From the funny 'our reality is your psychosis' opener to Dean tip-toeing to avoid stepping on cracks (to avoid breaking Mary's back), every laugh had an element of pain. Then there was the sucking chest wound of hearing Dean self-analyze via delusion and Sam's discovery of his life fueled by anger. You brought the funny and the insight (plus the aforementioned Pudding!). You were a worthy episode in S5. Farewell. SueB November 4, 2014 Share November 4, 2014 Point of No Return! Oh what a fantastic episode. It was EPIC and an absolute turning point for the season IMO. Since I loved Sam's absolute faith in Dean, when everyone else had written him off, I was pleased to see that final confrontation in the beautiful room (in Van Nuys!). Zachariah's death was one of those fist pump moments for me. Dean couldn't have come up with a better condition for that petty bastard. And Cas, losing his shit over Dean flaking out? Again, EPIC. Did I love the return of Adam? I know, controversial OTOH, he really WAS a Winchester with the sarcasm and bitterness. And in one little scene, when he said he would stop Zachariah, I was happy to see in that way he was a brother too. Many disliked his role in Swan Song but I only regret that he didn't get out of the Cage. My pet theory is Micheal protects him (sticking with that too), even if it's just to annoy Lucifer. But again, the best part of the episode was the boys refusing to go gently into that good night (and take half the planet with them). AwesomO4000 November 4, 2014 Share November 4, 2014 I echo SueB's love for "Point of No Return," and she said it so well that I don't need to say too much more. I've already elaborated on the episode thread anyway, although I would like to add (don't think I mentioned it there), that I thought Misha did a good job with the angel confrontation scene. Castiel's plan was hard core and required him getting blasted in the process, and I thought Misha did a good job of both showing Castiel trying to be blustering, and then being a little afraid and concerned about what he'd gotten himself into once the angels showed up, and then his determination as he took them out. I liked how Sam let Dean have his say and didn't lash back or try to rationalize away Dean's valid complaints. I liked how Dean decided that he wasn't going to let Zachariah get the best of him and that he was going to continue fighting, and I liked how Zachariah remained over-confident and petty to the end and how that ultimately did him in. And as SueB said, even Adam proved himself to be a Winchester. I even understand why it wasn't there - though they could've somehow gotten it there - but still it bugs me that it's missing. At times I like the End a bit more but it has some weak spots too. All three are eps that I've felt had some really powerful moments. Point of No Return, Dean coming back from giving up and it did have some good points but Cas beating up Dean and everyone talking down for Dean for giving up...bugs me. It feels like everyone beating him down and how many times had he kept them fighting the good fight, so I couldn't save it. But it does have some interesting moments. catrox14 November 5, 2014 Share November 5, 2014 I LOVE LOVE everything about The End and nearly everything about Dark Side of the Moon. I'm a sucker for post apocalypse stuff and Jensen Ackles work as Dean and future! Dean was so brilliant and underrated. Jared s turn as Lucifer remains my favorite acting by Jared and the scene between them in the garden just blew me away. Misha was perfect as messed up future! Cas. Athletic! Dean FTW when being chased by the Croats. And the panties conversation will never not be great. Dark side of the Moon has my 2nd favorite opening sequence of any episode. It's horrifying and perfect. One of my top 10 favorite Ackting moments is Dean's very not okay face during the scene on the road when he learns one of Sam's happy memories was leaving. Guh. And "I'm petty". The only part of Changing Channels I really love is Dr. Sexy and the opening of the sitcom. 7kstar November 7, 2014 Share November 7, 2014 (edited) Well I'm the meanie that killed Changing Channels and yes it had some really awesome moments but for me it was in third place. I loved Sam having to play Kit, the Sitcom Dean and Sam, Doctor Sexy and the Sunglasses. Not a big fan of the commercial but it did have some really nice moments. If I forgot something important, well it is your turn to speak... but something had to go and it was it's turn IMO. The next two I can live with however the vote turns out, I think I would put Dark as 1st, because I like that Sam and Dean have a even role in this one, the beginning...WOW!! and the ending...well I must admit it inspired a fan-fiction story which I just had to write and since The End didn't move me like that, well it makes it second for me. So I look forward to seeing just how we decide this, and I do believe it is a tough vote. Vote away. For me they are pretty tied, so it isn't one is greatly better than the other. So I'm happy either way it goes, I agree with the top two...so as long as I don't have to kill either one, I'll be fine.
