Monroe: He'll Clock You

I appreciated Monroe being his book-learnin' self this week. It was a quick and dirty summation of why these folks need to be stopped/outwitted/whatever.   I also sort of thought it was sweet that he swore that they'd have a honeymoon. They knew their life would not be simple, esp. knowing Nick, but yeah, they need to make time for themselves.

I would love to get a taste of the Big Bad Wolf! I thought this storyline was really interesting from the start, about Monroe giving up the identity he was "supposed" to have to become a vegetarian clock repairman and live a quiet, pleasant, non-violent life. I know they wanted to create some parallels between Wesen intermarriage and racial intermarriage (and the bigoted outrage against it), but I think it was an unfortunate choice to introduce Monroe's parents this way. He's always said his parents didn't understand or approve of his vegetarian lifestyle, but they seem like such nice, reasonable people, whose only problem was with his choice of partner, that it kind of undermines his identity as the guy who refuses to be the Big Bad Wolf. If his parents don't seem to have that instinctive vicious, predatory nature, then are Blutbads in general also reasonable people who are in control of themselves and not a danger to others? If so, why is his regime so important? I would love to get back to that point, because that's what drew me to Monroe in the first place. The idea that he's a giant dorky teddy bear by choice, but there is danger lurking under the surface that he has to work to keep in check. I haven't felt that in a long time and I would love to get it back!

I loved it when Monroe was able to clock the punk and mostly get away.  I can't blame himforflipping out over the burned remains of that poor guy (Tim?). I was almost yelling at the TV for Monroe to quit gawking at the on-coming van and pick a direction already! Monroe's face at  the other gent's wedding ring got me. I was afraid that everyone Monroe dealt with was part of the wesen Nazis. The "kindly"  older teen, the hit squad that 'napped him, and I was betting that the other prisoner was another plant, to further break Monroe's judgment and trust down.

I think we will see him go big Big Bad Wolf next episode. They need to call Monroe's folks. They could probably rally more bodies and keep this wesen problem in-house, as it were.

As much as I need Monroe to be alright, I have to wonder: Why did he stay (dramatically) in one spot?

It's almost like how in movies folks hardly run away at an  angleto whatever is speeding at them, they just obligingly run in a straight line in front of whatever is chasing them--car, train, motorcycle, plane. (I only really kind of forgive Cary Grant because, well, Cary Grant and small planes are pretty hard to hide  from.)
