Actionmage March 28, 2014 Share March 28, 2014 Our favorite reformed blutbad, played by Silas Weir Mitchell, has been having a season lately, hasn't he? With his proposal and his folks and the carnival? Link to comment
Dianthus April 30, 2014 Share April 30, 2014 The title made me LOL! I loved how Monroe started out as a reluctant sidekick. Then, in the most recent ep, he calls on Nick to save him from Trubel. 1 Link to comment
Actionmage November 15, 2014 Author Share November 15, 2014 I appreciated Monroe being his book-learnin' self this week. It was a quick and dirty summation of why these folks need to be stopped/outwitted/whatever. I also sort of thought it was sweet that he swore that they'd have a honeymoon. They knew their life would not be simple, esp. knowing Nick, but yeah, they need to make time for themselves. 1 Link to comment
Actionmage November 30, 2014 Author Share November 30, 2014 After Hank hustled our wesen newlyweds indoors, Monroe was red eyed and ready to take on all comers! In order to appreciate how much Monroe works at not being a Big Bad Wolf, we do need to see him being "bad" once in a while. I will not feel badly for those who think they can make this couple cower! 1 Link to comment
Slovenly Muse November 30, 2014 Share November 30, 2014 I would love to get a taste of the Big Bad Wolf! I thought this storyline was really interesting from the start, about Monroe giving up the identity he was "supposed" to have to become a vegetarian clock repairman and live a quiet, pleasant, non-violent life. I know they wanted to create some parallels between Wesen intermarriage and racial intermarriage (and the bigoted outrage against it), but I think it was an unfortunate choice to introduce Monroe's parents this way. He's always said his parents didn't understand or approve of his vegetarian lifestyle, but they seem like such nice, reasonable people, whose only problem was with his choice of partner, that it kind of undermines his identity as the guy who refuses to be the Big Bad Wolf. If his parents don't seem to have that instinctive vicious, predatory nature, then are Blutbads in general also reasonable people who are in control of themselves and not a danger to others? If so, why is his regime so important? I would love to get back to that point, because that's what drew me to Monroe in the first place. The idea that he's a giant dorky teddy bear by choice, but there is danger lurking under the surface that he has to work to keep in check. I haven't felt that in a long time and I would love to get it back! Link to comment
Actionmage January 18, 2015 Author Share January 18, 2015 (edited) I loved it when Monroe was able to clock the punk and mostly get away. I can't blame himforflipping out over the burned remains of that poor guy (Tim?). I was almost yelling at the TV for Monroe to quit gawking at the on-coming van and pick a direction already! Monroe's face at the other gent's wedding ring got me. I was afraid that everyone Monroe dealt with was part of the wesen Nazis. The "kindly" older teen, the hit squad that 'napped him, and I was betting that the other prisoner was another plant, to further break Monroe's judgment and trust down. I think we will see him go big Big Bad Wolf next episode. They need to call Monroe's folks. They could probably rally more bodies and keep this wesen problem in-house, as it were. Prevailing Wind January 18, 2015 Share January 18, 2015 Terry. The guy's name was Terry. I hope Monroe knows how to find his widow to give her the ring. 1 Link to comment
ShadowFacts January 18, 2015 Share January 18, 2015 I agree, Actionmage, there needs to be more involvement of families and friends, not just the closed Nick gang, to have the best chance of getting Monroe back alive. Teresa would be so handy right now, also. 1 Link to comment
The Cake is a Pie January 20, 2015 Share January 20, 2015 Hey, remember that time Monroe slammed a dude against a ceiling and "accidentally" ripped his arm off? I miss that Monroe. 4 Link to comment

Actionmage May 2, 2015 Author Share May 2, 2015 As much as I need Monroe to be alright, I have to wonder: Why did he stay (dramatically) in one spot? It's almost like how in movies folks hardly run away at an angleto whatever is speeding at them, they just obligingly run in a straight line in front of whatever is chasing them--car, train, motorcycle, plane. (I only really kind of forgive Cary Grant because, well, Cary Grant and small planes are pretty hard to hide from.) Link to comment
Blue Plastic May 2, 2015 Share May 2, 2015 I suppose Monroe was afraid if he moved, it would be futile because he either wouldn't be able to get away in time or Juliette would decide to make Nick shoot Rosalee or Hank instead. He'd better be okay. We'd better not have had to suffer through those Wesenrein episodes only for Monroe to end up getting killed by whiny Juliette. Link to comment
OtterMommy October 25, 2015 Share October 25, 2015 I thought that Monroe was his first name? As far as the cannon goes, he is Monroe, the same way Madonna is Madonna or Cher is Cher. It was revealed in some of the BTS stuff, though, that he was originally Eddie Monroe. 2 Link to comment
