? I'm haunted already and it hasn't even had time to fester. I like Gail now that she's on the lesbian and mommy tracks. Enjoyed Nick's story, too. Don't trust Ward at all. Like Dov going into intelligence. Really hope he and Marlo stay professional, and only professional. They both need to focus on work and not moping. Bothered by the previews. How often are we going to do the damsel officer in distress? When the men get into trouble, it's always stuff like bombs and stabbings and gunfire, all manly and heroic. When it's the women, it's all kidnappy and waiting to be rescued. Except for Duncan, who is (was) incompetent. Feh 2 Link to comment
twoods July 17, 2015 Share July 17, 2015 Andy is still annoying when the storyline isn't about her. Why is she getting all pissy at Juliet when Nick is acting shady? I like that she wasn't going to air Nick's dirty laundry when Andy asked, and respected his privacy. I like the two of them so of course the writers will ruin it. How did Chloe go from super annoying last season to likable now? I am so on board with her and Dov getting back together. Duncan wasn't as annoying this week, and loving less bitchy Gail this season. I wish Oliver didn't cave in, and let his daughter have a record. She was always a brat, and will probably do something dumb again now that she knows her dad will clean up her messes. I wish we got a scene of him laying into her. Link to comment

(I am computer-inept, and I won't tell you how many times i tried to include this quote with my other post. So sorry for double posting) I do love these friendships. Esp because Nick and Chloe are so unexpected. For any GH fans - it reminds me of Carly and Jason at the beginning. She just keeps showing up and eventually he gives in and just accepts she's not going anywhere. And like you all have said, I enjoy that they are friends without any angst. Also - I enjoy that their friendship is accepted by everyone else without her co-workers questioning any ulterior motives. I'm with twoods - when did Chloe become my favorite character???? 2 Link to comment
